Great Product!
Once again, I'm very pleased with Turbo Tax. The only missing options are a child's unused tuition optimizer (just like the donation optimizer), because I initially claimed $5000, but then realized that I didn't need to claim any of it to change my refund = I can use it next year instead and not waste all of it unnecessarily this year! Also, non-disabled spouses in Canada are allowed to also claim the disability tax credit, but there's no option for this. Instead, I have to claim to be disabled in the software for this credit to be applied to my return. Keep up the good work! 4.5/5

Instant and Painless
In future, I will purchase on-line as I had some issues downloading the copy from COSTCO. The Easy Steps ensure that I haven't left out anything and that all my data is in the correct boxes on the Tax Return

quite user friendly
the only trouble I found was trying to get medical travel through the Northern Residents allowance. don't know if thats the gov't fault or turbotax. might be worth looking into

Optimize Buttons
I have been a TurboTax user for many years and have always found it helpful. I seem to have encountered a problem with the optimize feature for Charitable Donations, Medical Expenses this year as I had more Charitable Donations than I needed to claim, but never discovered this until I got to the tax savings tips during the review stage.

I bought the product at a store and had difficulty trying to find the website to download the software and put in my activation code. eventually got it after 2 hours. Next year I will try to buy this online or better yet, switch to another product.

Taxes Done
Just finished my taxes or 2020. Not too many changes but more questions to answer which hopefully equates to a better return . A little frustrated when tax return started asking me questions for information I never told program I had, tied in with T3, T5 and T8 schedules. Have been using this tax program since TaxWhiz disappeared. Straight forward and I like the questions and checks and balances to ensure I haven't forgotten any steps. Electronic, completed in a couple of minutes electronic filing is a real treat, effortless, done in a couple of minutes.

Good! But Strange Quirks
TurboTax Standard works well, but there are strange quirks I wish they would fix.
WHY do you keep putting box 17 of T5s on a separate page? Why doesn't the amount entered for box 17 T5s show up in the T5 summary?
At the end of the return, you ask people to sign up for CRA electronic mail. The choices are "yes" and "No, I'm not ready to go paperless". YOU NEED a button that says, "I am already signed up for CRA electronic mail".

trouble on install, otherwise ok
got error message on install re C+ unable to install.
I went ahead without it. Saw several similar comments online.
Reviewed my laptop's recent upgrades and saw that C+ had actually been installed OK.
I have filed return now, no problem, so I guess it is just a bug in the install routine that gave me a faulty error message.
Have used Turbotax for several years, never a problem before, and will continue to use.

Always used it
Always used this prog but i am hoping that the profit pressures at Intuit do not shift the focus from getting the best return possible to getting as much added value from the program purchase as possible. I see more and more marketing creeping into the easy step to get you to purchase more services, services I would hope the program was designed to avoid! Afterall the program is steadily increasing in price.

Great Product but...
The only issue I have with this product is the RRSP wizard. It is a little difficult to understand what it is telling us, in regards to how to maximize our contributions/returns, when my spouse and I are doing our taxes.

there's a glitch this year
I have always been happy using Turbotax and have used it for many, many years. It is user friendly and reminds me of things that might effect my return that I may have forgotten about. This year however, there is a glitch in the calculations around CWB. In my running total it had already given me the CWB extra credit, but when I got to accepting the CWB I did not qualify (I found this out after talking to a lovely agent) because I made too much so it removed that amount. SO in short, the wording on that page is deceiving, it will effect your numbers, but the reasons are correct.

Only thing wrong was that Turbo tax was showing I had room to put money into my RRSP which was wrong. It should have been zero for 2019. Other than that Turbo Tax was its usual best.

Great price but
I have been using your product for over 10 + years. And had no problems. But just finished my return and was quite shocked it would cost for your organization to review and help should I need it for audit purposes. Great product but if I paid for the extra services my pension would stretch. My husband passed in 2019 and I had to get an accountant to do my income taxes.

Interface
The CRA interface does not work. I tried several times and waited for return and nothing. I could login to the CRA Login and get information then I had to switch between screens. What a waste of time!!! The autofill worked the same way no return to say it was completed. However, it put the information in the correct places.I have been using Turbotax for many years and this year it appeared the longest to complete even the date entered was the same.
Also the survey asked for information on the 2018 tax year. Come on lets get updated??

Great product!
I like Turbotax Standard software very much and use it for friend and family returns--even some complex ones--medical, charitable slips, and multiple slips. Only drawback is that you cannot simply move the donations from one taxpayer form to that of the other spouse--unlike switching medical expenses on the form between spouses. An autofill feature when starting names would be a very nice feature!

It seems to get easier every year
Life isn't simple...nor is doing your taxes. However, TurboTax seems to make it easier every year. I am old enough to remember doing my taxes with the government-issued forms and a calculator. Now I am done doing my taxes in less than an hour (including download time!).

RRSP & People 65 and Up, Sale of home, never occur
For the most part, it was easy to use. I always got the screen for the sale of a house, even though I answered NO to the question. Stupid and frustrating. I had to start over, thinking I did it by mistake, but it did the same thing. Fix this now!
Next, people over the age of 65 can't buy RRSP's, so why do you calculate how much they can buy? My dad's 85, this is very confusing for him, and frustrating for me to explain the company couldn't calculate his age and not display the RRSP amount. I would write better code than this.
