Decent For Simple Returns
I really enjoy the overall ease of TurboTax. This is the 5th or 6th time we've used it. My only complaint with this years return was going through the sale of our house. That part confused the heck out of me.

EASY YET EDUCATIONAL
I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER - USED TO CALL IN MY TAX OVER THE PHONE.
EACH OF THE STEPS GUIDE YOU THROUGH ALL THE NECESSARY FORMS TO FILL WITH SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS. ALSO, THERE ARE HELP PROMPTS AND HYPERLINKS THROUGHOUT TO INFORM YOURSELF AND GAIN DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT YOU ARE ENTERING AND UNDERSTANDING TAX TERMS.
GIVE YOURSELF THE TOOL TO LEARN HOW TO AND MAYBE ENJOY FILLING OUT YOUR TAXES. THE BEST PART IS WATCHING YOUR RETURN GROW THROUGH EACH STAGE OF THE PROCESS(OR TURN RED IF THINGS ARE NOT SO GOOD).

Very good software
Fairly easy to use, except when looking for specific details such as claims for senior residence.

Excellent TurboTax Agents
Depending on who submitted T4's to the CRA My Account, TurboTax may not handle all the fields correctly when downloaded from the CRA My Account site (e.g., TurboTax will not correctly identify a T4 Box 81, with Box 14 empty, as an agency contractor that should be recorded as self employment via T2125. However, the TurboTax Agents will walk you through tweaking the return so that it completes correctly.

Why Not
I've had volunteers do my family's taxes before and it didn't look that hard, considering the info we had to submit. Well turns out it isn't that hard, just a matter of filling in the blanks. TurboTax even has an optional list of possible credits one might qualify for. Easy-Peezy Lemon-Squeezy . I now feel like a tax expert and will recommend this program to my friends at work.

Software okay but could be better
As usual, fairly straightforward software with some glitches such as unexpected error windows popping up.
Entry of medical receipts is so very tedious! Should include provision for importing from csv file or similar. Or allow copying/pasting of identical entries. This really slows down use of the software.

need help at end of return

helpfull
I like the product however it seems more limiting for 2016 than previous years. I found with the easy method, you could not go from one item and then jump back to a previous area, you had to complete that section and then you could move to a different area.
I still like the product.
Another note: My husband lives in a long term care facility separated from me, the only question was whether he lived at the same address or not. I don't know but maybe that is all that is needed.

Kind of confusing when one spouse passed away and you have to complete return for that person, you indicate that they are deceased but continually ask for info and I was not able to import information of myself had to manually input, i probably did it wrong but as I said rather confusing.

Mostly Pretty Good
Except for the crash that I experienced when a tried to down load my T slips from MyAccount it worked as expected.
I lost everything I had entered up to the point. Save and save often.
The review process some times feels like you are in a loop.
I sure hope you can trust that those optimizers work!!!

Turbo Tax Standard
Am very pleased with the program...have used for a few years and has been quite user-friendly and cooperative. Would recommend to anyone...did have one difficult section trying to bring up a form...after a few tries, it came up and cooperated. I have only done one form so far, but am happy. The program corrected the amount on a form that was a government form, so that was very good!! Keep up the good work, Turbo Tax people.

Great product
Having used Turbo Tax for over 7 years I am quite satisfied with this product. Although it would be useful to see the actual calculations used to determine how the amount was arrived at.

Use it Every Year
I have used Quicktax and then Turbotax for at least the past 15 years and have found it reliable, fast and easy to use. I always use the step by step method, since it is easier to just answer questions than to assume I always know what I am doing by using the Forms method.

I find Turbotax to be helpful, because all I have to do is enter the data from information slips, and the rest is done automatically. The Help feature is right there when I need clarification, and the system prompts me when there is something I should be aware of. I initially found Turbotax to be a bit disjointed, and hard to follow, but after using it a few times, I am now more comfortable with it.

Turbotax 2016 as good as always
I was able to complete my wife's and my 2016 tax submissions very easily with TurboTax 2016. My only disappointment was that it didn't prompt me for either my T3 or T5 forms so I had to enter them manually by opening up those specific forms. Otherwise it all went well, and I particularly liked the new and very streamlined Netfile process.

Highly Recommend for Almost Everyone
I have used Turbo Tax for over four years and have found it to be one of the easiest, most efficient ways to file my income tax. It's just so easy to use, informative, quick and takes away most of the frustration of annual filing. I luv you turbo!

Basically clear directions

One change I do not like
With a recent turbotax program update the display of Marginal Tax Rate in the summary disappeared. This will have me looking at a different program next tax year if this was intentional. Probably the handiest feature in the program.
