Like Disc better than Cloud
I did the taxes on line last year and this year was unable to retrieve my prior years records to import. I did not find the cloud user friendly am happy they still offer this on a disc.

Questionable value
This software certainly saves time, but keeps you as a permanent customer if you want to avoid bringing forward balances. There should be some recognition of usage over prior years by offering a significant discount.

RRSP issue
I've used Turbotax for a number of years and have been pleased with the results. This year I did have an issue with the input for RRSP's. I had input the RRSP limit for 2019 correctly according to the Easy Step method, however the software included that amount as part of my yearly contribution. I then had to engage the Turbotax support system to make the correction. All is well and will use Turbotax again for 2020

Carrying Forward Deductions
I had a lot of trouble finding where I could enter Medical Deductions because I had carried some forward from last years return. I finally went to the actual forms instead of using the quick method.

Turbotax Standard
This is an excellent tax package. My only complaint is that there are very few aids to make data entry quicker. I use the package for my wife and I. When I'm entering medical expenses, it asks to enter the person with the expense. I'm required to type in the whole name each time. It should auto fill once I type the first letter or two. The same is true for the other fields on that form and on other forms. The package does a good job of reviewing the completed return and pointing out various things to check. Netfile process is easy and straight forward. I've been using this package for many years and my only complaint is the data entry challenge.

Good, with reservations
For more than this year, my age exemption appears to have been miscalculated by TurboTax. CRA corrects it, to my chagrin. I end up paying more than TT calculates.

Worth using this software
I have been using this software since 2013. It is easy to use and a time saver. If you want to make a change in any of the previous screen then you are supposed to sequentially go through all screens till the end. I wish I can make a change without going through all screens again. Just like editing a page.

Good text software in general
Good tax software package. Lacking a few features. Optimizers (Donation, Medical Expenses, and RRSP) offer good results but do not transfer the data to the actual forms. The Medical Expenses Optimize button does not produce optimized results. Overall good tax package that steps you through the necessary tax slips (through Easy Step) without need to know the actual Tax Forms. Wish it had a way to print certain information from within Easy Step - like Tax Summary and Bottom Line. Perhaps future releases can add a Print button to print content from Easy Step pages. Also, a little annoying that the software keeps asking me to upgrade to a more expensive version with no need - and it asks this for each return that I do. However, as stated. overall a very good tax package at Standard level. I have been using it for over 10 years.

Some bugs
I use TT as I have every year for decades. However, it still has some bugs, despite my complaining:
1- Marginal tax rate is wrong
2- Adds Dividends actual, taxable, credit into one sum which makes no sense.
3- Filling forms from CRA duplicates information I put in manually.

good value
I have been using turbotax for 8 years, and I feel I get accurate returns from the comfort of my own home. It's easy to follow, and there is lots of detail to guide you through the possible confusion of tax jargon. The more you use it, the easier it gets. There are other cheaper options out there but I think it comes down to what you pick up to use the first time.

pretty standard
was confused when it came to filing , it would not go to netfile yet gave me a confirmation number . If you make changes to the program and this step is added in , make the consumer aware . I got a confirmation number , but was left confused and unsure

Sometimes not intuitive
I find TurboTax is quite good but sometimes it is not very intuitive. I had problems with a T slip and it recommended I buy a more expensive program. Last year it handled the T5008 form just fine.

handy tool but note for deceased
It would be helpful if, at the very outset, the interview instructions could make clear that marital status and province of residence are those that apply on date of death if coming before December 31. The interview questions request by default marital and residence status on December 31, which can be confusing until the filer intuits what is meant. Confusion could be lessened by the appropriate clarification at the beginning of the interview. Thanks.

Good tax program
Have used this program for over 10 years. Easy to follow. Filling in the forms is "sooo" easy. But if you have any questions, that can be a different story. And going back to check an entry can allow the program to use its own judgement as to who gets a deduction - you or your spouse. So be careful that nothing has changed after reviewing anything.

Got me through another year
Have used this product for years. It seems better than the alternatives, but each year I curse it for not letting me or helping me do what I want to do. The search too often comes up empty, even for terms on the forms, and I have to manually search through the entire return to find the piece of information I want to update.
