Been Using it for years - okay
There is still a problem with shared capital gains and losses. I have to enter the info twice. Would be nice to have a percentage based as there is for the Tslips.

Proof is in the Pudding
This was the easiest to fill out tax return I have experienced since starting to use products such as this. It also produced refunds for myself and my wife that far exceed the amounts we received last year. Makes me think something is wrong. I will increase my evaluation to excellent if Intuit is right. Answering this survey before our returns are processed by CRA is a bit premature!

Review stage annoying
The review stage is frustrating in that the screen comes up with "warnings" that suggest reviewing RRSP savings, tax credits, etc. The program then dumps back to PREVIOUS screens that have already been gone through, and you have to keep flowing through your return by clicking Continue to get back to the end (yes, it IS possible to use the left sidebar to get to the end, but this should happen AUTOMATICALLY once you've done the section review). Then! It warns you that you might not be able to file your return if you've filed in previous years or not!! Well, that IMPORT of last year's data from the 2015 TurboTax should set a flag within the program so as NOT to alarm the user at this point of the filing process!! Gees!
Once the return is sent in, confirmation number received, the program asks AGAIN about printing the return/PDF; WHY!?! We've already done that PRIOR to efiling the return!
TurboTax---these little things are annoying and you don't fix them year after year!
The main program and step-through is great! I like being able to switch between Form mode and Easyform to check where business expenses are actually being placed. Other than the review stage hiccups, it's a good program for people needing to do taxes.

2016 Review
As in past years, I have found TurboTax well worth the cost.
This filing season, I had some to remove some rental forms (a divorce granted the properties to my ex). Of course, the prior year's forms were populated, and I found the Help info did not remove the forms that I no longer needed, and it took me some time of trying this and that to make it work.
Some improvements to this Help topic would be helpful.

ease of use
I've used this product for several years and found the 2016 version to not be as user friendly as it has been in previous years. The optimizers were not clearly evident and I had a hard time printing specific forms I wanted hard copies of. I also found I couldn't navigate around the pages in the interview method as easily as in past years.

Badly needs a copy paste function
As a retired CPA I would rate Turbo Tax as one of the best and easiest products out there. It makes 'what if' questions very easy to ask and answer.
There is however one major flaw - no copy and paste feature. My wife and I have in excess of 100 medical receipts each year to claim. Many of which are duplicate
prescription from one month to another. so being able to copy one month to blank lines on the Med worksheet would save hours of entry time.

Electronic updates.
When I first loaded Turbo Tax it allowed me to do automatic software updates. After a while Turbo Tax software would no longer let me get the automatic updates. They had the nerve to tell me I had to RELOAD their software! There was no way I was going to do this and lose data as I was already half through my tax return. Turbo tax should fix this software bug - this is 2017 after all!!!!

Simple and user friendly
excellent product, it asks simple questions and translates my answers into tax law answers. it could do with a wee bit more explanation of the different deductions and credits but the important ones are well covered. i recommend this to everyone

printing
I wasted a significant amount of paper. I only print one return however it asks me to print a copy for my file (Fed and Provincial Quebec) and then I have to print another one to submit to the government however about 20 pages of the one printed for the government do not require to be sent. Why do you do this. Ink is very expensive.

turbo tax standard
quite easy to use, had some trouble figuring out the donations optimizer, the income splitting optimizer saved me hundreds, really liked having the tax owing amount top-left continuous update.

One of the better ones
I have used TurboTax (and its predecessors) for over 15 years and find it reliable and easy to use.
I did run into an issue this year with the purchase of my principal residence reporting - will contact TurboTax after this review to see if it can be resolved.

The program worked fine BUT I could not get it to print in the proper page format !! Everything printed in 5.5 in x 7.5 in and although I tried everything in printer preferences I could not get a letter size output. I had to copy each page and expand to a "fit to page" format to get a mailiable copy.
Also in both 2014 and 2015 turbo tax versions I had a problem in that I could not input any installment information and so I could not efile but had to print and write in the information - not really useful.
I contacted TWICE turbo tax personnel and they could not solve the problem. I am not sure if I will continue with your program (I have used it for MANY years) unless you can assure me that these problems can be resolved

Easy Peasy
I have been using Turbo Tax Standard five years in a row for my income file returns for me and sons. Extremely affordable, easy to use the step by step available as you go along, the warnings and tax saving tips. There are other brands in the market but this one I trust. Better than this, you must hire an accountant.

User friendly
Would be better if closer linkage between spousal forms--eg switching with 'click' between same form/line for each one.
Suggestion for CanRev: Why not allow, on joint returns, net amount as payment or refund, rather than one spouse paying x amount, other spouse also paying, or perhaps recieving, y amount.

Contains Errors
The mailing address for returns from British Columbia is WRONG! I forwarded this info a couple of weeks ago but it has yet to be corrected.
There is a problem with carry-forward of Donations amount from a prior year appearing and then not appearing.

Good product, but ...
I miss the short help movies.
Sometimes confusing who is being referred to when doing a joint return with your wife. Should always be displayed.
I like the Tax Summary being always available.
When are you going to have a Linux version available, this is the only time I have to use Windows!!!!
Really appreciate the direct submission from TurboTax.

Turbo Tax
A good program that I've used, with predecessors, for 30 years. I couldn't make Electronic filing of the T1135 work, so had to print and mail. The entry screen for medical expenses should be more like a spreadsheet, it is very tedious to fill out.
