TT805 error
Installed software from CD and received TT805 error. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times.
Error persists.
Manual update thru website.
Not use to Intuit hickup.

Why Keep Prompting
Every time I start up Turbo Tax it keeps asking me (1) if I want to import my taxes and (2) register. I did this the first time, surely you can keep track of this and not keep prompting me.
A lot of your warnings are not applicable. You should be able to disable them from continuing to be asked.
Your registration process asks how long you have been using Turbo Tax. You need another options - "More than 5 years".

2018 Taxes
The split income is not accurate. I did it by hand (alot of time) and got a better result.Switching charitable donations from one to another did not reflect and change in the graph.If I change who will claim the deduction for charitable and medical it does not move the amounts to the other spouse showing a blank ws. I found this confusing.
I used the 800 number for help but got the USA help centre and he could not help and could not provide a canadian number. In help income splitting returned no results but splitting returned a result for income splitting. I found this version the worst over all. I will debate on staying with TT or trying something else.

Carry forward wrong RRSP amount
The carry forward amount for unused RRSP amount is wrong from 2017. If you are saying compability with old versions are your strong point than you should fix this bug.

Good Software
Overall, Good software. Easy to use. And doesn't cost much. I has a bit of trouble entering my installation key over the internet. It didn't work and caused my computer to freeze. I had to phone Turbo tax to get an activation code over the phone. After all that, I was good to go.

i have trouble fill out the schedule 11 online as that is the only form i was trying to fill out by form. unfortunately the font are some small I couldn't make it larger and i couldn't read it properly. some fields i couldn't fill. and there is no help to get on how to fill out the forms.

Good for what it is
I usually use the product for home business and individuals. This was my first time using this one, just because of circumstances this year. I will be back to home and business next year, but this product did the job it was designed to do - fairly simple and basic tax returns without a lot of complications.

Medical Deductions
When you have more medical deductions than you can use and it recommends that you carry over, it should tell you how much. Would make it easier.

Good, but at times annoying
Why does Turbotax keep asking whether I want to download slips from the CRA every time I open the file. I did it already
Similarly it asks me whether I want to print a copy of my return over and over again.
Sometimes it's difficult to get the information you want, if it's a Turbotax over-ride. I kept getting told that the amount was calculated automatically, but I couldn't find out what and why.

Problem areas
I had a lot of difficulties trying to find areas I wanted to correct and finally had to redo my whole return to correct one area.
When asked to use the Optimizer to find out if it's advantages, it would be greatly made a lot easier if it could direct me to the Optimizer I need use.

Changes from last year
This year using the standard version of the software I was not able to open the new files while using last years information. That meant that I had to enter all the personal information from scratch. This took up valuable time that I was able to save in previous years. I was disappointed as I complete 5 out of the 8 possible returns.

Gets it done every time
I hate doing my taxes. My return is very basic. I feel like I should be able to send my T4, piddly little T5 and my donation receipts to the CRA and let them figure it out. But TurboTax keeps it pretty simple. They are thorough with their questions and doublechecks and I'm usually done with this annoying slog in about an hour. That's entered, checked and filed. Not bad at all.

Fewer Annoyances this Year
For the most part the software worked well. In a few instances hitting continue took you back to a an earlier step in the software or you had to hit continue twice to go forward.

Good but non-applicable questions
why does Turbo Tax ask me if I want a Senior credit when it has my birthdate and I'm not even close to being a Senior? Also, very difficult to modify Business or Professional income.

buggy
The program was not as smooth as in prior years and it took several tries to get some information entered, some after weird workarounds.
2018 version was the oddest I've worked with and I have used the software for many years.

Program does what it is suppose to, one issue since day one is when the program moves to a new page I need to click on the page before my scroll button on my mouse works, also when I click "Don't show me this again", I mean, it but the program still tries to up sell!

got there, finally
I downloaded my forms from the CRA but had trouble with the T5008 forms. It was very time consuming to go thru each of them to indicate capital gains. My perennial complaint about T5013s - just run the numbers sequentially - much easier than searching thru 4 different forms to find (and usually not find) the number you are looking for.

Quick and easy
For over 20 years I have used TurboTax and its older relations I like to be in control and being self employed can easily enter expenses. This year I did have problems entering the climate credit info. Needed to override! to get my credit.

Auto-Fill Not For Faint of Heart!
THis is the first year I used autofill. Perhaps it wasn't available last year. I was afraid to use it twice since I didn't know if it would produce duplicates of T-slips, etc. Biggest problem was the T5008. I always use Sched 3 in the past. Help needs to be updated to be clear that T5008 should be deleted if Sched 3 worksheet is used instead. This caused me unnecessary anxiety when I went to Netfile and was told I could not Netfile with errors.
