CRA My Account Instructions Could Be Better
I have had a CRA My Account (paperless) for years. I also have had Direct Deposit even longer. Why, when I get part way through Net Filing, do I get requests : "Do you want to go paperless? Yes or No" It suggests that if I say NO (because I already have paperless) that CRA may revert me back to having to mail everything. Same goes for Direct Deposit. A bit confusing. Why not simply say: "If you presently use paperless (or have Direct Deposit), click the Continue button. If not you can sign up by ……" ?

Whew done for another yr.
For myself, I was not able to access CRA due to joint return with my spouse, (different birth months). Also was not able to complete CRA access to Turbo info on my returns. Caused me some frustration, but managed to get thru it.

FormT5013 Data Entry
Form T5013 data entry software is full of bugs. The most annoying is that the Column Number at the top would shift left or right when you moved onto a new Section of the T5013 form, also, the Note field data got lost at times,

Good and the Bad
I am a bookkeeper so I like to see all the forms and have a feel for what the government is doing when the figure out the tax we are owed. I found the forms were fairly easy to navigate whether you allowed the program to lead you or did you forms manually. I didn't like that the updates wouldn't download and I didn't like that the directions to fix the problem didn't work. If I had know a phone call would have solved my problem I would have done it sooner.

Update requiring restart computer is unforgivable.
Two very ugly things about this software:
1. Each update requires a reboot of the computer. No civilized Windows application-level software has required that for years!
2. Constant warnings against using Windows 7, and a statement that next year's software will not work with Windows 7. It is none of your business which operating system I choose to use!

Needed overrides not obvious
I had to split large donations and medical expenses between my wife and me. I called the help line and she tried to be helpful but could not suggest how to do it. I figured it out myself. There are lines on the Medical and Donation worksheets to do this but you have to override the green number provided by the program. More instructions on entering the sale of a principal residence would be helpful. Filling out the forms directly gave an error at review time. I had to call the help line and we had to revert to the easy step approach to make it work.

disappointed
The program crashes when you attempt to import from CRA and it the CRA website states you don't have a CRA login when attempting to sign in using a preferred partner. Occurred three times. easily repeatable. never should have got through quality control.

EASY TO USE
The step by step filling in of the return makes it easy to use and relatively easy to understand what you are doing. My experience, with Turbo Tax, over at least 6 years has allowed my wife and I to save the maximum on our taxes. With Netfile it allows us to submit our returns quickly and get any refund that we entitled to quickly.

Font problems
There are continuing problems with the font size. The default size is tiny and you can increase it, but the menu bar remains tiny, which is a problem.
In addition it used to be possible to keep the Summary on the left while working on the return. It now obscures the left side of the working screen.

Couldn't get the program to register in March. Sent an email and they answered but I didn't have the computer to fix it. Got the computer back and was able to register. I downloaded my info but one did not show the info but the form was filled out. I deleted it and entered it myself.

Decent Product
I'v been using this for at least 26 years, starting when it was called QuickTax.
It is relatively easy and straight forward and handy for importing T slips info from CRA MyAccount.

Turbo Tax Standard is Pretty Good
Pretty good. The T5008 to Schedule 3 data transfer didn't go through, when doing an AutoFill from the CRA's data. The country needs to be set to your country manually. Makes sense, but a heads up message would have been nice.

An Error on T1175
There is an error in the latest software when you enter Details of Motor vehicle additions in the year. It does not enter correctly. When you enter a number in thousands it shows up in millions

Solid program
The only thing I found frustrating is that every time i opened a return, I got a popup asking if I wanted to auto populate my tax forms. There seemed to be no way to disable it. It came up over and over. I hope it is corrected for the next tax year.
