Mind at Ease
I have used Turbotax for as long as I have been doing my own taxes. It is easy and provides me the opportunity to help out my family as well. AND the returns are almost always BANG on target.

2016 Review
Operated for 2016 as Self Employed, that was where the confusion started.
Also very complicated for entering Indian Status for On Reserve employment, there are NO options noted for this.
I had a Ticket Inquiry for this but didn't get any satisfactory response to my questions.

Almost !
I have been using Turbo Tax since the first year it was available under the previous name. I have found it to be reliable and easy to use. I have had no Audits. I would have given this version - 2016, five stars accept that I spent a lot of time trying to find the Industry Code for Direct Sales. I used the Search Feature, and the Help? Feature, as well as the Revenue Canada website. It was not until I tried to file, and could not, that I finally found the answer I needed. I am not sure why it was not available, but it did cause me some frustration.

Great product with one exception
I found the product very helpful and easy to use. I just followed the steps and it took me smoothly thro the whole process, including e-filing. Since this was my first time use, I opted to pay for the professional review as well and everything was good. HOWEVER after i had finished and sent it off and paid my outstanding tax I was reminded that as a Canadian living in the northern area of the provinces I qualified for the partial Canadian Northern Living Allowance....The program did not prompt me to this and as a result i ended up paying taxes that i could have saved. The professional review also did not pick up on this. I think the program could prompt for this allowance based on Area code of residence.

Easy to use
I have used Turbo Tax for many years and it is easy to use and finish in a short period of time. I do find that the optimizers don't work as well as intended and I find myself doing it manually rather then depending on the program. Other than that little issue, it is a great program to use!

I have been doing my taxes with TurboTax for years. The first years, I used to do them by hand too, just to make sure that I had the same results at the end, so now< I just do it straight from the forms and it is less hassle and I send them directly online.
However, I have one major problem. I do more than one income tax return as I do my children's too and when I am at the end and they say, do you want to do another income tax return and I say yes, it always return to the income tax form I did previously to see if I want to save it again, which by the way I did, several times and it still will ask me. Very Very annoying. I should just be able to start a new form!

Easy to use
Before I used to fill forms manually.
Even with little understanding of forms, TurboTax will guide you to get your taxes done, by yourself.
It could not be easier.

Don't Sign up Online
I have been charged for the product and failed to receive it requiring me to pay for it twice x 3 years. This is because I chose to buy the CD program from a retailer after failing to receive the online version. I received the online notice this year after purchasing the program at a retailer. The timing is not reliable or consistent. I could not contact anyone by phone and even my bank would not stop the billing to my credit card so I had to cancel the credit card. The online help is usually prompt but there is no way to phone and talk to anyone about this issue. Good product, terrible customer service.

Nothing is prefect
They have made improvements on EasyStep over years and it is quite useful but I still have to flip to forms to enter some info could reclaim more credits that not being prompted thru EasyStep.

Standard Does the Job
In the past I have upgraded to more expensive versions of TurboTax. I see no advantage to doing so. The Standard version is completely adequate for my return needs.

Turbo Tax Standard
Worked well as I am accustomed to, this version is great. I feel that one improvement would be more interactivity between the tax form where all the information is stored and the input forms, sometimes one just wan'ts to click on the are in the form and have it jump to the appropriate data entry form.

Confidence
I'm not an accountant, so I need to feel confident that the claims that I am making on my return actually apply to me and that they are legal. This software makes me feel confident (enough) that I am correctly creating my return.

I had great difficulty completing T2125 because when I needed to enter my date on Part 1 - Business income the program would not let me.The default was Part 2 - Professional income. WHY... In previous years I have never had this problem. I wasted many hours and frustration trying to enter my data.

Needs to be Free to have more value.
I've used Turbo (previously Quick) Tax since the 1990s, and am quite familiar with it. The only way to increase its value to me would be to reduce the price, even to FREE. I know it can be transferred to other providers, supposedly seamlessly, but I am so used to it, that I do prefer to pay a small fee, and have the files downloaded to my computer. Maybe age has me worried about the merits of cloud storage. The best value in using TTx is the review, checks, warnings, and error verifying in that it will invariable find ways to properly enter data to my benefit. This can cause me to slow down but does get to right, and never costs me .

Good, but should be better
Basically, the program was still very good. But the display was too small on my high-resolution screen. The program needed a explanation of why this was so or of how to get over it. The program needed a way stop a dialogue box for auto-filling slips from coming up every time a return was opened. The government pension-splitting forms are difficult to follow. The program needed a good explanation of how these worked for uncoupled returns.

Not as easy to use as 2015
I found it harder to move between 2 returns and it was more difficult to go back to where I was on the return.
If a page or schedule has to be attached but has no entries then to save paper and ink perhaps there could be a summary page instead umpteen blank sheets!

Getting trickier
I've been using Quick/Turbo Tax for over a decade. I found this year's version to be more complicated to use than previous years versions. Still quite useful, but seems to be getting more complicated.

T4 CRA problems
Everything was fine except the download of T4 information from CRA.
I had to download 2 sets of T4 info, but after one was done the other would hang up and I would have to re-start the turbotax program (losing all the entered data).
Resorted to manually entering data.
