Complicated but easy as it gets
Tax returns are complicated beast, but Turbo Tax helps you through those little hiccups. It also keeps all the chaff away from your eyes, like those terrible forms where you list various income amounts to works out how much tax to pay.Thanks again, Turbo Tax.

Continues to be very Easy
I wouldn't do my taxes any other way.
Couldn't give TurboTax a perfect mark though. Found the non capital Loss Carry Forward had me flipping between EasySteps method and Forms. I found some help sparse (such as changes around Transit Credits and how that interacts with Ontario Tax credits for those over 65).

I would like to see the Northern Resident's Deduction come up automatically rather than me having to remember to find the form and enter the information. I was rather shocked to see how low my refund was until I figured out that I had not calculated the Northern Allowance.
Otherwise easy to use and very little time.

Easier than paper, but still annoying
puts everything together for you. If you wanted you could power through your return quite quickly and probably not miss much.
But if you want to do a thorough job it can be a stubborn and stupid program.
Has optimizers to help you assign donations and medical expenses to the correct spouse but I spent too much time trying to input more than one medical expense In the end I couldn't figure out how to get more than one entered, which makes their "optimizer useless". And after all that time lost I realized I shouldn't even claim medical expenses and should carry them all forward to next year.

Always saves me $$
Easy to use for most common aspects of a tax return. I do have to work and use the forms for disability expenses and deductions. Could be less confusing and more helpful than it is.
Otherwise, I've been using it for years and will continue to do so until something better comes along.

good but upsale annoying
The standard tax package does all I need to fill out taxes for my family. Even when I was doing my kids returns though, it kept recommending to upgrade to premium version, then there is the recommend to pay for professional review, and then register for audit defense, none of which I need.
Quit trying to up sale me at every point

Medical Expenses
I really wish I could reorganize the sheet to alphabetical order, instead of by the order they were entered. Same goes for Charitable, though not as significant. Otherwise an excellent product, that I've been using for many years.

Good Product, Great Value
Simply put I have used this program multiple years. I have accountant father and mother and although they don't deal with personal taxes in their careers they have always done them for themselves, manually on forms. Since showing them the ease of the program and its accessible features for when they need to go line by line on the forms, they jumped right it, and for years have used the program ever since.

Printing for mail
I do things by "snail-mail" When getting my print out for myself & my wife there was an unfortunate problem with "spooling' which I had to CTRL/ALT/DELETE to get out and re-issue my printing order. It may not happen to you but it did to me. Other than that a good product.

Easy to Use
Love that it transfers previous years info and takes you through program step by step. Only problem I encountered that I don't recall from previous years is after net filing and it asking if you wanted to do another return it just kept looping around in circles on the same return just completed and never gave an option to select the next return. Had to close program and reload for each return I did.

Size of Font
The only issue I have with the 2017 Turbo Tax program is that the font used on the T Slip & Receipts screens seems to be noticeably smaller than in earlier years. Makes it more difficult for entering data. Fortunately the forms are fine.

turbo tax, formerly quicktax is the easiest to follow tax prep software. The RRSP wizard is excellent and the summary with the marginal tax rate that shows instant changes as you try different scenarios

5 Years and Running
I have used this software for at least 5 years. I used to do my own taxes manually but this saves me time not having to second guess my calculations or correct field entries.
Rather persistent on making sure you don't miss the new reporting on the sale of your principal residence. Even though my response was NO, warning message still appeared in the review area so I had to go back and verify my answer. Otherwise it is straight forward and simple to navigate.

Okay but ...
For the most part this product continues to be a valuable tax tool but this year it would appear the initial software load was a little sloppy ... I encountered an error when loading from CD ... and although the issue was effectively addressed by the help desk, it makes me wonder if any other issue is out there, lurking. And no, I don't believe this to be an issue on my part because there was an existing example in the FAQ's at the website. Not a big deal but hey, you asked.

One slight flaw
For the most part, my experience with TurboTax was fantastic. The only issue I had was connecting with CRA. Kaspersky launched the safe browser, which does not keep site data when transfered from CRA to the sign-in partner. Thus, the signin did not work. That's ok. I can deal with that. The problem was that when I exited the browser, TurboTax was hung and I had to kill the process. Worse, the current state of my return wasn't saved, thus I had to re-enter data.
Other than that, it was awesome.
