Net filing
I have used turbo tax for many years with satisfaction. This year with my lack of tech smarts and the more detailed questions, I made a mistake on a tax return which was net filed. My problem is how to net file the corrected tax return. Send a printed copy?

Too Expensive
Price should be lower considering the minimum software changes year to year. Soon as a worthy competitor has something out I will be changing because of that fact.

Good for last eight years
I have used Turbo Tax Standard for eight years now. Makes doing your taxes much easier and much more pleasant as I used to dread doing my taxes. Would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone.

OK for basic users
Handling of T4x, T3 and T5 slips is good. I have T5008 slips. Their handling is somewhat clunky, as they were all capital gains, and I had to individually flags them as such. Would have been nice if there was a way to group and flag them all.

Turbo Tax Standard
I likely spent about 5 to 6 hours of my time attempting to resolve a the Error TT 403. I found the help line totally useless. A few other users had the same problem and the work around fix was to complicated to understand.
The simple fix for me was tp return the program with the bad file and exchange for a new one. Problem resolved! Very frustrating when you cannot talk the help desk.

How to get a Big Refund!
I have been using TurboTax for 5 years -- I am an 81-yr.-old Senior a bit Computer Literate, so that tells you how easy it is to use! We do disagree (me and the TurboTax program) sometimes a little bit -- but I did the taxes for both the wife and I in an afternoon. Good enough to give it a thumbs up!!

Helpful Utility
After this many years TurboTax should be refined --it is. So the very few negatives tend to stand out . . e.g. The alternative to accepting to set up CRA e-mail is 'No, I don't want to'; should have added 'or I've done this before'.

Longevity
I have been using the Standard program for over 10 years. If you have a fairly simple return it is fantastic & simple to use.

help is Hard to Get
Getting help while using Turbo Tax is very difficult. Also trying to edit a form once saved seems very difficult also. Not very impressed this year.

Ease of Use
Found the Easy Step was better than prior years. The optimizations were invaluable for splitting, charity and RRSP's. Liked the graphic display of final returns. Net filing has been made easier and added values if you have My Accounts set up as well. Price was very reasonable for the software. Recommend its use to anyone, especially if you do not have a working knowledge of tax regulations & laws.

Ease of use
I have commented on this before but did not see a change. When entering medical expenses, it would be helpful and save time if the name of the patient and who paid to were pre-filled from the last entry. This would allow the filer to change only when the information changed and would speed up the process. especially when it is a single person return.

My experience
I found this tax software much different than the other programs I used in the past which could of been part of my problem.
I found the tax forms print small and hard to read so I used the quick method answering questions.
I did find this program confusing at time.

T2201 Netfile Problem
Could not Netfile my wife's tax return. One of the warning messages indicated T2201 on file with CRA, and I had not entered an amount. Found a fix on Tax File Community support. Took a while...... should have better support. Thanks to the person who figured out the fix!

Too many warnings
the product is good, but this year there were far too many invalid warnings. For some reason it kept telling me that I had indicated a valid disability certificate filed with CRA when I had not.

Needs some improvement
Although the program is very good, there are still some problems. During the review, the program said I had indicated I wanted to claim the disability deduction, both for myself and my spouse. However when I went to review, both were marked for "no" and therefore it was wrong. I tried to see how it would show it, but to no avail. This should be corrected so as to not confuse people.

Fairly easy to use and cost effective. Does give strange errors at the end review (I'm looking at you disability tax credit). Also includes outdated tax forms like the UCCB. Otherwise its good.

I have used this tax software and also U-File some years ago. I prefer this one because the forms in this softeware look like the real government forms. U-File took a short time to get used to but it was fine too.
