Simple,fast,Effective

Turbotax For Macs
Great product but they really need to incorporate a CD version for MAC computers. I do not like the online version so use an old outdated 486 computer laptop.

Well Made Product
This product is very well made, the only issue I had with it was asking me questions that I had no response to so I just had to hit continue. I wish it was more in depth with the interview process so it eliminated the blank questions process later on.
Other than that, love this product and will use again!

Excellent tax tool
for use with a PC. Only wish you'd make a version that was compatible for a MAC. i know there is an on-line platform for MAC but not the same as having a product available like the PC version.

Great but poor on Optimizer
I found that the charitble donations optimizer does not work. I had to manually split the amount between myself and my spouse to get the maximum refund. Because of this I'm unsure of the accuracy of the Split income optimizer and especially when the two have to be combined to give me the optimum refund.

Loaded and 2 Returns done in 2hrs
Easy to use, loaded the program and finished 2 returns in 2hrs. The pension splitting maximizing saved me about $500. Worth the cost of the program.

well worth the money
This is my second year using Turbo Tax Standard and I love it, by all means i am not a book keeper or anything but i find it very easy and helpful the whole process of doing my taxes. Also helps me find other ways i may be able to save also that I might of missed.

Change in program
Was pleased overall with product but disappointed that it did not transfer prior years data to the new year's return. I had to input all our information and this was a change from previous versions of TurboTax.

Not for deceased person
I was doing my father-in-law and mother-in-law's tax. My mother-in-law is deceased. After I had finished filling out the information, Turbo Tax told me that it does not do a deceased person's tax. I should have been told when I entered my mother-in-law's status as deceased.

Great for tax preparation....But
It's a shame that this product is no longer suoporting Windows Vista. If I have to purchase a new computer to use it I may have to switch to another tax prep. programme. The programme was slow to boot up on Vista. Printing the returns was more difficult than in the past. (More steps required)

Netfile part did not work well
I like turbo tax and have been a faithful user for many years.
2015 worked smoother for some reason.
This year 2016 the netfile feature was clunky.
Out of three returns one had to be filed manually.

needs one addition
The only addition which would be nice is a link to get the yearly exchange rate from US$ income from Social Security to Canadian $ . It's hard to find on the Bank of Canada site and I have to call them every year. Would be nice to have the rate shown in Turbo Tax or a link to the info

taxes and death
This product is very good. As we know however, taxes are hard. I miss being able to print screen and to print the summary from the command prompts. I had to copy paste in order to print and it took me time to figure that out. The help leaves room for improvement - perhaps just key words and pull down questions.

A Few Annoying Querks
Still 1000 times better than no help & better than just a few years ago. TurboTax has come a long way!
But this year's program says that it could help with splitting income for example then insists that you do this but does not take you to the work sheet until further on in the steps and was over a $500 off in the refund benefit because it was insisting that the low income should use the medical deductions.
Thank goodness in the end it saw the light and allowed correction but not until the review.

Worth the expense

One problem
I've used TurboTax for a number of years. Overall, the program works well. However, as a Saskatchewan Pension Plan contributor, I find it difficult to find the place to enter my SPP contributions. In the interview part of the program, I am asked whether I have contributed to SPP. But the prgram never comes back later and asks me how much I have contributed to SPP. I have to search through the program to find the place to enter that amount. If it wasn't for the fact that I know I have to enter it somewhere, I might miss it completely.

Good but not great
Wish there was more options on how to receive payments for Trillium and any other payments that would be made monthly.
Other than that the program overall is great.
I would recommend this program to anyone looking to file there taxes in a easy to use money saving manner.

Good investment
For the most part this is a pretty good product to file simple tax return. This is my first time using this product and found it quite simple to use however, one thing I had difficult with is to return to a specific location on the program once you realized that you may have made a mistake. You cannot always go back a few pages to check thing out or at least I couldn't figure it out. Other than that, again it is quite simple and easy to use. I will use it again in the future.

This 2016 version of Turbo Tax is much easier to use than the previous versions.
