good value
fairly user friendly although you do need to know at least the basics for pretty much all tax situations so you can fill the fields and answer for your situation competently. otherwise you'll be spending a lot of time online or digging thru turbo tax help screens.

Any flaws are very minor
The menu that appears at the left side of the screen could be a bit more specific. For example, a link to "charitable donations" under "deductions" would make navigating through the program much easier. But this is minor - no major complaints.

Worth trying
TurboTax is a friendly means of organizing and inputting your income tax return. However, I would like the system to ignore unused pages when printing out my return. Otherwise, I found this to be a useful product.

Good but .........
TurboTax is a great tool and I use it every year but it does have its drawbacks
1.) it only works on a PC ?? Have they not heard of a Mac. I prefer Mac. Its 2018 and everyone knows Mac is better.
2.) I can only print one (1) copy of a return. What's with that? Are they saving paper.... I don't think so. Sometimes I need 2 copies of a return

Good but NOT perfect
Input of gov. numbers is easy.
Review with all those "warnings", "fix", etc is very confusing. Many recommendations are useless or not applicable.

I have used Turbo Tax and it earlier name for 20 + years.
I have had a lot of problems with it in the fact that the count of number of returns completed went wrong. With the help on on line service the operator was able to help.
This problem needs to be fixed.[

Unsure about Optimizers
I am always unsure when using the optimizers if they have done their job or if having used it if the data has been transferred the way I want it to be
Other than that the program is straightforward and easy to use. I wish the notices about entering receipt forms where income is split was placed sooner. I stressed for a long time that I had done it correctly

I have used Turbo Tax for years and have been very satisfied with the product. Only a couple of complaints this year:
1.) Why do you keep asking the same questions over and over when they were correctly answered in the personal info section?
2.) We have opted for pension income splitting for the last two years and both times my husband has to pay tax and I receive a refund. Why can I not transfer my overpayment to my husband and offset any tax payable on his return? He is splitting his pension with me therefore the tax was paid by him and transferred to me in the income splitting process.

BEST TAX SOFTWARE IN THE MARKET
Turbo Tax in my opinion is the best Tax software in the market today. The East Step feature makes completing your taxes simple, painless and hassle free. I would recommend this software even to the most novice or first time users.

I enjoy using Turbo Tax however, with respect to the Home Buyers Repayment section Turbo Tax should include in help information that person must registered repayment funds as a contribution first and then apply amount for deductions. Looking back on my previous filings I can now see I missed a step and it appears the money I thought i was putting in as repayment also came out as income for me. I will have to contact CRA to see if I need to do something to correct this. Other than that I think it is a good tool. Thank you.

Serious error/oversight
TurboTax has a serious oversight and programming error. It will not allow you to enter the capital gains/losses on the sale of a US property and correctly deal with the foreign tax credit.

Finally!!!
As a recent retiree I finally was able to find tax software that facilitated pension splitting although that did require an upgraded version of TurboTax. Still compared to the fleecing I took from a well known tax prep firm - complete with erroneous information that I detected and corrected - this is the way to go.

Good tool
I've used TurboTax for several years and it is a very good tool. The only drawback I've found is that you cannot print a list of all your T-slips(T3,T5 etc) to verify with the slip received. You can only verify Tslips visually on your computer.

There should be a way to copy certain fields in the medical worksheet so one does not have to type in prescription 35 times, or patient's name 35 times.

Could do better
After program did it's best, I played with income between my spouse and I and increased our refund by $30. Not a lot of money but multiply that by the number of users.....

Save As you go

Will use it again.
I have used turbotax for many years but this year I had trouble starting it. It kept asking me to download Net - - - but it appeared everytime I started it. I felt that it was not downloading when I thought I had downloaded it. It would help to say "download complete" or "download incomplete". Yes I will use it again next year.
