Accaptable Software
We found this software has changed over the last couple of years and although it works well it is now some what confusing to use. There are too many jumps from form to form and when you answer no to a question the software still wants answers to redundant info. We have been using the software for about 10 years now but we may have to go to a professional moving forward

defective disk
defective disk made it impossible to print off hard copy. 30 minutes with customer service on phone; 120 minutes trying to install a downloaded version. First mechanical problem in years of use !

Retirement Introduced Some Wrinkles
I retired during the last fiscal year. This event led to some changes in the tax process. While I had to redo my taxes three times, the final effort was the smoothest since I was able to use the information in My Account and TurboTax integrated all the essential details. This was a big plus.
I highly recommend that everyone register with the CRA and open your own "My Account" then let TurboTax do all the work.

SLoooooooWWWW!!!
I have used this software for over a decade (in its older and current identities). Overall it does a good job of completing the process. However, it has a couple of annoying traits that have worsened progressively over the years ...
1. It is the SLOWEST piece of software I have, taking almost 2 minutes to load and run ... worse every year.
2. The help function has deteriorated, despite the trendy features of group and "live" helpers ... now incomplete in answering context-sensitive queries from various pages. Often returns zero answers to quite broad questions.
3. GUI still needs work. I have asked more than once for the navigation buttons to be sited consistently in the same location on all pages, which would expedite reviewing previous entries and addition of further ones.

Form 2125 needs clarity
The overall personal tax portion is excellent. TurboTax's form 2125 with CCA does not match the CRA version to complete and when using the CRA info for assistance, because TT's version did not have the same columns where they matched up in the description, it was very confusing to figure out exactly where to fill in some of my numbers.

Not Painless but OK
Much improved over the years and a good thing too as eyesight deteriorates and font enlargement feature was much appreciated. Too bad T Slip input boxes would not enlarge on the Standard single return edition though.as input is difficult.. Might have something to do with Font settings on the PC.
Help feature needs to be more flexible in specifying topic as technical names for claims and deductions are too stringent if users does not know them in the first place.

Good Product
This product was easy to use but at the end it just kept going in circles. After filing it asks if you want to do another return and if you answer no it goes back and asks if you want to save or print which I already did.

pension income splitting
The pension income splitting does not go into enough detail. I used the recommended pension income split in the turbo tax program, but do not understand how it works. It increased my wifes income to more than mine but do not understand why this lowers our total tax payable. When I did paper income tax forms I could look at things and figure out what was happening.

Not as good as last year
I know you update annually from feedback received year to year. I miss the software putting names in from year before it is handy for those of us who haven't moved in 30 years. It is overall a good program and have been using it for several years now. it has always been accurate. I shouldn't complain but to make it better please make it easier for us seniors.

First use, Instant Love
I've never done taxes myself, always sent it to someone else thinking it was too complicated.
It's not. The EasyStep is FANTASTIC especially if you sign into your CRA My Account and get auto-fill return working.

This Works Great!
