I have used Turbotax for a number of years. It always assks me to input myn spouses income from her return. Since when I complete my return I haven't done hers I can't fill in the information. This problem needs some work by Intuit. Otherwise it is as easy as ever to use and saves a lot of time from the old paper method.

First timer experience
This was the first time that I had used Turbo Tax and I can honestly say that it was a very easy and smooth experience. I believe that my tax requirements are fairly basic so the process was pretty straightforward but Turbo tax did offer some helpful tips along the way.

Great piece of Software
I have been using TurboTax for as long as its been around and have always found it easy to use and does what its suppose to. I have a very basic return so Standard has always been the one I purchased, I only gave it a 4 star on value because my taxes are so basic I believe the price could be lower, ease of use 5 star.

Easy to use - but still some bugs
Overall works pretty well, with easy pop up screens, warnings, suggestions, etc.
They still need to work on the consistency of the product, where you click on a field to enter, or if a calculated field, then it should take you to the right entry screen. Donations are still a mess - still no attempt to change over the last several years, even though this is a pretty standard section for most taxpayers. Input screen don't appear where they should. Makes the software appear "clunky"
Same with Art Credit - broken links - and this is also something used by most taxpayers, so they need to get on with corrections.

quick and simple, but font size hard to see
I have very simple needs, and TurboTax meets them. (I could probably do the calculations myself, but I'm too lazy.)
However, my laptop screen resolution is 3200x1800, and the font they use in the forms is super tiny. I've tried adjusting the resolution and restarting the program, but it didn't help.

Tough shepherd hounds
The outcome was good. The process better than previous years, but still not intuitive. "Back" only works in a limited way. Getting back to the form you are working on was virtually a "return to Go" and flip through the done pages. A huge improvement would be offering the same comparison chart available for splitting pension income for the medical and donation categories. As it is - guess and by golly - moving numbers and seeing the effect that has. That's not a program! And I don't play this as a game. That goes for splitting the amounts as well as what to keep for next year.

Could Improve
This product provides all of the basics except in the area of pension income splitting. We have income split every year for the last umpteen years and this information should be passed from year to year because you can't change once you've split. I have to manually set this up every year and figure out how to do that, wondering why it hasn't automatically split my pension income. I find this inconvenient when the information is available - and it should be handled automatically. I am happy that it can transfer data from year to year and it is a great product once you get going. I should be able to more easily create scenarios for next year, especially with calculating RRSP income to test the impact of cashing in RRSPs. You have to set up totally separate returns and then re-add all new information - this should be handled much more easily with software data copying.

Medical Expenses Graft
What is this graft that pops up when filling in your medical expenses. The "optimizer"... really, it doesn't tell you anything, that I can decipher. Like, how it changes your return. By applying expenses to either spouse, does this increase or decrease your refunded amount. And if you move your medical expenses to the following year, how this will impact your filing of medical expenses the following year. The next tax year filing for medical expenses, it is still a 12 month window, or can we claim the previous years and current years claims at the same time in the same tax year? This really needs to be address before next year...I'm sure I've lost money because of this issue.

Tax 2016 Turbo
Good reliable product. But double check some of the auto calculations. Pension splitting needs to be played with several times to get the best overall return. Would be nice to see explanation that some numbers auto filled are a product of a schedule or form. Summary is great to see if you make a change, you can see the resultant refund or bill as you change some inputs in your tax form. The summary is a great end result visual of refunds and tax owing.

Missed a couple deductions
I entered the income and on the summary page, it listed the extra payment for Income Assistance for Pension under Self Employed Income. I went back to the income individual sections. Nothing had been entered in Self Employed Income. I checked everything and went back to summary page - now itt was right.
After entering income, it took me to medical expenses deductions. Once I entered those it took me to the end of deductions. I had to go back and find the charitable donations section.
For both when I clicked on the enter more big bar - it brought up a look up menu - Neither time did it take me to the section to enter more. When I typed in the sections it had missed - it would not populate the search box once it was listed below. Even though I highlighted it. Very Poor.
At the end of the returns, I had printed them and filed and it kept looping me back to print the returns, finally on the second return it finally went on to finalize the return. I finally just pulled up my next return on the first one.
