Good purchase
Software is great, although, copy has problems closing or moving on to a new claim when finished. In fact it keeps going back to netfile when you to either start a new claim or close software...

over all a great program
I have been useing turbo tax for years and have found it to be real easy to use. I particularly like the fact that you can combine your spouses income tax and complete them at the same time. I also like the various maximizer options for ensuring the best options for tax refunds.
However, this year I kept getting asked questions about the sale of a house but I did not sell a house and did not indicate this anywhere on my return... not sure if I did something wrong inadvertently or if it is a glich in the program.

Great software
This software allows me to do my taxes as well as those of my family.
I wish I could transfer personal information from the previous year's tax return to this year's.

Annual Filing
I have found the Turbotax quite intuitive to use. It is easy to make changes and can handle a number of returns.
I have found it difficult to go to a single form for a correction, and have to page through the forms to get to the one needing change. But overall it is accurate and filing is quick.

Relatively Good
I like it and recommend it. It is definitely better than the free software for taxes I tried and better than paper.
It would be nice if the charitable optimizer didn't just depend on YOU knowing how much of your donations you actually need and how much you should carry over. If I didn't know to go back and carry over an amount, Turbotax would seemingly just gobble up the entire amount even though it should be carried over. The optimizer should also suggest how much to carry over as well as who should claim it. There is only a tip that suggests carrying some over. It doesn't go deeper than that.

I like how easy to use it is
would like to see the option to renew current software online instead of having to buy it over and over again for one time use product. or make a standard version with only 4 returns instead of 8 for small families/couples who do not need to pay for 8 returns only 2

Second time around
Does take some practice to become efficient and it helps if you have done a form manually before. Note does not flag capital gains to check for possible previous capital losses which could be claimed for offset. Optimizer is a good idea but having one screen for all three would be better. Need to play with it to sort out what is best arrangement of who should claim what and how much. All in all, a worthwhile purchase.

Hate the "simplification"
I have used Turbo Tax for years, but definitely hate this simplified version. I had to phone for help and reload programme, even then, had to manually transfer data from previous years. The name of the file I was working on did not show at the top. The only way I could save was to go to the menu bar under File. What happened to the Save Icon? If I hadn't been very familiar with previous versions, I might have given up! Really, does larger font need to be on the tool bar? Save would have been better. Plus the programme kept suggesting I had sold property, I triple checked, but I hadn't inadvertently clicked and have never sold property. On one return it kept trying to include business expenses.

Not compatible with MacOS High Sierra
Purchased TurboTax standard in Costco. Found the type of turbo tax needed. Have gotten an Apple Laptop this year as there were a lot of problems with the updates done by Microsoft on my laptop. Using my new Apple laptop, and after trying to open or run the disc for about 2hr period noticed on the TurboTax box in small print that this is for Windows only. If this is not available to be run by an Apple laptop having MacOS High Sierra it should be noted on the box in larger information typing. Or if an Apple product is being used a program should be written so it can be used on an Apple product. Last year for Turbo?

I could get around turbotax easily.
I discovered, after using it a third time, I was able to go back, make changes and I find my way back quite easily. I even accidently closed the program while I was still working on my return and I did not loose my work nor did I have to look too hard for where I left off, it took me there.
In the tips and warnings section, if it applied to me, it had a link that took me to the area in question. Also, if it had not been for the tips, etc. I know I would have missed completing some of the boxes.
I have never used another program, but like turbo tax standard, which is the one I used each time.

Make it even better ....

CRA Issues
Had issues going into CRA website for NOA. Went in manually to get around it and created payment, thus completing the return.
Every time I tried it came up saying successfully connected but only option that was available was to close the page.
