Some screens hard to read
Inuit allows you to change the font size of the screen but due to lack of common sense, wisdom did not prevail. They forgot to apply said changes to T-SLIPS part of the program.
Let's face it, not everyone has 20/20 vision, and for those who enter via "T-Slips", well, not so easy... What ever happened to s/w validation for such a simple task.. To quote a famous celebrity "Dooh"

Help-Info Look-Up
The Help function is next to useless. I had questions/uncertainties about a couple of issues and I could not find ANY useful info on these issues under the Help feature.
Also, form look-up is cumbersome and inefficient to the point that a fairly common form (a Worksheet) could not be found by using the form search feature.
I have used TurboTax for about ten years.
At this point the most useful feature is its ease of starting a new year's return. It's disadvantages, some of which are noted above, are now sufficient that I will review other options for tax year 2020--even though that is burdensome.

Windows Upgrading
Twice now I have had to do a major upgrade of Windows OS in order to use TT. I wish developers could find a way to avoid this as it can be expensive and often requires a hardware upgrade as well.

Upgrade?
I've been using this version of Turbo Tax for several years and continue to be quite satisfied with this software. I purchased this version and had intended to submit some Capital Gains income however was not able to access any help on this topic. I was about to upgrade to the Premier Edition but would have had to pay the full price for the Upgrade. Had I been given a credit for the amount that I had already paid, I would gladly have upraded to Premier, I did not upgrade. I believe Intuit Turbo Tax should consider that I already purchased their software and should provide the online version of Premier for the added extra costs only. I was unaware that I would need Premier until after I'd installed this version.

OK with some bugs
I used it for a Final Tax Return (Estate) and while it asks for the date of death, it does nothing with it. CRA asks that you add "Estate of the Late..." to the name and you can't do it in Turbotax unless you start a new return. Also, it asks silly questions about tax planning, etc. that are not appropriate for a dead person. Not sure if they fixed the big error of a few years back which is the splitting of dividends between two people and the DTC didn't get transferred which is a big problem that would result in errors.

Preferred the previous software
Have been using QuIcktax and TurpoTax for I imagine around 20+ years and have always been very satisfied. The recent version did not impress me that much as it too a great deal of time to figure out the relationship with the old version.
I am a fairly senior person 85+ and took me almost a few hours to be sufficient confident to print the report for mailing,
Hope that next year will be easier because I will use TurboTax again next year.

Special Information
Thank you. The return we completed was different than those filed over the past 20 years or so. The information available in the various sections was easy to understand and use. This one requires filing a Printed copy. The instructions served us well in that regard also.

Confused
Too much pushing to upgrade - annoying. There are a number of places that income information entry is duplicated, More clarity on where it should be entered once..If it's entered from a T slip why would I enter it again? No explanation so I just ignored.

Suggested Improvements
The entry forms for T5013 slips should allow a split of amounts entered between spouses similar to the T3 and T5 forms. It is also very difficult to locate the required boxes across the set of T5013 entry forms.
While reviewing my return, TurboTax suggested I should apply for the Ontario Senior Homeowners' Property Tax Grant. This grant is only eligible to those age 65 or older, and as such I do not qualify. TurboTax should not provide this suggestion if the date of birth provided on the T1 indicates the individual is less than age 65.

I have used Quicktax/Turbotax for more years that I can remember. So I must like it's features and benefits. However I am now retired. I want to suggest that the software ask two question in the profile section. " Did you retire this past year?" and a yes answer should come up with factors that are implicated by this information.
And the second question needed " Did you sell or close your business this year?" and a yes answer would prompt factors to consider as you proceed.

Beats a tax preparer
I use it for my family's returns...mostly T4s and retired family members. Easy to use and the phone consult service is great value, highly recommend it. I have saved my family of 7 $600 over a tax preparer. The phone consult is a cost effective review of your work.

PROBLEMS

check for opened unused forms

Problems
On the T3, for Foreign Country it gives USA, Country 2 or 3. It won't let you put in any country or other. T3's don't show the country.
If there was no sale of residence, it still gives warnings in the review and prints the forms.

Programming shortcuts bring grief!
Using Standard rather than the Higher Price next level up, tumbled across a couple of your programming shortcuts tdw DivTaxCredit (DTC) for a friend and myself. Have not yet seen MY assmnt, but his ended up miscalculating his BC DTC!!! CRA caught it, but....folks??. Pse do better!!

Confusing
I bought a CD version to use on our old laptop, but when I saw the warning re Windows 7, I then went to do it on our laptop which has no CD drive. When I went to the site indicated, there were no instructions re having paid for the disc version as well. I did not want to start it to find I had to now pay for the on line version, so as a result I ended up doing it on the old machine!

Should be free for seniors
I have used the Turbotax for years, and as a senior couple, feel the service should be free. I don't like the upselling that comes with the package, and the nuisance of purchasing a CD version, and then having to contact support to get a download version. The peace of mind of filling in the online version with the self check steps is reassuring.
