Very Good, Could be the BEST
I have been very satisfied using TurboTax for years, even used its predecessor WinTax… I am very comfortable with Canadian Tax form requirements but still use the TurboTax Easy-Step process... its only shortfalls are that the help is not linked to the CRA guidebook, and the medical expenses (if you want detail) can't be pasted (I download my health insurances into Excel, then I must enter manually to TT). Otherwise it works great for my relatively simple tax situations.

Couple of Bugs
(1) When adding medical expenses under my spouse, if lets me add one expense. Thereafter, I can only add additional expenses under my own name. Fortunately, the Medical Expense Optimizer can be used to correct this. (2) When claiming disability deductions for 2 dependents, I incorrectly specified "Amount for Eligible Dependent". Subsequently, I then received an error messaged stating that I could not claim this deduction due to the dependent being over age 18. I was able to remove the claim for deduction for the first dependent but not for the 2nd dependent. Despite multiple attempts where I removed the check in the box for the deduction, it did not register the change. I kept getting the error that I could not claim the deduction for the dependent. Was finally able to remove the claim for deduction for the 2nd dependent by restarting Turbotax and redoing the return from the beginning until reaching the claim for deduction at which point, I was able to remove the claim. NOTE: I think this is the way I removed the claim as I was pretty frustrated with Turbotax at the time. (3) When adding a Charitable Donation, it is not clear that the field labeled "Registered Charities" is where you specify the amount donated. The field is completely blank when first used and the label does not adequately describe the meaning of the field.

Error Problem
Had a problem after I had the taxes complete. Couldn't print. Able to contact Turbo Tax by phone finally and got the problem fixed.

Excellent Step by Step
When I placed a %age investment entry I expected it to show up on my wife's list of investments. When it didn't, I made the entry myself. It resulted in double summary entries on both returns. I was able to delete the duplication and gain the correct result.

one glitch
Very good software. One glitch - when you click on the Save a PDF copy, you cannot save it to your own designated folder... so be very careful where TurboTax saves it and then transfer it to your own folder.

Use every year
Turbotax continue to improve this product each year. Downloads of tax receipts directly from CRA are helpful and should be continued to be expanded. Would like to see the input of spousal split of income improved by allowing to make a percent input rather than an amount

One little detail
When I come to the end of one tax session and it asks if I want to start a NEW return and I answer YES. It takes me back to the return I am just finished with so I have to close and reopen to be able to start another one. Not a huge deal but a little irritating.

Useful software
I've been using turbo tax for years. It's a good piece of software. I would like some of the descriptions in the help menu to be more conversational rather than pulling directly from the CRA textbook. I'll be using Turbo Tax again next year.

I've used this many years with few issues!
I've used Quick Tax and now Turbo Tax to complete and netfile my Income Tax for many years with very few issues. I have been reassessed several times but once backup documentation was emailed no issues in my tax filings have been found or been of issues with the CRA.

Need better error precision
When there is an error, it is not always evident the source of the error. Ex: Error code for the conflict of information about living alone was actually incomplete Solidarity Tax Credit information.

Easy but hard to import last years pdf
I filed with TurboTax online last year; this year I used CD. Unfortunately the application through the CD was not able to import pdf info so I had to fill everything from scratch. Info on importing pdf online is irrelevant as the same functions/tools not available in the CD software as mentioned. Absolutely disappointed with that.

Its good, but...
It's simple to use. It's detailed. It's informative. It helps you to get yourself your credits in an easy way. But....like all Intuit products it wants to be very invasive. It wants your email during registration and you cannot say no. You cannot say no to them sending you email after email. It wants you to buy more, audit defense for example even though you paid good money for the software to begin with. They want to gather info about your use of the software but "they remove your ID". It's good, but invasive.

It Works
It does the job of putting your taxes together and getting them submitted. I did notice some carry forward information not dollars that went a little wrong. Address of rental property was messed up. Some usability issues such as a Start and a Continue button on the same page (which do I click??).
Overall works for what I want it to do. Mine and the family's taxes.

Completion of Return
After successful netfiling, Turbo Tax is looping through 3 or 4 screens (audit assistance, feedback, print/save, do you have another return). When you say No at the end, it should give you a complete/close screen instead of looping. No way to get out of the loop except closing Turbo Tax manually. Should be cleaner for the user.

Gets Better Every Year
I find that TT gets better every year and is quite simple to use. My only observation this year is that in some areas, the print/font is too light on the screen.It needs to be darkened for the benefit of older eyes.

2018 Turbo Tax
I completed my tax return this way last year and did not find it complicated..This year I find it is different and I have had some complications. I finally got through and then after I submitted my return I could not end the session. I am hoping after I complete the survey I am allowed to end the session.
