Good method
Gone are those days when I have to sharpen the pencil. Broken finger nails and frustration while the dog eats my T4 and other forms.........!!!!!! No more.
Life is so easy now. Thanks Turbo tax.
You have come a long way too. When Quicktax (that's what it was called back then) it was on a floppy disk, DOS was the only op.sys. We lived with it. We printed it, mailed a bunch of papers to Revenue Canada (CRA now) and hope for the best that we did not make any mistakes.
My....... how times have changed. It has changed for the better.

Works Great
Overall rating is a 4 because I had to print and mail in a return and it said duplicate do not mail on the first 5 pages. had to mail it in that way as it would not remove the watermark.

easy to use
the only thing with turbo tax I don't like is you can not reach a person to give you support if you need it .I think this is really poor on there part. I have used this program for years and every year I get mad at this issue.

Hmmmmm!
1) When attempting to pay online at the end it jumped right by so I'm not sure if I have paid or not
2) after filing and attempting to exit I got caught in an endless loop of being asked to save and print

Turbo refund
Software is easy to use and very helpful. Have used for years with no issues and will continue same. Help windows and directive flow are a great feature that makes the process seem less daunting.

Turbo Tax Standard is an affordable way to file income taxes. It could be more intuitive to your situation and not recommend tax credits, etc. during the review phase that it clearly should know you are not entitled to based on your situation. That is a confusing part; when it suggests something and it gets you thinking, "did I do something wrong or forget something? Why is it asking me to review this?"

Weird problems and lack of hint
The app indicated that my report has errors, but I have never seen those pages with errors during my step-by-step filling the report.
Some places are lack of hints, for example, the page of RL30. What is "Notes"? And what if a fill is blank on your RL30 paper.

Now I can enjoy a cup of coffee.
Overall experience was a pleasant one . . . if such a thing is possible when filing a Fed Tax Return! I was thinking back to the mid 1970's when I ran a trucking firm in the US and had to do all my taxes by hand as the first PC had yet to hit the market. Can't imagine how I actually did it . . seriously!
If I could make one suggestion it would be to encourage Turbo Tax to let a couple (especially a retired couple) file a Joint Return using the lower priced version of your software. Every penny counts folks.

Improvements
I seem to have trouble with the medical expenses section of return. All the expenses usually goes to the lowest earner, that's fine but I find it hard to transfer those amounts to top earner when he needs it and lowest earner doesn't. The optimizer should work like the one for income splitting. Which amount benefits one and for the other. Just saying. Thanks.

Great Product

Glitchy
I found it quite glitchy this year. Things that were supposed to be checked weren't, things that were suppose to be entered weren't until I made the screen bigger (not sure how I did that but it just happened) then I saw that they were indeed checked and entered. It was a little painful at the time but overall everything worked out.

Turbotax online purchased from store
I purchased the Online turbotax edition from the store, only to find out that version does not have access to the forms function which I find useful. Intuit Support was very helpful and managed to allow me access to the TurboTax Standard edition, where i had access to tax forms and returns. Would be a good idea to make clear on the "Standard Online Edition" box, that patrons will not have access to the forms function like past years or included in the TurboTax Standard CD & Download Option

Great Product
I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. I have been very happy with it. I did have trouble this year with the disposition of principal residence. The easy step did not ask all the questions and I called support for help. They ended out telling me to call CRA. They are supposed to be tax experts and I should not have to call CRA. Other then that, I think it is a great product and I will continue to use it.
