Much easier than I anticipated
The only issue I had with using the software was for my daughter's RRSP; she didn't know her contribution limit so it would not allow me to enter her contribution - this was not a big deal since it was less than $100 so would have made little difference but was a little irritating.

I like this product and have used it for several years. I do taxes for a few of my family members, some of which do not have computers. Only problem I have is when printing the question is asked do I want blank sheets deleted before printing. I always say yes but they print anyway. That is a waste of paper and toner so please correct that problem in future products. Thank you.

now easy
I was always confused about the RRSP and the Home Owners Buyer repayment. Questions I found wasn't clear enough, Finally figured out that I had to include RRSP contribution and mark of a repayment to the Home Owners Buyers program. Now all is well.......I hope.

I find this year's version auto filing unnecessary forms as for example principal residence designation when our residence has not been sold. Also would be nice to view and print taxe calculation tables from the Quebec filing.

Used TurboTax for many years
I had one problem. The updates could not be made automatically with the internet. I was
able to download the March-14th update from TurboTax.com and install it myself. Thanks to the SUPPORT person that helped me Thru. the process!

The amount of paper used per return is obscene!!! There has to be a way to reduce paper usage . You should have a alternate paper record that has the relevant info and does not require 30 plus pages to be printed, when you have submitted online.

Great Product....But
For the most part, the app is great. However, when claiming for medical expenses, entering the cost of private medical plans and travel expenses related to obtaining medical services needs to be clearer. I had to switch to the forms mode in order to enter the info. Also the per km rate is not in the app so I had to access the CRA sight and search for the info. This should all be contained within Turbo Tax Standard and accessible in the Easy Step mode.

The only problems I found this year were the amount of pages it printed for the copy I made for my records (33 was excessive as some were not required) As my wife passed last year I also had to print and mail her return and that was not bad at 11 pages, but I could not do a joint filling so had to keep refering to the other spouses return and each time I did it closed the one I was working on and opened the other so took way longer than usual. I have been using this program for a good number of years and this was the first time I had any problems with it.

I NETFILE my return and , before printing a file copy, choose yes to eliminate printing of unnecessary pages. Printout includes 7 TOSI forms, all blank. What a waste of paper.

a bit difficult to review
I like to be able to go back and check the input of every single Tslip. It is hard to do it with this version. The search for information is also a bit difficult to use. However, it does the job and i really like the review and warnings components.

Great Way to do Taxes
I like Turbo Tax because you can import your tax slips directly from CRA into the program. It puts all of the information right where it needs to be in the forms without typing. My only complaint has to do with the Medical Expenses. You enter all of the medical expense information but if you can't use it and you don't want to claim it because you might be able to use next year, you have to delete all of the information rather than being able to get the program to save it and carry it forward to try again next year. Plus when you have to delete the information you have delete line by line. Very awkward implementation. That's why I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise loved the program.

Pet Peeves
1. At then end of a page, you have to hit the CONTINUE button; sometimes single, sometimes double. Can't you make these consistent?
2. Early on, you're asked for your Spousal's income amount. Often you don't have it yet. As you proceed, you accumulate a large refund balance. This drastically changes once you enter a Spousal income amount. Does that have to be so? Very confusing!
