Great but could be better
Netfile didn't work so I had to use the manual netfile. After a couple of try's I finally got.
Turbo Tax keeps getting better every year, looking forward to automatic download of all inputs from cra next year.

Good, consistent product
I am unhappy that XP is no longer supported. I complete my return on my desktop which is running XP, then I need to move my return to a laptop which is running a supported operating system.
We are self-employed farmers and the basic TurboTax meets our needs perfectly (although the program itself always suggests that we should upgrade, we haven't found that to be necessary).

excellent resource
The program was easy to use and seamless until i came to the filing part. I tried several times to file my return automatically according to the instructions, but it would not file. However, when i filed the return manually, the filing completed. Not a problem, but a minor glitch. Would still use TurboTax next year.

NETFILE page

Almost Perfect
As usual, the program worked great and I was able to complete my taxes quickly. However, the automatic Netfile option didn't work, so I had to manually save and Netfile...too bad.

Useful As Always
Nice to have advice and number crunching all in one package. Gains value as it does not change much from year to year. Some suggestions for older customers: Provide zoom capability as print is getting smaller each year.
Filed on Feb 20 so needed to go on line to netfile. Therefore could not test how the all inclusive netfile approach works. Still, was simple to file.

EASE OF NET FILING
I DO NOT LIKE THE PROCESS FOR FILING THIS YEAR COMPARED TO LAST YEAR. I DO NOT LIKE HAVING TO GO INTO BROWSER AND DOWNLOAD THE FILE. LONG DRAWN OUT PROCESS COMPARED TO OTHER YEARS. BEEN USING THIS PROGRAM FOR MANY YEARS AND MAY HAVE TO RECONSIDER FOR NEXT YEAR.

early filing a bonus
this is the first year that I ordered my Turbo Tax online and received an e-mail with my key .. I wasn't able to access previous years Turbo Tax and had to input all the beginning information again .. next year I think I will buy the program and have the CD to download .. it will access the previous years info .. much quicker ..

Making changes
I would prefer the ability to save at any time and then be able to go back and input additional information or correct errors.
It appears you are only allowed to make changes once before Turbo Tax says no more.

My thoughts
To use this it helps to have a basic knowledge of how to complete a Tax Return. Warnings are posted but I have found it hard to correct these and have had to go to the Web - CRA. On the whole though, this is a fast and efficient way to complete simple tax returns. I have purchased for 5 years and will continue.

I think the RESP section could be better. There isn't enough information on the RESP stuff in the easy step process. Needs to automatically come up as everything else does after answering the personal information.

Good program
This is a very good program. It could use some fine tuning though. Sometimes it makes suggestions about doing something that aren't financially better than what you've already done. The program should be smart enough to ONLY make suggestions that are good for the user.

very good mostly
For filling out return for husband and wife the view should show two streams instead of total, and once a return is filed it should not be possible to change the info without "unlocking" it. Right now, if I fill out my return first and netfile, then a couple months later my wife fills out her portion, the software still asks for my info. Although I can just continue through, it is annoying, and I could inadvertently change something. Rather it should be locked, and it should be clear at the bottom of the stream when and how it was filed.
Second thing is, near the end there is some repetition, like the PDF printout is offered twice within a few screens, and it's not clear if second one is different from first (it is not).

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 7 years, and by and large, I like the program. But this year, my sister-in-law separated from my son and changed her marital status to single as of Dec 31, 2015. I found the dialog boxes confusing and contradictory as on of the "fixes" that kept coming up was "..cannot be single if you put in your former partners name.." or something to that effect. Yet the program asked to put in her former partner's name.

easy to file????
i really enjoy doing my taxes with turbo tax. My only issue is that I am having a difficult time actually filing through the NETFILE program. I have completed my taxes and have not received conformation that my filing was in fact successful!!! please make this section of your program easier or if there is an issue, have the program let me know and what the problem is.
