I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years. One area that can be improved, is the size of the forms and print for the detail input for the various ie T3 T5 T4A etc. The printing is to small to be read easily. I look forward to seeing revisions for the 2018 tax year.

Easy to use. Have improved legibility with increase font size feature. Suggestion: The Summary (for two e.g. married)shows only each individual total owing (or due). A total of both being visible in the Summary would save one having to keep adding them up as
inputs change.

save as you go
It has many improvements especially the net filing aspect. Would like to see a Save button at top for the Easy Step method. There is one when you click to Forms.....but all my info was lost after exiting Turbo tax and had to start over.

Fast & easy tax prep
I've used TurboTax for a couple of years now, and find it fast and easy to prepare and NetFile taxes returns for me and my wife. Our returns aren't complex, but the software makes it a simple job and the ability to NetFile is very convenient. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is that the software did not automatically allocate our charitable contributions to the lower income return. I quickly noticed this in the summary, and it was easily fixed using the Charitable Contribution Optimizer feature. All in all, TurboTax is an easy-to-use product that makes a tedious chore simple. I'll use it again next year.

Navigating between fields a problem
The help screen indicates that you can navigate between fields using the "Return Key". Didn't work. Had to use the "Tab Key" for EVERY move to a new field. A big annoyance!

Good Value

Help Needs Help
All in all, an excellent product. My major complaint is that there are two kinds of help that a person generally requires: assistance with the tax code and assistance using TurboTax. TurboTax is excellent with the first item, but not so good with the second as it is often hidden within the first.

Time Saver
I wish when asked a question in the interview the answer would follow thru the whole program so you are not bothered with a non applicable topic repeatedly. ie do you have dependents - no, then you should not see the fields that deal with dependents. ie, have you sold your primary residence - no, then you should not see the fields dealing with selling your primary residence and the form certainly should not print.
What is the point of the lengthy interview at the beginning of Easy Step when some of the answers are totally disregarded. If you have made a mistake in the interview you can always return & correct it, that is clear in the program. A time saving opportunity exists and taking advantage of it would be appreciated.

Printing not happening
I had problems with the software finding my printer. All other programs on my computer print just fine. For some reason, I would click on print (for the CRA reference number page) and the program would just sit there. I tried changing the default printer but that didn't work.
My printer is a very reliable Canon MG8120 and it has been one of the most reliable printers I have ever owned.

Reliable but needs minor tweaks
After using this product for more than a decade, I am comfortable using it. It is reliable. However, it does not run smoothly in Windows 10 on my Surface 3 computer, as a 'script error' message keeps showing up. I need to delete this error message twice before I can proceed. This does not happen when I run TurboTax on my Windows 7 computer. The Intuit folks should look into this peculiar behaviour.

Typical Software Instructions
I like turbotax. Have used it for many years and it does keep getting easier.
Often I find the help function not very useful. As is typical for software instructions, it tells you how to complete something but not why you would or if it applies to you.

problem with FIX button
I had forgotten to enter 12 months in the CPP T4 section. at the end when I was trying to submit the file, it kept giving me a warning to review and a FIX error option which would not work. it would not take me back to correct. eventually after many attempts , I was able to manually get back to that section and enter 12 months. a waste of time as this was not a crucial error.

The software works quite well. There is one hiccup at the end. Once you have Net-filed the return and hit continue it eventually asks you if you want to start a new return.
If you hit no it takes you back to the sends you back to the "do you want to file your return" page. This is annoying. It should ask if you want to close the return.

They've changed...
I have been using turbotax for over 10 years...long enough that I can't remember when I began. The easy step process this year was a little frustrating as easy interface and connectivity seemed to have changed from previous versions. Boxes that I clicked in defining my profile were un-checked when I followed links in the description line...luckily I remembered in the review process.
I like TurboTax...but I honestly don't know what other products are out there...still reasonable value, but you can't use this blind...you need to have some tax rule knowledge.

Good overall tool
Decent overall tool, although there are some warnings generated when submitting to netfile that should have been handled by TurboTax. Specifically, the alternative minimum tax section for rental properties should be automatically calculated.
