Explanations??
Explanations regarding income splitting are unclear but all else is good. The warnings and review sections ask questions as if you hadn't entered some of the items already.

Easy to Use
I have used Turbo Tax for many years now and find it very simple. Even when I have a question, there is a way to get information about how the tax return is to be completed. If there was a free program from the government, I would still buy Turbo Tax because it imports lots of information from the previous year's return.

SOME PROBLEMS
Re deceased taxpayer- little info available. It accepted death benefit which does not go on deceased's income. Two years medical not alerted until the review.
The review did not seem to recognize deceased taxpayer.

Use of Intuit
I have used subject for over 10 years and am happy with their program. The 2018 program had some new issues for me but, I managed to overcome them with very little help. Keep up the good work. I will use Intuit again for 2019.

Even when I answered no on some of the questions in the profile i still got asked in the easy step portion. ei: did you sell your principal residence i said no and in the easy step there were more questions about it.

Quebec Portion Really Needs Work
I have been using TurboTax since 2010 (prior it was Quick Tax). You should give the option to choose "More than 5 years" when asking how long we have been using!
I understand that the majority of your users are NOT from Quebec but as we do use the software and it is therefore important that we have access to the HELP screens on EACH page. For e.g. Eligible tax relief measures (amount with respect to age or for retirement income) has no Help. I tried F1, then the Menu bar Help related to this option and then the actual Help icon itself. No HELP on this screen. Several pages like that. I had to call and report it. MORE testing required for Quebec.
Also, did you sell stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, or other property this year? Yes No Please Add "NOT REPORTED ON A T5008" - Otherwise it is redundant and your software tries to make you re-do Schedule 3 again whereas I have already input my "detailed" T5008 which transcribes to my Schedule 3.
If there is a place to make further suggestions or offer to Test your software (as I am a Retired IT Business Analyst) I would gladly do so from an End User perspective.

Good software a bit pricey
Easy to use , a bit long using the easy-step method , but once familiar with the interface it goes smoothly. A good product (I am a longtime user...since 1998 when it was called QuickTax) but it is too expensive and needs a price reduction. Especially for longtime users ;-)

Excellent except for US Social Security
There are 2 contradicting instructions for entering US Social Security benefits. One says to go in and enter it on a line in the form. The other appears on a menu. If you do both, you're in trouble. Better to use the menu, but it's buried in the

ReFile 2017 is poor documented and difficult 2 use
I found an unused RRSP receipt for my 2017 return. When I tried to look up the refile it did not explain how to do the refile. I stumbled through it not sure if I did it correctly. Intuit: it would be much better if you had a step by step help window that explained how to do it as I complete the steps in Turbotax

MAC...PLEASE!
Hi. Been using your product for over 10 years. PLEASE have a MAC version of all your TurboTax software available for download so that we can install it on our MACs. No box to print, no DVD to write, just $$$ and happy customer for you. Using Windows version via Parallels Desktop

TurboTax does not appear to recognize a very common situation of a couple with moderate income where one is in a care facility. This leads to very high medical expenses. If the medical expenses are put on the person with the lowest income this can lead to non-refundable tax credits way in excess of tax due, thereby wasting some of these tax credits, leaving the other partner with tax to pay. The medical expenses need to be split. A person has to know the tax system well enough to recognize this and split the medical expenses which is is not that simple with turbotax

Printing issues
All I want to print is the T1General but it spewed out 32 pages. That was only my husbands return. In this day and age I should be able to choose what I want to print. Because of the amount of paper it took plus ink I chose NOT to print my return. You need to fix that because it is a terrible waste of paper

commodity trouble
First year ever for trouble with Turbo Tax. I opened the help field for commodity codes and it took me to the AgriStability program lists of codes. The AgriStability page listed two digit codes and cra required a three digit code. TurboTax should take the user to the cra website list of codes. Would have saved a phone call. End result TurboTax phone support helped me out.

Very good continuous improvement over the years, but often encounter problems saving files:
TurboTax chooses where to save files (rather than allow user to specify as an option up front)
Sometimes the save option is unavailable (grayed out) without an explanation.

Could use some improvement
Foreign Pension Income - never automatically enters the Exemption under Other Deductions even though I answer the question that it is exempt under a tax treaty. Needs to be automatic or a clear indication under the Other Deductions that it needs to be applied manually.

Easy to Use
I found this program much better to navigate through than last years program. The only complaint I would have about this program is not deleting unnecessary sections. This is especially frustrating, when saying NO to income splitting, 7-8 pages of paper are still printed on this subject. You are wasting my paper and ink.
Apart from this issue, I would have to say I am very pleased with the ease in using the program. Being able to move backwards and forward is easier this year. Thanks
