Very good program except for the Refile. I received a T slip after I netfiled and called CRA and they said it was easy to resubmit my tax form by Refile in Netflix, but I could not find a refile that worked. I had to resubmit the tax return using normal netfile. Hopefully it will be ok.

Over all Good Program
Seem I always have a problem loading the program from the disk. Auto load never seems to work and no instruction as to how to override it and I Manual install the program which can be done by hitting the setup.exe on the disk. Also more info or descriptions in laymen terms of some area would be helpful. In particular the OAS section and splitting pension Income and still staying below the Clawback level. They warn you of repercussions but don't explain what they are and how to avoid them.
Also found in T5 Slips entries where not included in my income when i missed the box specifying the type of investment they were. Only at the review did they mention it and then included it in the income and surprising me the refund i was looking at through the whole process was different in the review. I thought I did some thing wrong and realized later what cause the problem.
Still a very good program for taxes

We have been happy with this software, it is easy to use and import our previous year's information, which is why we use it year after year. My only complaint is the cost, which is continually going up, it would be great if it was half the cost for loyal customers.

Costly software for two
It should be a cheaper version just for a family of two; it's expensive considering that allows for 10 fillings and it's just used for two...

Good Purchase Year After Year
For basic/Standard non complicated taxes you cant beat this. Information is easy to enter once you have everything. That's the the key. Make sure you have all your documents before filing.

Gets the job done
Its pretty easy to use, and if you have used it before it will remember most of the information and auto-fill. My only issue is it never remembers the main things we use, and so every year I still have to answer all the questions. I wish there was a "has anything changed since last year" option, where it brings up the forms you always use if there are no changes.

Good Program
I like using Turbo Tax, however, there is an issue with the calculation for the CPP exemption on employment income while having self employed income after the age of 65. We have filed a CPT30 in prior years - every year I have this issue where I have to mail the return rather than efile because the program believes that I have an error. Unfortunately the links to the online help result in an error so I am unable to find out if indeed, I am incorrectly completing the forms or if there is an issue with the program.
Otherwise, I love this program as the help seems to be very good - with of course, the exception indicated above.

Frustration with Netfile changes
I am not sure I like the auto netfile feature. One return filed just fine. The other didn't but I have no idea why. Tried various options and used 3/5 of my netfile "tries" and still don't know if I have a real problem OR if it is because CRA website is down (could not log into MyAccount). I would EASILY like to be able to create & manually netfile my return. Can't see how to get to this point without using another "try". Would like to KNOW why it is failing in other words.

A User-Friendly Product
One does not have to be an income tax consultant to use TurboTax Standard. While it is convenient to have the ability to download a PDF copy of the completed tax return, it is very disappointing that the return is watermarked! What stroke of genius would have prompted the product designers to deny the end user the ability to print a pristine copy of their tax return? Purchasing TurboTax Standard should give full rights to the end user in this matter!

We'll Keep Using it!
Hopefully, next year's version have a more robust RRSP input section. This year's version glitched with the RRSP sections... we attempted to make corrections... and it claimed we had submitted >2 RRSP accounts in our family (we ended up backing out of the section and re-doing that particular section). This year's version had the most stream-lined section (yet) for optional medical deductions. This year's NETFILE tool was the most automated yet! This is an excellent program to use.

many happy returns
This year I found an error in the RRSP section. Unused contribution appears as a deduction on line 208,
Quebec taxpayers being unique have some problems with Quebec forms, In case of T3 and T5, the name of the company is not transported to RL forms. It will help
In the case of T3, the amount from box 42 is not transported to box M. Thank you it is a very good product and I will use it next year

Would be great if Prior Year's Tax Return Info can be accessed from current year's TurboTax program once prior year's data has been transferred over; otherwise you need to have the 2017 TurboTax to open your 2017 Tax Return which is not convenient if you lost your 2017 Program Code.

Hello. I always have a problem with "Other Income"! It takes me a frustrating long time to figure out where to enter the figure, e.g. 'Sherwood Co-op Patronage' - Income Tax Deducted on a T4. Didn't know where to show this in 'Turbo'. Sent inquiry to Community and had already mailed return by the time received answer. Maybe you might, under 'Other Income', be more specific in the instruction?! Thank you! Otherwise, good Program!!

Good for Beginners
I didn't give it a perfect rating only because I was confused about how I would submit my total medical expenses (I had printed my blue cross summary in case I had enough to claim - which I didn't). I found the set up more for individual receipts. Otherwise it was easy and straight forward.

Mostly good
Our family (extended family) have used TurboTax standard for over 5 years, never had a problem until this year. Easy to use the step by step process and language is easy to understand. At the very end unfortunately we were unable to NetFile or print our returns. Very unhelpful error messages, tried to troubleshoot it ourselves for a week, no success. Contacted the customer service phone number, the representative did not speak good english and it proved to be a frustrating conversation (15+ tries to spell out our email address in order to look up our account, no other way to find it like a phone number or name).
Ultimately it seems like the software was corrupt and Turbo Tax did provide us with a link to uninstall and install a new version of the software. This fixed the problem and everything was smooth after that.
