\Good program but T5 slips still confusing
Every year I have a T5 slip that has to be split 50/50....the instructions are not clear at all. I always enter on both returns and then have to go back and correct. I guess I should know by now but instructions still aren't clear.

One little hiccup
I have used this product for years and have always been happy with the ease of use. This year, 2018, however the product would not install properly. After much frustrating diagnostic I discovered that my antivirus software would quarantine a file necessary for TurboTax to update. I did finally figure it out and got it to work, however a warning on the box to temporarily shut of your antivirus software may have been helpful.
Will use this again next year though. Product still does a wonderful job of walking you through your taxes and filing them.

Great for non-complicated returns
My wife has a small home business, but because her tax return is very straightforward, we can use "Standard" and not have to pay more for (and use) a more complicated TurboTax. I'm very happy with the results every year.

More problems than usual
Hung up on getting on-line notice of assessment and now it thinks I have not netfiled mine and spouse's returns. Insisted on industry code for T5013 even though issuer did not provide. "Duplicate - Do Not Send By Mail" message on printed forms is too dark.

good program, but.......
I've used TurboTax for over ten years and think it is a good overall program. However this year, when I asked it to carry forward, I was surprised when it showed an unused charitable donations amount from 2017. I knew I didn't have any unused amounts to carry forward, but if I hadn't caught this, and manually erased the fictitious carry forward, I risked being caught at the review stage by the CRA, because the donations amount with the carry forward was not in-line with my normal givings.

Info did not carry forward
I expected my personal information to be carried forward from last year. When I started up I thought I saw something about that on a screen but the screen either disappeared or was covered by another screenand never came back.

Fast, easy and simple to use. The income splitting and optimization features ensure you get the biggest bang for your buck. I have been using Turbo Tax to file my taxes since 2009. I am a little disappointed that the 2018 Standard edition did not transfer my personal information from the 2017 Standard edition, as all of the earlier editions did in previous years did. What's up with that?

very good program
My wife is a contractor and thus receives a T4E form for her income. It is entered as a T4E but also asked for on the form T2125. I am never sure where it should be entered, but cannot be shown in both places as it doubles the income. Noticed the same issue last year.

Problem

Good product - will continue to use. Would be helpful to have the file name across the top so you know which file you are in (when preparing multiple files). Why can't you save when you want? Have a search feature for what you have imputed - had trouble finding a screen I remembered entering information into. Price difference between standard and premium is high for what more you receive.

OK until I got to the CRA part
Everything was fine until I filed my wife's return and the CRA would let me set up her account because I wasn't registered as an agent. The taxes are filed, it's just getting the NOA through TurboTax. To make matters worse, I'm going to be filing more returns for other family members. It's never been a mess like this in the past.

Very Useful
Helps to do taxes. Help is not the best, usually have to search online to get my question answered. TurboTax sometimes directs you to webpages that don't exist.
When finished you go into a continual loop as the program will not let you exit, even when you state you have no more returns to do. Just won't let you exit

Review function could be improved
The tips, warnings, and errors in the review function could be improved by using the information available in the system to eliminate the need to review matters that don't apply or that have already been claimed, etc. I find it frustrating to see all these items (i.e. ensure the appropriate person is claiming medical or donations, when you've already used the optimizer, etc.) If you've already identified who is going to apply for Trillium Benefit or Seniors property tax grant, it should stop asking you. It makes you doubt you've done it, or perhaps done it incorrectly. These seem to be all default items programmed in even if the warnings, etc. don't apply to you. I'd like to see these review items be specific to your tax return file considering your age, events identified in return, slip information provided, etc.

Inteligent software
The questionnaire portions does a great job of assessing what needs to be entered in the filing process.
However, I had problems with running the Turbo tax updates. This was due to the fact my PC has multiple accounts and the one I used initially did not have Administrative privileges. So the updates were not saved and I had to run them everytime I logged in. Until I realized I had to use my Admin account.

Original Install is Poor
Have been using TurboTax software for almost 20 years. I typically purchase the CD and install on my desktop. This year the install process didn't work and it took almost an hour of troubleshooting and many attempts to re-install. This is unacceptable. Please advise what you will do to re-gain this customers confidence in your product.
