Impovements
It doesn't seem to accept the entry T5008 form Box 15 - Type code of securities. It continually gives a warning at the end that this info needs to be filled in even though the code is entered.

Enjoyed the Product
Even though there were some changes in the Format of Turbo Tax this year I was very satisfied with the product. I would advice others to use the Turbo Tax Program to do their Tax Preparation

Minor frustrating glitch
Previous versions immediately asked if I wanted to merge the saved tax return with the current tax return. This one did not and I presumed it would happen later. After entering all my data I opened up "File" in the top bar, and chose Transfer 2015 Return. It transferred the info but lost everything I had entered for the last hour! A little cursing, and then I re-entered everything again.

Used for 10 year, but this years to many flaws
Sorry, but this year I was not happy with the edition
to many flaws, had to override because it would not let me enter amounts for a spouse in pay back of Home owner loan. had to re install.
hope you do better next year.
The least it was time consuming.
oh , it would not let me print unless I put the disc back in.

Not bad for basic price.
Basic categories are clear but if you have any "non-standard" things to report, then it becomes difficult to enter the information. TurboTax does not seem to recognize its own profession codes as valid.

A DEPENDABLE STANDBY
I have used Turbo Tax since its inception and I have never found any reason to switch. It gets easier and more convenient to use every year. This year I had an issue that was quickly resolved over the phone. I am back on track. The only things I would suggest to make Turbo Tax better are these: give a phone number on the package, or on the paper sleeve with the installation code (it took longer to find a number than it took to get my problem solved), and raise the amount below which the return doesn't add to the count (not a problem for me but hardly anyone makes under $25,000).

Turbo tax 2016
I have used this products for many years now. Gets easier every year. Very easy and comprehensive to use and work with. A little annoyed by the few attempts to sell me an upgrade. I bought exactly what I needed and shouldn't be pestered to buy more. The not saving anything as you progress through the progam thing is annoying as well. I Had a glitch when downloading the program from the disk was half way through when I had to restart my computer and hence the program. I ended up having to start from the beginning again because no data had been saved.

2016 Tax Returns
I had one issue with the software this year. I noted that I had claimed a deduction for carrying charges twice by mistake. It was next to impossible to correct this mistake and remove one of the charges. Eventually I did find a way to correct the return, but it did not really accurately reflect the way I wanted it on my return.
I would further suggest that the software should allow you to prepare a hypothetical return so that you could determine, for instance, what the tax impact would be if you decided to start receiving income from a RIF.

Very good product
I have been using this product and its predecessors for almost 20 years, with no complaints or questions from the CRA. The 2016 version claimed to have a splendid new user interface that would make the process much easier. I tried to use it and gave up in despair because I never knew what lines I was dealing with. Was relieved to find that the "forms" option was identical to the old TurboTax, so I switched to it and had no problems. Tried to test the T-slips download and automatic completion option, but failed, but this was no surprising since I am old and not very computer-literate.

Update Issues
Bought TurboTax in a retail store early. Had problems getting updates (in March). Updates would not install. After several attempts, and reviewing the "community" comments, I ended up uninstalling TurboTax and then re-installing the latest version from the Intuit site, as they suggested. That worked. First time I've ever seen a bug in TurboTax.

Updating when updates were available
Had to uninstall and install from the web site to get the updates after 1 hour of trying based on info Turbo Tax was giving me - didn't work, very frustrating. I was afraid of losing all the data but thankfully all was there afterwards. First time after using this software for 10 years that this occurred. Hopefully this will be rectified next time as it appears my CD is quite worthless with out being able to get the updates.

Easy To Use
This is a good piece of software for anyone who isn't 100% confident with their skills of going through their documents and submitting info in all the right places. This software prompts you when and where to enter all needed information for your tax return. It even suggests ways to increase your tax return you might otherwise miss. Overall it's a great product at a reasonable price.

I wasted 3 hours today trying to get an update to finish filing. I had to delete the software in the end and download it from on line. I hope this is not going to be an issue next year. Overall I enjoy using the program.

Simple to Use
Pretty straight forward and simple to use, especially when preparing joint tax returns. The splitting and sharing of revenues and expenses, where applicable,is simple. The "optimizer" makes paying the least or getting the most back so much easier.
