Tax Return easiet ever!
We have been using Turbotax and its predecessor for many years. We are retired so our taxes are very straight forward. I was able to complete our returns in approximately an hour and likely less if CRA import had been up and running at the time. Netfile is the easiest yet.

TurboTax is worth the cash!
I have used Intuit Tax Software for 30 years. Easy to use, and gets the job done. Netfile is painless.

Unable to Netfile
I set up the program and got all the info in. It will let me print to mail, but, will not allow me to netfile. I get the not available sign (circle with the line through it). Not happy

Help Without Cost

Very comprehensive but a few issues
Very comprehensive software that does almost everything well, however, has a few issues. Could not enter tax instalments paid directly on the T1 General Form but had to go through the whole Easy method just to enter that number, and could not change the NAICS code on a T776 rental income form without causing the return to not qualify for Netfile so had to leave the incorrect code that TurboTax automatically entered.

Good for Basic Taxes
Takes a couple of hours but saves you quite a bit. I would have liked some more guidance when filling the forms out, sometimes I would have to search for answers online for clarification.

Less than thrilled
Multiple returns crashed and failed to save with this years product. The software imported its own data from our tax returns for last year and then repeatedly told us that we had changed our names and marital status. Fix your stuff!

There is a bug in the program when reviewing the data regarding your name and your spouses name etc. The program does not associate the two people correctly. IE under my name my wife's data is displayed and visa versa for my wife's dame

Very Good Product
I've used Turbotax for 10 years. It is a very good product. The 2019 version did have a little bit of an issue with filling in the RRSP information. Had to go back a couple times before it worked.

Used for years
I've used Turbo Tax for longer than it's been called Turbo Tax. I have a somewhat complicated tax return, running a home based business. Over the years I developed a list of things to gather. The program calculates everything for me and the review reminds me of anything I might have forgotten to address. Customer service is very good also if I phone with any problems. Saves me tons in accountant fees and I keep good records just in case.

Stay informed and save money
Filling out your income taxes using Turbotax keeps you up to date on Revenue Canada practices. Also, it is cheaper than getting an accountant or Tax Professional to do it.

Very good product
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that I paid for it twice. I purchased the CD version. My new computer doesn't have capacity for a CD. Tried to download a version to use my key code, but it wouldn't allow me to download it without paying for it.

2019 Return with Dependants
The package as a whole is excellent - as always; HOWEVER there is one or two GLARING areas in need on 'more definition and content' - specifically:
#1: "OTHER DEDUCTIONS' (#23200) is a void of information or line numbers!
, and the SELECT DEPENDANTS doesn't say 'Highlight' or 'SELECT dependent!'

Clarify unlikely tax credits
Turbotax is great but ease of use, some uncertainty and use of time would all be improved if hints were provided that various tax credits only become relevant between a certain range of incomes.

Mainly good, but had trouble finding the Optimizers. They were referred to in the Review process without any indication how to find them. I googled for a solution that did not apply. Eventually found them in the Tools menu. Why not tell people where to find them?
Also, I couldn't see how the Medical Optimizer would help me. I just had to review the dates and amounts of my medical expenses

Secondly, I couldn't figure out how to enter a few hundred dollars that I paid for a computer under Capital Costs. The Review gave me the "opportunity" to fix it, but didn't show me how. So I decided to enter 50% as Office Expenses rather than have to file an adjustment.
Thirdly, the Review told me that if I paid rent, I could be eligible for the Senior Homeowner credit (or deduction?), but it wouldn't accept my rent unless I could put in an amount for property taxes, which of course are paid by the landlord out of my rent, rather than by me directly, so I don't have an amount.

occasionally has error bugs
if you are sure you have done everything correctly but get 'error' message at efile time its a total time waste checking it all again so try to file anyways. This has happened over the years repeatedly and it usually goes through when pushed. Otherwise its pretty easy to follow the instructions and view the forms to verify entries.

Long Time User
I have used this product for many years and am very satisfied with it. I typically buy the Standard package however have investments including a rental property and so likely need to upgrade next year. The Standard Package still works but it does get a little confusing when splitting rental income.
