First time users should give them self's lots of time to read details and have all documents ready. Also good to have a printer to get a hard copy. I will use it again next year.

Worked well eventually
It took a while for updates to resolve issues with entering some fields using direct entry. Had to revert to interview method to get into some fields.
Seemed to get sorted out but took time. Hadn't encountered this in previous years.

Form completion
You allow a person to complete a form (tuition in this case) without ensuring that it is saved. That error would have cost $600 if we hadn't caught it ourselves.
That should be changed

Comprehensive but cumbersome
This program seems to get more complex every year. There are too many screens that are repeated and questions are repeated even if they have been answered previously or available from previous years.

Save File Feature
When saving your return file, make sure that the file was saved to the desired folder before exiting Turbo Tax. I had to spend an additional 2 hours entering data from the beginning because my file was not saved even though Turbo Tax said it was. The same thing happened to an associate using TurboTax.

Changes to program
The need to use the easy fill part of the program in order to get the forms to fill properly is a pain and confusing, leading to some double entries on investments etc
I hate this change, and want the program changed so that form fill will work for all parts of the program

Mostly work
If something doesn't work, it will take hours to figure out or get support. i.e. industrial code. No short cut key to find the detail. Search in the web and said to use "Guide Me" but can't find that in the software. Can't find that in "Easy Step" or "Help" either. All search in the internet just pointing me back to the government site which said has to use TuboTax code which I couldn't find it anywhere. Finally I had to copy someone's code which is total unrelated to get it netfiled.

Solid product as it is every year
Have used TurboTax (or it's predecessors) for over 20 years now and it has always been a solid product that generally makes it easy to file our taxes. We have much more difficult taxes than most and for the vast majority of taxfilers this program would make it a breeze to do their own taxes every year.

I have been using TurboTax since the change from Quicktax years ago. I have never experienced an audit or question about the results. A good, reliable friend at tax time.
Minor problem this year with very poor readability in the early steps when transferring info from 2017 return. The confirmation screen was too transparent and did not center on the screen. About an inch was off screen to the left and I could not get it to show full screen.

Lots of trouble with crashed computer
My computer crashed half way through I had to buy another program to install on another computer - I tried to call support and even tried the faq. not helpful. i'll likely try another supplier next year.

Needs some tweaking
It has its moments. It can be frustrating to use, because when you get to the end and it says "You have more deductions than credits. Carry over some (charitable, medical) receipts to next year" the only way to optimize charitable donations is to manually try different amounts until the tax starts getting higher and then go back. And talking of going back, it doesn't actually calculate and remember the new entries until you hit CONTINUE, and if that makes it worse, you have to hit BACK, and you generally end up a random number of screens back. The medical receipts are even worse. Instructions are to just delete receipts. Yeah, and then type them back in again? OH MY HEAVENS no. Those are not easy to type (and you don't have an autofill feature other than copy & paste). OH yes. Another frustration is trying to enter T-slips on Easy Step. You can only see the one you are entering. You need to see them all at once or you lose your place. So I kept having to go back and forth between Forms and Easy Step, and that isn't automatic either. There should be a toggle to take you instantly to and from. It's an okay program but I wouldn't recommend it to people because I am sure there must be something a bit less annoying out there.

It has been better...
This year, the program seemed a little problematic. It stated part way through that I should upgrade the product because I said I had sold property or had done some other things. So I went back and unclicked those items and even went into the screen where the numbers are entered to make sure that there were none (that's what the program says to do). It still said I should upgrade the product. So I had to actually start 3 different returns for me. I don't know. It just seemed glitchy this year. Usually, it's pretty good. I'm still going to keep buying it and I usually give it a 5-star rating because it is usually so user-friendly. I realize that I gave it a 4-star rating (Ouch! They lost ONE star) but maybe I've calmed down and I am feeling a little more relaxed...

Transfer prev year info
The one issue I ran into this time is that it wasn't clear enough AT THE START that I had to REQUEST that it transfer the previous year's information. When I discovered that (too late) it meant redoing everything right from scratch. Please be clear and concise about that. I noticed in the forum that I was not alone in this discovery.

Best Tax Program i know of.
Great except difficulty with Designation of Property as Principal Residence. Info would not transfer from worksheet. Had to indicate that property was disposed of even though it was not. Could not Netfile until I did that.
Very Frustrating!!
