Senior's hope
Could you not add the Income Tax & Benefit Guide as a separate add-on so a person would not have to go to the CRA site to look for information they might need.

Helpful, takes away worries
I find the software easy to use and it takes away some worries. I've been using it for more years than I remember (even when it was called QuickTax) . Last few years it "recommends" I use premium because of some of my investment forms I think, BUT Standard still seems to work ok. To me it's not worth almost doubling the cost of the software to get premium.

Good Product
I find this software very handy and find the Steps system the best part. Finding the connection between the Steps and worksheet is not as intuitive as I would like.

ok, but
It's a good program, but the interface for entering t-slips and medical expenses is incredibly clunky. Can this not be made more spreadsheet-like so you can see them all at once and easily copy and paste information from one to another?. Especially since the downloads of T slips from CRA disaggregate info from a single t-slip making them very difficult to check. Drives me crazy every year.

Bugs
There are several places where a selection does not do/take you to expected screen. Couple examples: in review it says that you have to indicate if your spouse was in jail for any of the tax year, a yes/no answer. Thinking i missed that field I select review, it worked. There is a select box with yes and no. Either selection says you cannot do that you need to overide it!! You cannot get out of the screen. selecting the word 'Select' does not help it says to select something. Another after you netfile, do you want to see your express assessment, select that and you get a screen about changing your return back button does not work.

Wish that you could easily switch medical receipts from one spouse to the other (without re-entering the data). Had to delete one by one, and re-enter one by one onto the other spouse's return.

Not so easy to use
I used Schedule 11 for Tuition and it was very difficult to understand the logic and the system did not let me override and Netfile.

Trouble at Netfile
Questions and all stumbled over Netfile. Not sure what was sent in the end.

Standard 2019 version
Excellent software, but I would like to see a few changes. (1) Make it possible to search across all forms for a particular dollar amount. I had a case where I wanted to know where a $ amount was transferred to a different form. (2) Proactively show where amounts of unused capital losses from past years is inserted into this year's form, assuming that we import last year's TurboTax data to start this year's form. (3) While entering "slips" information (e.g., donations, medical, T5, ...), create a button to move instantly back to the first "slip" column, rather than having to work our way back one slip at a time via the "<" button. The latter is a big pain when we have 20 slips. (4) Enable auto-complete in that "slips" section, given that people often have multiple identical items in the text headers for several slips. (5) Remove the ambiguity of "Amount paid" in the medical slips section; in one place it means total amount paid to the service (amount paid by insurance PLUS amount paid by me personally), and in the other place, "Amount paid" means only the amount that I personally paid.
Thanks for making these changes to next year's form.

tuition transfer/dependent
It would have been nice to know that I needed to complete my kids taxes before my own for the transfer of tuition. That turned into a bit of a nightmare. Also, when it came to claiming the climate change incentive, it said that I couldn't claim my child as a dependent which I found confusing. Because I then took them off the dependent list and then all the tuition transfer stuff got deleted, so I had to start all over again.

First time Efile user
So this was my first Efile experience. Been doing our family taxes for 30 years with no issues on hard copy. Decided to Efile this year and purchased TurboTax Standard Download.
Software is easy to use and support staff were awesome when I had a small issue. Will be purchasing TurboTax again for our 2020 tax returns!

Be Careful not to duplicate information
All financial investments were entered from slips but then another page required the info again. A comment should exist that says to not repeat any info already entered.
Figured it out at the end when the payment seemed a bit high. I had to go back and erase the repeated information.

Some small improvements needed
I have not used this tool since 2014. Now I am back. Before that every year for about a decade. It works and does what is needed.
The user Interface has not improved in several years. Key features needed is import and cut and paste. I create spreadsheet lists of medical and donation lists. I would like to import them. As Its cut and past into fields does help because the mouse right click context menu does not work.

A neccessity but can improve
Can't imagine doing taxes without some type of software but they are still complicated. Turbo tax instructions can be confusing and they ask for the same information many times. Printing function is terrible - prints tons of empty forms and eats up your printer toner and your paper.

The end result
It all worked out in the end and maybe it was my fault but after going through the Easy Step method THREE TIMES I could not find a place to enter my quarterly tax installments. I ended up going to the forms section and entering them there. Is this what you have to do or did I just miss this item in Easy Step?

Simplify more
When you need to transfer a previous year's file, that requirement should be a question on the first page of the Easy-Step rather needing to go to the pull-down menu. When you do transfer a previous year's return, there seems to be a lot of repetitive questions, that could be otherwise eliminated.

good program as always. The T5103 layout in the slips entry screen is a pain, though. The box numbers should be in numerical order so it is easy to enter the data. They don't need to be grouped by type. It makes the boxes difficult to find, especially when you have to scroll through 4 pages of box numbers.

Two things:
- this year I did not get a confirmation number that I had successfully submitted my income tax electronically
- when I printed my income tax off all the forms were not printed and I had to go back and recheck and print them individually
