Confusing Medical Expenses Review
It would be more helpful if Turbo Tax kept a record of Medical Expenses (when their total exceeds the threshold? Or limit. I forget the wording.) to carry over to next year's. Just like Turbo Tax does for for charitable donations.

Not Bad..
A good package.
Could explain importing T slip data better.
When working on a joint return, a display of each person's balance would help.
Example: A couple does not own money but, one with $2000.00 refund/ one owes $3000.00...

ok but has bugs in Quebec forms
BAD gui design in the Quebec Solidarity Tax Credit section. There is no 'clear form' button and going back and then forward again doesn't clear out the warning about entering both number of owners and the municipal cadaster number, and then you get stuck. Even going back and then choosing no eligible to the solidarity tax credit and then forward again doesn't clear out the solidarity form. I had to go back farther and close the tax file and then re-open to get around this bug.

Needs work on T5013 Forms
Good overall. When entering a T3 or T5 slip for a joint account the software allows for splitting of the income between spouses. It does not allow it for T5013 which creates a lot of extra work to manually split the income and enter it twice.

Split Donation
In the past, I can always split my donation with my spouse, this year it do not let me, if I do, then I had to mail my return instead of net file. Do not like that at all.

Needs a Good Tutorial
This is a good product but it would be better if it had a simple tutorial that could be viewed
at the start of the process in order to give users an overview of how the program works and
to explain its main features and functions.

Had a Number of Difficulties This Year
1> I had a difficult time with T5008 form this year. It is a joint account & there was no way to have the program split up the earnings between us; I had to do it all manually: divide 3 amounts in 19 accounts in half, then change the numbers (that had been downloaded from CRA) for one person, & then enter all the data for the other person, then check that I had NOT made any typo errors - and, after all that, it made little difference in the final refund (that part is not programs fault). It should be easier than that, just like for T3s & T5s.
2> I have unused RRSP contributions, but I am retired and can no longer use them. I keep changing the Schedule 7 entry, but the info keeps getting carried forward to the next year. This year, I did not notice it was carried forward & sent my return with it included as a deduction - It made the difference between a small return (incorrect) & a small amount (correct) owing.
3> The program got "stuck" while I was trying to do some registration on the CRA site (for seeing something in advance). I let it try to resolve itself for about 2 minutes, but eventually had to close the program, The program doesn't seem to know that I have already submitted my return.

Pretty good
Generally Straightforward and mostly easy to use. Just wish they would have an exit button at the end that would properly close the program and bring you back to your desktop. When you just exit the program in the top right corner you're afraid you're going to mess something up.

Almost perfect
There are still some details that I had to go to the web to find that were not in the help menu, like the changes to safe deposit boxes.
When finishing one return and wanting to start a fresh one the software loops back to the file save instead.

Not what it used to be
I have been using TurboTax for over 10 years now. It is not as simple to use as it used to be. Menus are difficult to find and the print is TINY on my Windows 10 machine. Sure, you have changed it over the years, but you have not made it better. it is worse. sorry......

2 Returns for cheaper price
We've been using Turbotax for several years because it is easy to use but we just use 2 returns every year. Your only option in the market is single return and 8 returns. We hope you can have a product for 2 returns at a cheaper price.

Fast, Easy and Accurate
I have been using TurboTax (formerly QuickTax) for over 20 years now and have yet to have any problems because of it. Completing taxes was always quick and painless. Love that we can import our CRA forms now...

DLC Not just for Games any more
The software works well, and is relatively easy to use, but by golly Turbotax/Intuit takes the opportunity to try to advertise and sell you additional services at almost every turn. While I appreciate that there are extra services available, I don't want to have them offered after every step, and given that I joint filed with my wife we got to see them twice... When I'm doing my taxes I kind of want to get it over with, not be constantly advertised or "Special offered" to; if I wanted more of that I would play a game on Facebook, or made by EA.

Consistent program
Always love this program. There is a few improvements could be made in extra information for capital gains etc. but most things are fairly easy to enter and calculate well automatically. People should know that if you do not enter your property tax or rent you will not get any extra Ontario supplement.

Smooth as ever!
TT2017 worked very well, it loaded and updated very easily. It absorbed last years info well and was a pleasure to use. there was an issue with the "Care Giver amount" not being used and I could not get any clarification or help on how to apply it???
Upload to the CRA was sketchy due to the traffic but both returns got through! Filed April 30, 2018.

Excellent product

Netfiling Too Complex
Besides taking too many verification steps once a return is completed and ready to be filed, there is an extremely lng process to get to the final transfer. Netfiling in other income tax software is considerably easier and far less time consuming. When Turbo Tax encounters a glitch, it asks the preparer to check the internet connection even though there was no interruption in the internet service. Turbo Tax should be enabled to troubleshoot the fact that CRA "has not accepted te federal return" without threatening te user that he is running out of attempts. By repeated attempts, we were able to find out that the material had already been given a confirmation number, which Turbo Tax was not able to state at the time of transmission.

Tax Time Road Map
I found the software to be better this year, however, I found it difficult to get the help feature to pull up what I needed. You had to be exact in what you were asking or it did not bring up a subject. I would be better if the help box was a larger when it opens. There is no way to adjust it that I could see. The submit to CRA works better than it used to as the interface is now almost seamless. It was very quick even though I was submitting on the evening of April 30th. The software is good value for the money.

Getting better every year
Been using TTax forever. Still wish the questions were easier to understand... especially when certain deductions/credits don't apply. The software should know from my situation if a condition doesn't apply. Stop bugging me with so many accountant questions. Also, the Capital Gain Losses Carried Fwd should be explained. How can we know for sure if the data is valid...
Overall... very pleased. Taxes get easier every year.

Great product for most tax filers
Great product for most tax filers. However, doesn't allow T4A income (from multiple T4A's) to be put onto different T2125 for multiple/different business, partnership or self-employed commission businesses. Lumps all T4A income onto the first T2125 even if it doesn't all belong there. Also doesn't allow Box 028 income from T4A's to show up in the T2125 (where it should be if part of a partnership for example) but instead puts it on Line 130 of individual return and doesn't allow to change/correct this if need be. These two significant errors in the software need to be addressed.

Good until New feature :(
Good as usual, but the new feature at the end after submitting the NetFile, the one to get notify the notice of assessment, freezes TurboTax, so consequently there is no record of my submissions. :(
