taxes made easy
I have used Turbo tax for a number of years.
I did have a problem inputting info for some extra coverage through my retirement company. Otherwise, it's easy and fast.

Finding the right forms
I was not able to find the specific income forms in the list provided. I did tell the program what I was missing and it took me to the appropriate forms. Following the questions posed is a very easy way to do your taxes. Thank you. I have used Turbo Tax for 8 years.

Great Value
Turbotax Standard is invaluable for me. One minor suggestion is to make clear to users that you do not have to re-enter capital gains or investment info that you have already put in via T forms. I had to verify this from the actual CRA forms wording.

LInes in Form 1135
Turbotax is a good program - have been using it for many years. However, TurboTax needs to provide the ability to add more lines in the 1135 Form. If you have more than three linvestments you are forced to submit the 1135 by mail to CRA. This can't be a difficult thing to do!

"Netfile Submitted" Status Missing on Page 1
Not displaying status whether a return has been Netfiled already on the first page. It used to do that. It's confusing now whether a return has been Netfiled already or not.

Changes
I started with the online version but found it very difficult to use as it would often shut down. I ended up going back to the store to get a CD to use to install the program on my home computer. It worked much better this way.

I've used Turbotax for close to 10 or more years. I find it covers all my needs. I fill out the forms and then I double check with the interview method. I was not happy with one feature this year, which was that I was not able to print a hard copy with my HP Laserjet 3030 printer. It worked every other year. I like to have a hard copy for my files.

Still haven't fully usability tested
I like this program. I will continue to use it but I wish they would test more on the joint returns and the holes such as the import of forms from the CRA. I can import my T4's and follow Intuits advice that I can close the CRA site and continue. I continue with my spouses CRA import -it fails. The reason is that Intuit does not fully log out of the CRA site and hence when it launches my spouse import it is still logged in under my name but with my spouse SIN. As soon as you choose Next on the CRA site it ends with an error and the Intuit screen hangs waiting for data. You then have to kill Intuit. Close the CRA site yourself. reopen Intuit, click on Recover files and launch the import again.

Very good with a concern
During my review doing Turbotax and then with advisor and then when printing, Turbotax froze and the dialogue box appeared with "processing purchase". The program and advice had already been done before this appeared, so it was concerning that I was being charged for something extra. Other than that, Turbotax is a great program and the advice was a great learning experience (have never been able to get through to CR agents). Doibg both US and CDN returns is very trying as forms don't mesh, tax treaties are vague, etc.

Good but issues
The program does a great job on the taxes and is certainly easy to use. The main issue I have is the printing of the returns. Even when I say "yes" to closing forms not needed, it still prints 17 pages of either blank forms or instructions on how to complete a form. This is unacceptable! An extra 17 pages on every return!!! Please get this fixed,

Good, BUT
There is an error in the program with the optional inventory for farming. I told them last year, they agreed but it was NOT corrected for this year. So I have to override and mail by hand. Very disappointed

I like the product and how it works but here are a couple of things that I dislike. I like the info download but it has been incorrect the last 2 years. I assume this is a problem with the companies filing and not with the download. I find some of the lead in questions mislead me. I have mutual funds and I know they do types of investment that you ask about but I do not do this things directly. So when you tell me later that I'm missing something it's usually because I answered your initial questions incorrectly. I also notice that on almost every new screen you have lost the mouse focus so I have to click on the screen again before my mouse scroll works. This is irritating.

Great Product
I have used this product for many years.
Would have given it a 5 but this year a number appeared in my wife's forms that I couldn't track down its origin. Did not make any difference to the final result but a puzzle none the less!

Complex issues handled well - printing not so much
My wife and I have used TurboTax for many years to file a combination of employment and partnership incomes. Each year, the tax rules get more convoluted and TurboTax does a pretty good job of keeping up with all of these changes. What really frustrates me, however, is printing. It is impossible to simply print whatever form I am looking at on my screen. Instead, I need to either go through a menu to print a form that I must then find in a form look-up dialogue box or hit F10 to arrive at the same dialogue box. I have yet to figure out how to print the tax summaries, either detailed or summary. I used to be able to do this. We use paper printouts to verify that we have entered all information correctly. We use the forms method rather than the automated guided tour method as we find we need to go back to modify various forms from time to time. If Turbo Tax could address these more mundane needs, I would give it 5 stars throughout.

Saving issues
I had an error message when trying to save the PDF file, saying that I might not have enough disk space (which I did) and to check whether the disk was write protected (which it was not). I reinstalled and the problem went away for one return but occurred again on the next return.

A few bugs with respect to questions affecting oth
Answers to some questions should result in subsequent questions being skipped; e.g if Q1 is 'are you dead?' and I answer NO, Q2, 'When did you die?' should not appear
