Great Guidance
This was my first time using turbotax and I found it was very smooth and straight forward. It was very helpful with comments and suggestions.
I have worked in an accountant's office in the past and my only suggested improvements would be adding information regarding medical travel such as the current mileage rate and meal allowances for people who may not know how to look it up. I would also suggest that turbotax make it clearer that you add your mileage, meal, parking and hotel expenses together for the one travel expense line as the program I used before had them all entered individually. I would also add the requirements to qualify for the Ontario Seniors' Property Tax Grant to the turbotax tips, and/or have turbotax not suggest it to seniors whose income is over $50,000 as they do not qualify.
Overall, I thought turbotax was very good and helpful. I plan on using it again next year.

has become more challenging
some of the tax entries have become more challenging as you keep changing the format. It takes a lot more effort this year than the previous years filing. It was lot easier to transfer the personal data from preivous years returns You will improve on the coming year softwares.
overlall it is the best software for me.

Easy
If you only have a few forms, turbotax is super easy to use. Anyone can do it because it literally takes you though everything step by step and you can easily look up anything you don't understand. It saves me close to $100 dollars doing my taxes myself.

Great product - keep it updated
Great product that is very easy to use. I encountered one problem and couldn't submit right away but after updating to the newest version the problem was fixed and I submitted without issue. I've used this multiple years and am very happy. Last year I used a service due to changes with my wife, but I found they made errors. This is much better!

Not so easy anymore
I have found this years program more difficult to use. Maybe because of too many options.
The import feature confused me because the figures didn't match my paper work.
I did not submit my returns yet as I am going to go through them once more to be sure I didn't miss anything.

Good Value but could be improved
Should be tabbed so you can work on more than 1 return at a time, especially useful when you are doing returns for parents and adult children in post-secondary.
The on-line community based help is awesome, the program help could stand some improvement. Should just toggle to explanatory information when you click on form text or a form blank.

GOOD PURCHASE
I have found it was quite easy to use but I have been using this for last several years and I think it was little bit different from a standpoint of userfriendliness. There were issues in transferring the files from previous year and it would lose some data in the process.

easy to use
This is a product that I have been using for a number of years. I have never had any issues, and it works well. Only have T4s and some RRSP's though. Pretty easy tax work.

This year there were too many bells and whistles that made the program cumbersome, difficult to find things and just plain annoying. The worse was the font size that going small. KEEP it simple!

Format changes
The Turbo Tax software is good but I see a decline in service since the previous year. There was no carryover of personal data - name, address - from last year's return, or carryover of credits usable this year. Can't help wondering if you want "Basic" buyers to upgrade.

Minimizes the pain
Always a head-scratching, head-banging process! This adds a few of it's own, because you don't always quite know where the software is going. But it removes S-O-O-O many more scratches and bangs, just by keeping you organized, that it is like finding that needle in the haystack. Well worth it, for me.

Please improve this feature
I have a lot of medical expenses and donations (over 10 each), so I find the current method of inputting these items as cumbersome.
I would rather type into the form than into the Receipt tables.

Good but watch when you click on the links in it
Its a good software but I experienced technical glitches. For example if there was a checkbox and next to it there was a help popup link, When you click on the link it would automatically select on the checkboxes. So I had to manually uncheck the checkboxes once I clicked on the help popup link next to it. TurboTax developers should note this issue

Request for field
Hi there
I would like to make a suggestion that when you indicate you are joining your taxes with a spouse, common-law, etc. that Turbo Tax give you the option to import another file information/extract fro line # or open to windows at a time. It is very annoying and cumbersome to have to close one file, open another, write down line # information and go back and forth until complete.
Just my 2 cents :)

Easy to use for simple tax returns
I've liked using Turbotax for many years. It's easy and there's lots of help on line. I have a couple of issues with it this year. First, the program did not decide correctly on whom the medical receipts would work best. I manually switched it and got myself $8 more. It isn't a lot but the point is clear. Also, I found it impossible to figure out how to apply losses incurred last year on some shares. The program calculated it properly last year and carried it over to this year but I had to seek outside help and enter it manually into a form outside of Easy Steps. I would recommend Turbotax include a question about applying losses in a current year to help us non-accountants.

Good With a Few Limitations
The TurboTax Optimize functions are confusing to use. You are never sure that anything has been optimized, and the program keeps asking/warning you over and over again to Optimize before you are done. Instead of repeatedly warning/asking you to Optimize, the software should advise the user that nothing has changed and the RRSP/Charitable Donations/Medical Expenses/Pension Splitting HAS BEEN OPTIMIZED! The User wants to know that it has been DONE, not just repeatedly warned.
This is not a new issue with TurboTax, and it is time it was fixed!

Shared Income Problem
As a former tax preparer I use the detailed forms method so I can't comment on the guided part. The one problem I do have with TT is that it does not split shared business/farming income automatically. For our farm I have to manually enter all the information twice. It will not allow me to override without filling out the appropriate forms. I would like to see any income showing 50% to each spouse be an automatic computation and entry, the same as T-slip designations. Other than that, I am very happy with the program.

easy to use

Good but not perfect
I ran into a problem with Turbo Tax for income tax year 2016. Thinking that there might have been instalments made, I clicked that there had been, but I did not enter an amount. The amount should therefore have defaulted to $0.00. However, it incorrectly defaulted to $9.99. Intuit should fix this as, In My Humble Opinion (IMHO), it should default to $0.00. Other than this faux-pas, Turbo Tax for income tax year 2016 worked well.
