Missed something
I've used Turbo Tax many times but this year for the first time, on the opening page, I didn't scroll down to see the 'Carry forward data from previous returns' Never happened before , is this a change. I ended up by entering it all again and had multiple files!

difficult printing
Still like the program but every year it is still the same problem - almost impossible to print what you want, program limits what you can print and how it will be printed. Needs more printing options.

Hmmm
Works well but when an error occurs and a warning appears it becomes impossible to clear it. Specifically the "amount owing for an eligible dependent". Could not clear the warning even after several attempts to correct. Had to completely start over on joint spouse submission.

Needs summary input form
For final review purposes, would be great to have one or two pages that summarize all the inputs, split between "Downloaded from CRA" and "Entered by User".
Including the following defaults in the "Print to PDF" version would also be useful:
various worksheets (RRSP, Char Don, Medical); RRSP Sched 7; Tax Instalments.

Dificultis with the Self-employment
I would like to point out that my wife is self-employed and it wasn't easy to do her taxes using TurboTax. For us it was necessary to pay CPP for her work continuation. each time we try to enter the information I was directed to purchase TurboTax for Business. As we figured out from the on line support that we just need to get to T2125 form. After one day of trying we finally figured it out and successfully file our taxes with CRA.

T1135 form needs improvement
Part B of T1135, item 7. only allows the entry of 3 countries. Because of this limitation, I had to fill out a paper T1135 form and mail it separately. Please modify software so that there is no limitation to the number of entries in Part B.

Still pretty good.
I've used TurboTax for many years. This year, I was using a computer that runs Windows 10, and received a scripting error repeatedly while trying to complete my return.
Re-installing the program fixed the error easily, but taxes are stressful already, and this extra step was a hassle. Hopefully TurboTax fixes this issue for the 2018 tax season.
Other than the scripting error, the program was super easy to use as always.

Great Software but early assessement download fail
Have used TurboTax now for well over 10 years. Makes it far easier to file and coordinate deductions between spouses. Only issue is that the download of CRA info (specifically the early assessment froze on every file that I tried it.) had to reboot and the software failed to recognize that the returns had previously been filed. Would recommend skipping this action and it will be fine.

Mostly Good
I have never been able to figure out something on the Northern Residents Deduction form: It asks for who lived with you at your residence but I don't know if that refers to family members or others. If family there is nowhere near enough room for the number who live here. The other thing is business expenses. Some portions of the forms are a little confusing. Overall though the program itself integrates just fine.

Ability to split T5008 amounts
Do not have the ability to split Capital Gains/Loss amounts on T5008 between spouses similar to splitting amounts on T3s, T5s, etc. Very time consuming to enter T5008 info for the other spouse. The T5008 info from CRA is only imported to one spouse tax return (similar for T3s & T5s).

Turbotax 2017
This years TurboTax had an annoying loop at the very end of the program. In the end I just exited out of the program. Besides this annoyance, the program is easy to use and gets you through the task fairly quickly.

Excellent Value
Great, easy to use software. If you get stuck, you can always go to Easy Step to help you get on your way. The only problem is they changed the font and I find the text too small now to read. Should bring back old font.

Getting tired
The pop-up for auto-fill in can't be turned off after initial use and is annoying!
Need an easier way to find the input to a provincial field from the provincial form without having to use easy step.
The help is not user intuitive and the last 4 years I just use google to figure out turbotax questions because the TT help is by programmers or accounts not made by users.
When have liked to have interlinks with dependants as I do 3 kids taxes with my wife's and mine. Have to manually transfer incomes and tuition info - please improve.
Pop-ups to upgrade are getting too much!
And why the heck would you put criteria on a nickname!!!!! Again programmers need to be reined in! I put a space in my nickname "Fixit Man" and it give me the error that the nickname can only contain letters and numbers. This is tiring!

Good but could be better
Most went smoothly and the easy step is helpful. However the CRA autofill too many tries to complete. The software kept on hanging with msg at ther top of the window (not responding).....

using the product for years. it is great! a little quirky when it come to knowing what button to use to print returns vs confirmations. for something i paid for, i get a little annoyed at the Turbo Tax "ads" at the time i try and file the return. otherwise i will keep buying it.

Uglier
All text way too large by default, so lines leak off the page unless you keep on reducing font size.
What's even worse is that text size in dialogue boxes cannot be changed even though it's too big to be fully visible within box. It's also a jarringly ugly font.
This can't be a common problem because otherwise everyone who every used it would complain bitterly. All my family said "that's stupid" when they saw these boxes.

great product
I have used this product many times, its great, the only thing is you need to create one that is good for 4 returns and a bit cheaper. Most users/ households only require two returns so it would be a better price for the family tax return.
