Not the same as before
I have used this product several years and usually without any problems. This year, I contacted customer support re : software errors that kept coming back. Telephone support was artificial and did not follow through on promised support e-mail for my problem. Though I still like the product, I am VERY disappointed by the quality of the support and lack of followup for my problem. The problem appears to have been corrected with a subsequent software update (I think) but would have liked some kind of personal confirmation re the situation.

Solid product
Been using it for years, so I am familiar with it. That helps. Only drawback I notice is that I have info in some boxes that I can't access through the program and the program will sometimes look for me to enter info I don't have into other boxes. Otherwise, very good.

Sometimes not so user friendly!
I get warnings when there shouldn't be any warnings, sometimes credits are added based on a question but it doesn't tell me what credit was added. Eg MB Educational School tax credit, which I already had an advance for that credit and I would have filed my return incorrectly. If I didn't have as much knowledge as I do about turbo tax and my own taxes it could have caused some big headaches for some people in the future.
Overall I still love this software! I've been mentioning this issue for multiple years now and it hasn't been corrected yet.

Good for the Money
TurboTax Standard is a decent product for the money. I used to find it completely satisfactory and easy to use. As my life situation has grown more complex (spouse working from home, trying to claim medical benefits or complex pension repayments for maternity leave), I am beginning to wonder if I need a more advanced product or a professional.

Gone backwards?
Been using the intuit tax package for about 15 years. This year has to be the worst for User Interface. When entering information for things like medical deductions, the interface is extremely limited and suffers from poor navigation. When using the back button, it takes you out of that section and back several pages at time. Trying to review entries is almost impossible in Easy Step mode now...instead you have to walk back through every step again. Might be helpful if they designed it for a PC and not a smart phone. This was the most frustrating Tax I've done in years with this package. Upsides...the links to the T4 and CRA sites work well. At least when the CRA sites are up.

Painful Glitch!
TurboTax somehow concluded that I owned farming property, although I never did. It entered a false credit that caused the CRA to reject my Netfile submission. I was unable to find a trigger for this error in my responses to questions.

filing multiple returns
Overall this product is good. I have used it for several years; however, this time around it kept me in a loop each time I wanted to file the next return. I file 3 additional returns every year and this is the first time this has happened. Baaahhh.

Missed an important feature
It was smooth sailing until I need to pay CRA. Turbo Tax asked me what method of payment, which I choose "Debit". I was expecting to be directed to the payment process but it didn't.

Used Turbotax for years
Perhaps I did something wrong but could not get the year over year comparison of income and expenses to show up for a review (which is a feature I like). Normally would rate this product a five star.. Easy to use and easy to file on-line.

Very Helpful
Been using Turbo Tax for years, very helpful, easy to use and navigate. Had to go to the CRA website to find information for vehicle medical travel allowance, and how to claim disability credit for my wife, but was easy to find and then input into Turbo Tax.

endless loop
The program still does not accept "0" for the amount of the education tax advance.
After sending in Net Files the program loops and doesn't end, so I'm stuck having to rate the program to see if I can exit.

Easier than you think
I submitted a simple return for myself with T4 income, my wife with no income and 4 kids. We have only simple deductions (RRSPs) etc. PROS: The process was easy to follow and the autofill option from CRA makes things very simple. Completing at home makes it more convenient, especially when my documents are mostly paper-free.
CONS: There are some instances when tax-specific information is needed. The program provides helpful definitions of terms but some people may find this daunting.
My wife has no income and I wasn't initially able to NETFILE. I kept getting an error message but all my information was correct. In the end I was able to check the forms and make a small correction myself but this was after going through the same frustrating loop a couple of times. It was not an obvious solution.

Turbo Tax does the job. However it could be somewhat easier for people from Quebec who must file 2 returns. We get 2 sets of slips to enter, (Relevee and T slips). Using the "friendly" method it is very easy to enter the same data twice which effectively doubles ones income etc. I found errors and corrected them using the forms method to be much easier and did not introduce errors. Turbo should inform users of this problem and how to avoid it.

Reliable product!
Been using for at least 5 years. Works awesome...But last few years, I've gotten continuous script errors trying to finish the tail end of returns. Have to click "Yes" continuously to finish. Running Windows 10 (laptop).

Makes things simple
I've used TurboTax since it was QuickTax - around 17 years now. Once in a while I've tried other software, but it never seems to measure up. Sometimes it seems a bit more tedious than necessary, but all-in-all, still the best in my books.
