I went back to installing the CD version instead of downloading from the internet as I did last year. No issues or problems this year compared to last year when I had to constantly change the password. Will not use the internet download again.

Down Loads

Too much filing effort
Turbo Tax does the calculations from my input all correct, and then says "I made errors do it again"
Do the calculations correctly and reduce warnings substantially

Issues with this years software
I have been using this software from late 90's and it has been great over the years to do my taxes, but this year and last year the program does not allow you to exit it unless you close it. It asks you if you want to prepare another return. I say yes and it takes me back to the screen that says if I want to save my return. And it keeps coming back to that screen over and over. It is annoying. This is the second year in a row that this has happened. Intuit need to fix this. Otherwise the software is great! Have used it for more than 20 years and love it. Accurate and easy to use. I have never gotten an incorrect return.

Overall pretty easy
Overall this program is very easy to use. I feel safe trusting it to do a good job; however, there are some help issues when it comes to employment expenses. The included help files do not do a good enough job explaining some of the sections.

Easy and Quick, simple file

Good Product with 1 Annoying Bug
I have used TurboTax for years and it has 1 annoying bug that hasn't been corrected for at least 3 years. It is necessary to pretend to change a changeable date in the T1 General form in order to change things like address, and respond to some of the questions on the form.

Very difficult to input teacher expense credit once started on easy steps. All turbo tips were not helpful to the 2018 tax file. After many attempts to directly input line 468 I gave up. this was my only concern. It cost me the price of the software

Very few problems
Firstly, I think it is sleazy that we were encouraged to upgrade to the next level because "one or more of the following..." applied. None of them applied. Secondly, the new climate action credit was calculated correctly by Turbotax, but it was not showing in the tax summary. The advice received from others did not work. After saving the return I could see that it was included as a tax credit, but that should have shown up in the summary. Other than that I am very pleased with Turbotax and will use it again.

Text size difficult

Nice Improvements 2018
TurboTax has kept consistent high quality over the years. We don't use anything over standard, and it has always been easy to use and effective.
Best improvement this year is the ease in filing with CRA - this was a very nice surprise - seamless and quick.

The Capital gains section does not allow you to put in the amount of shares. Keeps coming up with a window indicating that you have to put in value as 9999.99. The process at this point freezes further operation. I finally put in only the Book Value and Net Proceeds Value and then the program computed the net amount of gain when completing the final steps of the total tax program. Even asked a tax expert and they could not help me. Something wrong with process or terminology. If I proceeded wrongly I would like to know what I did wrong. Thank you.
