Great Purchase

Good but still has issues
For the last 2 years I have had the issue that TurboTax does not recognize the Employment Classification Code # that is taken directly off the CRA site, so therefore I cannot Netfile.
Disappointing to say the least.

Just a few issues...
This product is generally a very good product that is easy to use. There are a few glitches that would have caused some problems for people in the same situation. Thank goodness I have been doing this for years and when the easy step missed a question and did not have a place to add the CPP info, I knew how to go to the forms and enter it manually. But I worked it out, I believe.

Good but One Warning

Recommendations
Simple and very easy to use
Would like to make two suggestions, when printing confirmation number it prints 3 pages, two with headers only -- wasting paper, also on the personnel section it is too hard to read across the lines to check the boxes, need spaces in between each question

Planning copy of filed return
I like to use the previous year's return (2017) to do my tax planning for the next year (2018).
In previous years I have been able to make a copy of the file forwarded to Revenue Canada, modify it with my forecast items, and do a reasonable tax planning forecast. This year I cannot make an unlocked file copy of the previous year's return. Therefore I cannot use TurboTax for tax planning without starting a new return, re-entering all of the data and selecting all of the options/features exactly as is in the file forwarded/accepted by Revenue Canada . Bad move by TurboTax.
FYI, for integrity purposes, I do support the idea of locking the file which is forwarded to Revenue Canada. But, I should be able to make a clearly marked unlocked copy of the locked file forwarded to Revenue Canada and modify it as needed for planning purposes.

As a first time user, I found it more difficult / time consuming than expected. Uncertainty of getting our fullest possible return without paying an extra fee was slightly bothersome. If your taxes are pretty straight forward however, I would still recommend using turbo tax rather than paying someone to do it, as you'll save a few hundred dollars.

I use it because I always have
I continue to use Turbotax because I have been using it for several years. It carries forward my information and allows me to get my taxes done more quickly. It works well, I have no complaints. Each year, I just wonder if there is an equally easy way to do my taxes without having to pay for this software, but it works, and so I haven't changed.

Multi-year user
I have used TurboTax (and its predecessor QuickTax) for over 10 years and have found it to be easy to use and accurate.
My only complaint is, beginning the 2016 version, when you open the program there is a dialog box allowing you to automatically load the info in T4 and other forms. I do not want to use that feature and there is no way to prevent the form from loading every time you open a return, which has become very annoying.
I recommend that for the 2018 year there is an option to turn off that dialogue box.

Good Program
Only encountered one glitch - provincial tuition credits area of EasyStep ask for the dollar amount, but if you fill it in ( after filling in the federal section), it will double the amount on the ON S11 and create an error. Otherwise - great, easy program
