Northern Living Travel Benefits
I like the Turbotax product, however the Northern Living Travel Benefit section needs work. It is unclear what to fill in some of the boxes, I might as well be filling in the CRA form. More automation needs to occur in this area even though we are a small majoity of people using this part of the program.

Easy steps
Easy steps may walk you through a lot but if you don't have simple taxes, it just won't make it easy. You'll spend a lot of time searching for answers to questions and wondering if you're doing the right thing. Turbotax offers reviews for more money but when you add the total cost, was it worth doing yourself instead of having an accountant do it? I'm not sure. The product does a good job of walking you through just about everything so if you go slowly and read everything, it'll do a good job on your taxes.

Fairly easy to use. Like the ability to switch between the T1 and Easy Form format. Have been using Turbo tax for 5-6 years and have only had 2 real problems with it.

A necessary evil
I have done taxes without turbo for years and this does make it easier.
BUT; I would like to be able to see what is going on in the background when I input data. There should be a view that I can look at the actual forms. A split screen perhaps.
The second item that really, really needs to change is the number of pages printed for my copy. Even when you do a RCA tax form there are a lot less than the 36 your system printed for me. I mean really???
Last issue.. can't it print the last page first???

Turbo Tax is a good product once you are familiar with all features and the way to use them . It's also flexible for switching between forms and spouses tax returns . I have been using it for several years in a raw now and fully satisfied.

I like Turbotax STANDARD
For my purposes as a married individual the TORBOTAX STANDARD is cheap and very good,. However, there is one matter that could be improved. When calculating capital gains (losses) from selling stocks that I own with my wife, I need to STILL do by hand the allocation to my return and to hers. Why not use a similar procedure for allocating gains (losses) as is done for dividends of the T5 slips. Thank you in advance if you make the requested change .

Very difficult install on computer (Dell) and long wait for support on phone & support could not solve the issue. Took a month of poking at it and hours of looking at online searches for solutions from people with the same issue. Finally solved problem. It was a simple issue regarding the Environment settings that support should have caught.

Getting Better
The first couple of years I used intuit TurboTax I thought I was going crazy. Why would someone want to subject themselves to hours of stress and frustration? Since then it has definitely been improved, and this year it took me less than 2 hours to do both my and my spouse's returns. Thank you TurboTax!!!!

Good but

Somewhat Lacking.
Help/search is inadequate. Does not have all the forms or information one needs easy to find.
The integration with the CRA. when sending the form is effortless. However one of the questions is so poorly written it makes no sense at all. They need to split the question in two and add another bullet.

Takes some getting used to
I found getting to the right form less than intuitive. My major complaint involved donations. In cases where all donations were not needed, the software should tell you right in Sch 9 that there is an excess and automatically calculate the right amount - with the ability to override if for some reason (not sure what that would be) the preparer wants to claim more credit than needed.

help function

help feature
your help feature should include where in the tax return, i.e. line #'s, the information thatn you are seeking is located and not just describing the query that you made. It would be much easier to complete the tax return if you showed what tax return line the query applies to

Good product, but......
This product is good and easy to use, but the constant upsell is annoying- buy a premium version, get reviewed, audit defense. The other annoyance is that when printing it prints a lot of useless pages eg TOSI and principal residence even though not relevant

Tuition Fees
The Quebec Releve 8 entries form should be available by double-clicking on the appropriate line, using the Forms method. It's availability should not be restricted to the Easy Step method.
Also, it would be helpful to be able to open more than one tax return at the same time and go back and forth from a parent's return to a child's return.

Solid product but Changing filed return confusing
Been using this product since the 1980s. It is always robust and fairly easy to use. A relatively new function (since 2016 I think) is the ability to change an already filed return. The function is really confusing and I have never had success getting it to work. Aside from that, it is a really good product.

Very good
I have used this product for years, generally quite happy with it. One significant weakness is that the auto-fill feature does not work well for the T4/R1 for employees of Quebec companies who live outside of Quebec.

I have used turbo tax for many years and I refuse to upgrade to Windows 10 as it is NOT a very good operating system . I am using Windows 7 on all 3 of my networked computers with a lot of expensive hardware that will not fuction in Windows 10 and I'm not going to switch. I realize the risks with microsoft and malware but I have norton 360 on all of my computers. plus a Linksys router and firewall so I am well protected. This is not a simple changeover and I just won't do it so

Please Fix
I wish you would provide just a few more lines for providing capital gains on bond sales. Two spaces is not enough. How about five spaces?
No I do not need the upgraded version of turbo tax because that is the only complication. This has been a frustration for many years,
