Problems this year
I've been using Turbo Tax for many years for my personal returns. I am a CPA, so I am experienced preparing tax returns for both individuals and businesses.
I found several errors with this year's version of the program. At times amounts filled in were not showing up on the schedules. Plus, the advice it was giving for which return to apply medical expenses to was not correct - it didn't take into account that the lower income individual did not have enough income to use the credits.

Consistent ease
Have purchased the program for several years now. The process is overall quick and easy. The only issue I found this year was switching between the help screen and the easy step input screen, several times it took repeated attempts before the screen would switch. Also found the refund amount sometimes did not appear to be accurate, by the end though, the amount was correct. I will continue to purchase the program.

easy peasy
following the "easy" selection makes the whole tax effort a real treat. The price is right for making tax time uncomplicated. However, I did find a problem at the end trying to exit the program, not sure why, a glitch of somekind.

Easy to use
I used the Easy Entry approach. It went well except for one step, importing data from CRA. When the data was imported, it stated an income that included Unused Tuition amounts.
Otherwise it was easy.

MISMANAGED PURCHASE

good but easier last year
Overall good but entering medical and donations difficult to go back and edit what you had already input. I ended up entering one twice and I found it was not as simple as deleting it to fix. Other than that, easy to use

Easy to use
My only issue with the program is that it constantly tries to put the medical expenses to my spouse even though that would cost us more in taxes. Also the optimizer for charitable donations is not working (at the moment). Otherwise excellent.

Easier this Time!
Once I figured out a work around for the CD for installation on my PC that refused to install properly, the rest was smooth sailing. It was so nice to finally have the medical expenses forms so easy to locate....it was automatic this time! I wish TurboTax Standard had an option for just 2 returns instead of having to pay for 8 though!

Have to try several times
You cannot get your job done in one pass. You have to go back and force 2-3 times to make sure you enter all the info and correctly. For example, this software will not take you back to import Quebec sheets after it guides you to import the Federal ones. And sometimes following its guidance you will enter a same form more than once. In short, do it at least two times to ensure you get everything right and reach your maximum return.

Good Product
I have been using TurboTax for over 7 years and I fond the product easy to use. Because of ever changing tax laws, TurboTax must keep up with all the new changes and that could sometimes be challenging for them to provide everything flawlessly. When you have questions, search for answers on their Website or Google it. I am sure someone else has asked that question and it has been answered as I have experienced it before.

Generally fairly easy to use
Generally, is fairly easy to use.
There was some disappointment when my T4 didn't auto fill into this years' forms, despite two attempts.
Would be nice to have an auto save as well, I stepped away from my computer and it chose to do a restart, so I lost the first attempt at the 2018 form.

Long Time User
I have used this product and its predecessors back to 1990 (CanTax). This version is the best by far but it does not include all worksheets like the one for schedule 1. When TurboTax calculates a value, I would like to be able to see how they came to that. Otherwise a great product but I reduced it to 4 stars because of the foregoing.

Getting easier but with a few glitches
Saving and filing using netfile is now very easy. Problems:
1. Could not enter installment payments for Quebec using Easy Steps. Had to do it using forms

Fix Recurring Problems
There are problem areas (some noted last year) that need to be fixed.
The TurboTax Registration prompt is presented each time the application is opened. It implies registration is necessary to ensure access to critical product services. I have your Canadian subscription service so as far as I can tell, product registration is not necessary. The same thing happened last year. There should be a way of suppressing this annoying pop up.
The Auto Fill My Return prompt shows up every time I open my return. Again there should be a way of turning this off. Worse yet, while others may find this feature useful, I decided to give it a try and found it caused more trouble than it’s worth. I found that T3 and T5 slips issued by Mackenzie Financial where reported as separate items for each fund reported on the slip whereas, when entered manually all I need to do is enter the summarized information from the paper form. Worse yet, some of the income reported on my paper slip was missing from the downloaded version of the Mackenzie information. My conclusion was that it took longer to check each line item than to simply enter the summary information manually. As a result it was simpler for me to start over from the beginning.
I have never liked the EasyStep Interview method you provide and always simply use the Forms Method to complete my return. One problem that cropped up this year and I think may have occurred last year was the inability to directly enter the amount for Line 476 - Tax paid by instalments. I found a reference to this issue in your online forum where it appeared the only solution available was to use the EasyStep Interview process to enter this information. Obviously, it is not appropriate for force users to use such a long winded and inconvenient process simply to complete one line of the return.
Also, as a customer service gesture, it’s time you provided a Mac version of TurboTax. As I understand it, the online version of TurboTax does not allow use of the Forms Method. That leaves me stuck with the constant annoyance of having to run a Windows virtual machine on my Mac for the sole purpose of running TurboTax.
