very good
It would be nice to indicate the name of the person you are inputting data about is on every page/screen. You do it in some cases but that idea is not carried through to all screens. I, in my old age found it a little confusing at times. With thanks.

easy for first time user
I'm a first time user never filed my self very easy to follow the steps, and the vocab box is very handy letting you know what certain things mean bought pro review and the agent was super nice and made going through the return very reassuring that I would not have any mistakes will definitely be buying turbo tax next year

Very comfortable software to use
guides you through and the ? question option really is helpful and makes it easier to go from page to page - would absolutely recommend this software to both the seasoned users and new users - great - it does the job well!!

Need a MAC version
I use this program every year but it needs a mac version as I don't use windows machines anymore. I would switch programs if another had a mac version. I am never using the online version.

made me a pro
I found the turbotax standard to be easy and efficient to work. Unfortunately I started my taxes after the RRSP deadline and appreciate the suggestion of what I should put in to maximize return and payback what I borrowed to do that.
Will be using again for 2018 return

Does not play well with CRA website
I've been using Turbo tax and its predecessors for 20 years and has been mostly reliable; however, this year I encountered two (possibly related) issues:
- Turbo tax locks up if the CRA website doesn't respond correctly, or you enter the wrong password and it doesn't log you in. This means you have to kill Turbo tax in Windows task manager and you lose any info changed since your last save. There should be a timeout that will stop trying to contact the CRA website after a few minutes of inactivity. This happened to me twice! Both times I had to repeat some entries. I would strongly urge users to save before having Turbo tax log you into the CRA website.
- Did not download and/or apply my RRSP deduction. It showed it downloading and asked me if I wanted to apply it but it never did and I was left wording if I had to re-enter the details manually or if this would create a duplicate entry. t4 was downloaded and applied OK, so the connection was good, but the RRSP data got lost somehow for no obvious reason.

Easy to use
I was quite nervous doing my own taxes.
However, to my relief, I found this program to be quite thorough and very easy to follow.

Easy to navigate but was not impressed when asked to upgrade in order to add a $50.00 interest amount earning from an insurance policy. The upgrade was more than I would have to pay if claimed.

Nice to have and it does the calculations for you!
I recommend this product; although I had help from QC revenue rep. over the phone to clarify one point which was not clearly defined in the Help category of Turbo tax. Also found a small mistake on Line 420 info re: Net tax amount... should read line 65 and not line 67 as shown in the program.

turbotax_2017_Standard
It is easy to get, install and use the software. However, it takes MINUTES (not seconds) to start the application software. Better take lessons from Microsoft who managed to speedup Windows 10 & Edge.
Again, while I entered identical T4RIF information for myself & my spouse, the amounts showed up in different items, which I could not rectify.

Good product
I liked this product and have used it numerous times although I used the Basic Program in other years. This year I used the Standard Program because it has the optimizing features that allowed me to easily optimize our tax deductions as a couple.

This gets it done. Thorough and easy to use instructions.
One improvement to suggest would be that "Quarterly Payments" needs to be replaced by "Total of Quarterly and Other Current Tax Year Payments" as the program does not total the amount of payments made.

Reliable
I have tried other software for filing my taxes and have found that they are more difficult to use. Turbo Tax has an excellent help section and navigation mechanism. The process of entering data is simple and efficient. I will continue to use this software in the future.

Straightforward
TurboTax Standard 2017 edition: Pretty straightforward and easy to use. The only real annoyance is that installation on a Windows PC requires Administrator privilege -- there is no justification for that. Also some minor issues: The explanation of "pension income amount" is confusing. The Federal Worksheet form is not included in the package.

Feedback on Turbo Tax
Good program overall. Tuition rebates were a little clunky, and the program got confused when I entered a tuition fee that was too low.
Please dedicate some resources to making this a little more user friendly.

Very easy to use
Turbo Tax is what I use every year. It always maximizes my refund and it's very easy to use. The only thing I did not like is the lack of information about the missing child arts and fitness credits. I had to do research and find out that they are gone starting 2017.
Overall, I'm happy with my return.
