I have been using TurboTax for years since it was still called Quicktax.
I am a Mac user and am disappointed with Intuit refusing to make a Mac compatible version in spite of numerous requests. I do have a Windows partition on my Mac but find it cumbersome.

Economical choice for tax returns
I found that using this tax software this year over previous years has been much easier and less frustrating. The steps are clear and I like the option to go back a screen if I wanted to look at something or make a change. The Netfile was much easier as all I had to do was click on the tab button and now CRA has my completed tax returns. Overall I am very happy with this years program.

easy to use right out of the box
As always the product was very easy to use, The only problem I had this year was that I had to uninstall and reinstall to complete an update, to be honest it made me a bit nervous, thought I might lose info or it wouldn't let me reinstall with same number but it was really quite a smooth transition

Good Program
I've used turbotax now for a number of years and find it very easy to use. The only problem I have is when doing the investment portion because I don't want to spend the extra money on the upgrade. My investments are not that involved so I find the price too high. One other problem was when going back to check on whether I'd claimed the old age supplement for my parents, I couldn't find where I'd seen it and search didn't bring up the info either. Other than that I do love your program. Great job! :)

Purchased by family member, prefer online version
A family member of mine purchased this product from Costco for less than the cost of filing through the online system. The online system is easier to use, but overall they are almost the same. The one difference is the online form will automatically save as you go, whereas this version you have to manually save (I lost all my initial data because the program froze, and I did not save it at the beginning). Overall, happy with this product, but will likely go back to the online version next year (unless another deal is found!).

Good Tax software.
Easy step leads you along the way to complete the tax process easily. Returns you to the place you left off on the previous session. Did not see the section on importing information from Quicken, which was a time saving feature. Probably due to Intuit selling Quicken. Good help section, although I could not open the help section, while completing the Medical Expenses.

some improvements for next version
Entry for forms 5008 could be better. The 5013 and 5008 forms entry should give a choice of split between spouses. Help for 5013 forms could be better. Many boxes in actual paper forms have no entry positions in Turbotax and no quick explanations of why they are missing.

Another Tax Year Done
I have been using Turbo Tax for several years and knowing enough about computers to be dangerous I found this program to be very user friendly. If you use the Easy Steps the program takes you to all the places you need to go. I think one of the most important places is the introduction where you have to check boxes that apply to you after that can't go to far wrong.

For 2016 I Purchased a disc that would not perform. At first I thought it was my older laptop but after trying it other places...it was the disc ...Error TT3015.
I purchased a second copy and this one was fine. Will obtain a refund at Costco for the first one

Very helpful
TT gets better each year;
Couldn't apply the last update for some reason (said I would have to uninstall/ reinstall TT after entering lots of data!);
Appreciated the pension splitting wizard, but knowing in advance that it was in the app would have saved some "what-if" data entry!

Some disappointments this year
It was disappointing that I was prompted multiple times to register my product. I did so twice -- no explanations or confirming email were given. I also was prompted at least twice to uninstall and reinstall the program in order to get an available update! I did so, but when prompted again when my tax forms were almost completed I skipped the updates for fear of losing the progress made by uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
Also, I think that as a loyal customer with auto renew, my discount should be better than what I might find in a retail outlet--however it is not.

normally great
I normally really like this product but this year it had one glaring flaw. I could not get it to import by previous years info to auto fill all the basic info. which caused me many headaches and much swearing. I have a friend who also uses this software and had similar issues. Previous years worked flawlessly but this year was a disappointment.

Turbo Tax

I would like to be able to print a portion of the tax return rather than the whole document at once. If my cartridge runs out during the printing, I have to start from page 1 all over again.
