Great but MAC version would be better
I've been using Turbo Tax and its predecessors since it first appeared as Wintax. It's great but unless it comes out as a MAC version pretty soon, I'll be certain to switch. The on-line version is not as good.

percentage split
On either the t3 or t5, the instructions clearly stated that the program will automatically prorate based on percentage entered, but one did not have the note, It was confusing. I had to test it to confirm.
Also it was difficult to find out where to put in sale of principle residence.

Same Warnings Appear Too Many Times
I like this software and have always been satisfied with it. This year I do have a couple of comments. Once I have reviewed a warning, it should not be necessary to show the same warning when I reach the point of filing. Also, this is the first year I sold stock. I reviewed my income tax in advance so I could put more funds in a RRSP. However, I had not checked Capital Gains or Investment on the T5008 information. The software did not advise of this omission until I was ready to file with the CRA which means I had no chance to increase my RRSP funds for 2017. If this box is not completed, you should not be able to leave that page until you have selected either Capital Gains or Investment.

Does the Job
Been using it for a very long time, so I know all its quirks. Can't imagine using anything else at this point. Definitely could use some improvement around how it handles tuition for dependents. Not intuitive.

Another year older, another year of taxes.
There's a lot of free options these days but I've been using Turbotax for so long without issue that it's my default every year. The price is insignificant for us and the time it saves is well worth it. Irritations that prompt customers to pay up for "Audit Defense" (if you need personalized professional advice, get it) are a little cheesy since the perfunctory service from Intuit is unlikely to match what a CPA can do for you but I'm always suspicious of the value of upselling.

Too many clicks but easy
An aggravatingly large number of clicks through splash screens - but not a bad price for being walked through the process quickly and easily. Only real complaint is that after filing it says I am done and keeps looping back to a previous point instead of providing a graceful exit. That could confuse a Turbotax newbie.

Disappointments
Have used Turbotax and its predecessors from the beginning of PC income tax preparation software for consumers. I was very disappointed this year right away in the personal information section of the T1 General form when the program would not allow or would not immediately show on the entry screen when you chose a yes or no answer to questions such as language of correspondence English or French, the Elections Canada Yes or No questions and the amount of Foreign Income question.
There was a similar problem in Schedule 1. The personal exemption amount sometimes was displayed and at other times was not, also the age exemption amount was sometimes displayed and sometimes not. This also happened in some other parts of the program. This caused me to doubt whether the software was working correctly. I noticed that clicking on the amount space sometimes showed the amount for that line and if alternated clicking on the age amount line you could see the value for that line. Still it puzzled me and I felt like the software was not functioning correctly. There must be a bug in it. In the Review section I find it very disconcerting that you highlight items for review even though those items and actions such as optimizing pension splitting, medical expense and charitable donations have been carried out. At least you could include as part of the question that you have done the procedure and indicate whether the software feels that it could possibly be done again and the reason for same. You ask whether you have prepared the ON-BEN form but you not advise whether or not your taxable income is to high to qualify for the benefit.
Finally the saving of the tax return, the printing of a pdf copy and saving of it has been well done and leaves no doubt in your mind when it should be done and that it does not add to the returns completed counter.

Pretty good
The CRA download feature is great, although the some of the numbers sometimes are different...possibly they consolidate theirs.
Last year I could easily switch between my spouse and myself...using the bottom line on my screen Not so this year.

Deductions
TurboTax is easy to use if your taxes are straightforward. Play around with your deductions though. The optimizer didn't work for one deduction for me.

Annoying software bug
Turbotax is usually headache free, but this year there was a coding error that had a script error window popping up every time I clicked next. It got really annoying really fast. Other than that the program does help a lot.

Basic OK but house sale a problem
The standard tax matters were dealt with easily but having to complete the new haouse sale forms were a problem when we jointly own our permanent residence. I had to delete my info to be able to enter my wife's share otherwise it entered two properties with the same address and blocked her from CRA netfile as you can't have two principle residences. I have to hope it went in correctly.

Still a good tax solution
Doing your taxes couldn't get much easier. However, and I hope it's because of an old OS, I had to deal with Script Errors on every page. Extremely frustrating. If it occurs next year, it will be the last time we use TurboTax.

Stocks and bonds
Your treatment of stocks and bonds sucks. Why on earth can you not modify your software to allow entering as many transactions as necessary without having to set up auxiliary tables? Why that magic number of 60 or so stock trades I can enter but not 80 or 100? I don't purchase TurboTax because I couldn't do my taxes without it; I buy it for convenience and to save time. But if I have to set up my own tables and add up all the necessary numbers, there is no convenience and time saving. I beg you to rewrite your program to allow unlimited number of stock and bond transactions to be entered without any complications. Thank you.

Simple, Easy and a No-Brainer
What can one say about TAXES... Well with TurboTAX the truth is that taxes can be a lot easier to handle than you would think. For the average "employed" person it is as easy as entering the received T forms OR connecting to federal Government account and the rest is pretty much AUTOMATIC... You can even play with the data (don't save it though) by pretending that you earned millions in income and then see how your going to handle your ultimate success when the time comes... It can't be much "Simpler, Easier and if a NO BRAIN person like me can do it than a genius like you will really appreciate TURBOTAX. Have Fun!!! S.W.A.

Depends
There are limitations for some. For example on one return it would not transfer T-5008 figures to T1 General while for another it did. It seems if you have both stock capital gains and use Sch 3 for them and mutual fund capital gains using the T5008 for those, it will not transfer the T5008 totals.
If you made a Section 60L RRIF to RRIF transfer and do a pension splitting Turbo Tax also splits the transferred amount, a definite no-no. Sometimes when tracing amounts back to the correct line on the T1 General you get directed to the wrong line
