Easy to use
If your taxes are pretty simple I suggest Turbo tax. One year I went and got my taxes done by a company for a second opinion and they were exactly the same but cost me more.

Best way to prepare tax submission
I have used Turbotax for several years, and find that it is easy to use, and works well. However, this year it seemed to me that the optimisers for medical expenses and charitable donations were not working. It wasn't really a problem, as it was easy to optimise manually, but this is the first time I have had any sort of problem.

Just a bit better could make it perfect
It asks questions as it creates decision rules..but some of it is repetitive. It would be better if the sequence of questions asked could be more integrated.

could not update
spent many hours trying to update. Call center spent alot of time trying to figure out problem. Eventually had to manually download the update. Worst time ever and I have been using TurboTax for 9 yrs.

Only problem is...
TurboTax is great but the only problem is that it is difficult actually finish a return. I just get caught in a loop asking me if I want to save/print my return and never seem to be able to fully finish with the return and getting back to the home/start screen.

My Personal Experience
This was an acceptable year for this program. It pulled information directly from your T4 Slips and other information. It didn't pull the information from some items. but overall, very great. It saved a lot of time.

Good with loading Problem
I have used Turbotax for 9 years. This year is the first time that I have had problems.
I have a new computer with Windows 10. The tax program would not load properly. I had to run a compatability program and it reset something so that the program would load using an older version of windows. Everything seamed to work properly after that.

Dependable Info/Quick Calculations

great and easy to use, just make sure you save a copy in a .tt file not just a pdf. With saving the right type of file you can upload all your basic info next year. There should be a warning when it asks you to save again saying that this is the type needed for next year.

TurboTax 2019
TurboTax is a great program for even basic users. Quick, easy to follow and with Netfile I get my refund back in my bank account in usually under 10 days. The only issue I've had is when I do my taxes in stages as I get my Info slips. It can be awkward to just add anther T5 or Contribution receipt when I receive them late. It would be nice if the screens would just let you jump right into a T5 or contribution input screen like the one you use when doing the easy step way.

Great Product - Some click buttons need work
I love this and have used it for the past several years. It makes things simple even with extra forms. However there were a couple of places that clicks didn't register. The most notable was the agree to netfile checkbox. This took two clicks for both myself and my husband. I work with software professionally and I know I clicked the correct spot the first time. Something to pay attention to when using the software.

Hard to find where to fill in form
When you ask for form to fill in the line numbers don`t appear so not sure where the information is to be entered, wastes time trying to find correct place to input. Yellow box won`t allow input, frustrating, Help info of little no use. ASK SPECIFIC QUESTION specific box or line and Get all kinds of information but nothing that is for what was requested.

try improving
I like Turbo Tax but I want you to try a different approach for combined tax forms. I file for my wife and myself. I would STRONGLY prefer that your software would allow me to complete all my forms first as in T4,T4A,T3,T5,T5008 etc. THEN let me fill in my Wife's information next. This would flow MUCH faster for me. I would take each tax slip sorted for myself and complete the filing then do the same for my wife. Thanks.

ok for the money
The Standard is a good purchase if you have multiple people to do taxes. However if it is just one online is probably better. would be nice if it was a little cheaper and had maybe 4 returns, as I don't use all of the returns offered.

The repayment of HBP must have only two question :
Are you paying back into the plan?

Efficient way to do taxes
Generally works well but it is worth checking suggestions made by program e.g. the charitable donation information doesn’t show different results when you enter the other spouse in the boxes on the DON form. The charitable donation optimizer doesn’t change results when toggling between spouses. The pension split optimizer doesn’t show the optimum split (often 50%) although it’s close to 50 %.
