CCA recapture
As I was entering my Rental Income & Expenses, Turbo Tax automatically reduced my tax payable by using some of the CCA. (Capital Cost Allowance) This should be my choice to make. It should not happen automatically and hasn't in past years. I thought there was something wrong with the program. I will never want to use my CCA up, as the Gov. will just recapture it when I sell the building.

Pretty straight forward.
Works well if you have some T4 and T5 slips. More complex when you add capital gains/losses but readily doable with the Standard version. Wish it supported splitting a T5013 for a joint account like it does for many other T slips (have to do it manually)..

If the refile works GREAT
I do a self and spouse return and 1 for my University student.
Major problem when TTax did not save some details on the T$A screen for the student, I thought she was getting a good refund. So self and spouse used tuition on our return and Net filed.
I then submitted the student and it seems the T4A screen and scholarship was not applied, so now she owes, yuck.
However, using TTax I reversed the tuition off our taxes and resubmitted, and re-added the amount to student.
Everyone is getting a refund, TTax did not complain and Net file was happy, I received a conformation number that it was received.

Splitting and Submitting needs some work
The Pension splitting should be a lot more visible at the beginning of the tax form completion process preferable as one of the questions during the profile completion. Currently it is hidden away at the end during a review and optimization stage just before just before the submission stage. printing should not print unnecessary pages, printing 34 pages is crazy.. The Submission process was annoying, after I had completed review of the forms, I still had to click a dozen buttions to get tto the point where I could file the forms with CRA. Ultimately, the program worked and was worth the minor annoyances in the Graphical user interface.

Same price for Less perks
I have been using Standard Turbo Tax for years and one of the features that I really appreciated was the information auto-fill from previous Turbo tax returns. This feature is no longer available in Standard Version, but price point has not been reduced. I would rather see the number of returns in the pkg reduced from 8 to 4, and bring back the auto-fill.

Tax Form Download flaky
Everything was good except the tax form download for both my spouse and I. It failed for both of us initially because CRA made us change some of the secondary questions each which caused TurboTax to time out. Then when I went to go back to get them again, the login to CRA failed because of cached info in Edge and there was not way to tell TurboTax to try again. Had to terminate TurboTax a few times through task manager trying to get it to work. Determined that you have to clear cache in Edge before you try to log on to CRA with a different ID. Would have been easier if TurboTax has given a way to cancel and start the download over.

print the return
You can't find where to go to print the return needed to be given to the CRA. There should be two different sections when it comes to printing: one for your copy and the other for the CRA copy

Pretty good in general
In general a pretty good product. When using the Forms method instead of EasyFill, it is strange that the only entry that forces use of EasyFill is changing the Charitable Donations split with a spouse. This is inconvenient because your windows get resized when you switch between Forms and EasyFill. It would also be nice if form windows would open the same dimensions that they were last used in (or at least full window size). As it is, they end up in small windows scattered around the screen. Being forced to switch between Forms and EasyFill means a lot of time resizing the same windows over and over.
It can be difficult to find the correct form to edit an entry in sometimes. Double clicking a calculated line is supposed to take you to the line that can be edited, but this isn't always obvious and it can be hard to find where to edit an entry.

Overall good value
Generally, this software is easy to follow and use to determine your tax return. I find the questions for the climate action rebate to be worded awkwardly and it is annoying that the principal residence declaration default is that you did sell a property.

TurboTax is excellent, but the T5008s downloaded from CRA are confusing. If you enter capital gains otherwise, you need to delete all the T5008s to enable NETFILE.

My review
Once I got the CD to properly load it went well.
Bought CD from Amazon and tried to load it.
It froze about half way. Tried disc on another computer and same thing.
I have used TurboTax for 6 years without incident
A friend lent me their CD and it loaded fine and I finished taxes.
Going to try to return disc to Amazon
Any idea why this happened?
Is there corrupted software out there?

helpful but not complete
I have used turbotax to complete the 5 returns I need to do each year.
I had several problems this year that I wish TT would address.
All of my returns are for residents of Quebec.
I always use the easy assistance steps which I think is useful and very helpful although it always seems to be missing something.
On of my clients receives a T4A from a university that she used to work for it includes an amount in Box 13 representing a taxable benefit related to an insurance plan that they cover. Also included is a Releve 1 for que. this form generates a deduction for workers which the feds do not accept due to the fact that the income is only a benefit. There does not seem to be any way to override this and always ends up in a an adjustment when they receive the assessment.
also the credit for seniors activities is very difficult to find using the easysteps
otherwise good tool

I like the program for the most part. It works well year to year, but I would like to see it easier to close forms that are no longer needed. They transfer forward year to year and some are unwanted as circumstances change.

Taxes Easy
I started of nervous about using this program for taxes. It is designed to be straight forward and easy. asks the necessary questions and then leads you to completion of your taxes without frustration and no need to be a math or accounting genius. It almost does it all for you. Very Impressed and will use it again for my family and friends.

Turbo Tax Review
I found this easy to use but I was annoyed at the two or three 'upsell' pitches that are made. If I bought Turbo Tax Standard then why does it ask me to use Premium? What the software can do should be clearly outlined on the box; I find it disconcerting to be told that I didn't buy the correct version of the software.
