Hard to correct , sometimes to go to right page, need to go through a lot of previous pages
-the search not effective, even use exact word
one of the returns was rejected because of error:
first -the software idn't give a warning,
second didn't redirect to the right page, i even wasn't able to go there myself, so i need to close, open again and go through many steps to correct and then many other steps to go back to filing

issues with scripts
Have used Turbotax for years. Never had problems, always liked how easy process was.
this year spent HOURS trying to work around the script error that I had and apparently many people online had too.
tried reinstalling, couldn't get it to resolve. tried to complete just closing off the error but eventually this failed. messed around and program started to work right - taxes finished in 20 minutes lest the problem return.
found HELP functionality and 'troubleshooting' on the web useless. Looking for solutions from INTUIT not co-users. Let a co-user leave a solution, but INTUIT should chime in to say 'yes, try this' or 'do not do this'. I don't want to just mess around with my tax information and computer settings because another user suggested it.

Getting better
TT has been improving steadily over the years. It's getting easier every year. It's *almost* to the point where I can bring it up, enter miscellaneous stuff (like medical expenses and such) and say, "yeah, go ahead" and then walk away. Not yet, but give it a couple of years. It's a long, long way from when I used to start planning Jan 3 so I could file in mid-Feb...

Been using for 7 years
Have been using this product for 7 years now. Our whole family uses it. It is easy to use as we do not have a complicated tax return to do. Lots of answers on the help page if you need them but everything is so straight forward. In the 7 years I have used this product I have only used the Help page once. Great product!

I use this software every year and find it very helpful.
Be careful to import your previous year's data before starting your return. I either missed a prompt or it was not there so I completed the return without doing so. I had to redo the return to get that advantage.

Only Tax Software I use
Like the new e-filing option for 2016, beats manually adding the .tax file of yesteryear. Two things I do not like.
1) If I am filling in partial info with the intention of returning later, I would prefer TurboTax re-instate the option to 'File Later' that was there a few years ago. This way I can come back over and over again to fill in more data.
2) When I do come back, don't make it so difficult to start from the beginning again.

I found the medical expense start and end dates a little confusing. When one has medical expenses to carry over, I think you should be able to know the amount that you can carry over just like one can with the donation expenses. Maybe I just didn't understand it.

Only software to use
I have always used Turbo Tax and Quick Tax before that. Excellent software.
This year 2016 Turbo Tax, however, I found that when I saved the return at the "save" at the top tool bar, some information was not saved when I returned to the document to continue. But when I closed the file and save, then the information remained. So for some reason there is a glich. I did not have this problem when filing and using Turbo Tax for 2015.

Would like to see more platform supported

More Complicated than you would expect
This product is very helpful but needs some improvement for the user. The general form is good, the fill-out areas are very good and the initial process works very well. Where it needs help is in the review area as you cannot easily return to the forms or use the optimizer tools when in the REVIEW MODE. You could not access the "top right" site areas while doing the review. When instructed to go to "bookmarks" you could not get to them directly as the menu would not open. It is also not very clear that you need to click on "BACK" when filing, saving and printing. The instructions should be explicit re methodology. When one is completing one's tax return and filing it one is under some stress and needs to be given detailed, step-by-step instructions. This product is good and we will use it again.

Register?
Only problem I had this year was Turbo Tax kept asking me to register my product but it wouldn't let me go in to add it. Talked to one customer support person who said I should reload the software, but we couldn't find the necessary files to delete first. Once I did find them, I phoned again but this other support person said just to ignore the message and hit "register later", since he could see that I was already registered. Well, I've Net Filed O.K. now, so it wasn't a big problem. Hence the overall rating of 4 instead of 5.

TurboTax
I've used this for years and it is relatively painless and catches all the savings. Still waiting for Intuit to develop a feature in TurboTax that provide both the average and marginal tax rates. It's a pain to derive these manually.

Great Purchase
User friendly. Provides two options to complete. Easy Step which is a step by step process that walks you through every screen. Forms allows you to enter information directly to the respective tax forms/receipts you've received for the respective year. I've been using this for at least 10 years. I also like the review process. It's another check making sure you are taking advantage of all tax breaks for your individual situation.

Had to reload the program.
Loaded the program and it told me everything had gone fine. Did a few returns but, when I went back to print and file, I could not find the files to re-load. Spent an entire afternoon trying various solutions and ended up calling my computer savvy son. He advised me to remove and re-load the program. After doing this, it worked fine - BUT - it was a frustrating experience.

Getting better, but still has problems
Still find that some of the wizards, such as the medical claim, simply does not work. You first get a confirmation of which party should claim medical expenses. Then later, it tells you to switch to the lower income person. Doing so causes it to show a lower refund. You end up going back and having to rework it to find the correct answer. Therefore, never trust the wizards to actually help.
Otherwise, seems to be accurate and getting better each year. But one major weak spot

Needs modification for 4K screens
Doing taxes on my new laptop with a 4K screen was a nightmare. Font too small and cut off in the T form boxes. You guys need to update the UI.

Turbo Standard- value for your $$
I started using Turbo Tax when it was called CanTax. Each year the program gets easier to use. The helpful hints and warnings allow you to optimize your deductions and pay less tax or get a larger refund. I tried the pension splitting this year and added a few hundred more to our refund. I have tried the next level up of Turbo Tax but may do so next year to see if it gives me even more benefit.
