excellent program but overwrites each save
Very easy to use but does not give you the option to change the name of the file if you pick save. It overwrites the original file name and if anything was to happen while the program saves the information, you would lose all the information as both files would be corrupted. When saving, a prompt should appear to give the file a new name so that if anything was to happen, then you could get the last saved information back. This is known as the grandmother, mother daughter saving method.

suggestion to improve product - provide a percentage box i.e.50% to split capital gains/losses with spouse just like the one available for investments.

Tax software
The software does a good job of calculating your taxes. It does however some calculations in some places but when you double click on them, the program doesn't show how they did. You have to go to the CRA website to see how it is done. Find it awkward to use in some case.

Remember to check transferred information
Warning to always check what was transferred from the previous year - although it is extremely helpful ...life changes may make the info carried forward is incorrect.

Necessary purchase
I like to flip back and forth between the easy guide and the forms method. Always have difficulty doing this. Always have problem figuring out how to exit help. Found the medical expenses section very confusing as there were 3 different forms/worksheets. difficulty exiting this feedback/review page Overall easy to use for someone who used to do the paper version and is familiar with income tax forms in a general way. This saves me repeating info in various places

Missing industry code
Generally TurboTax is very good, but on my wife's return it refused to file her self-employment income using the industry code of 611600 (Fine arts, athletic instruction and language schools - see http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/bsnss/tpcs/slprtnr/rprtng/ndstry/srvcs-eng.html#Health), claiming that code was invalid. The only way I could file was to change the industry code to 611690 (All other schools and instruction (including tutors)).

Best tax program but lacking in help for printing
I have been using Turbo Tax for years and will continue. This year there is a serious problem with being able to print a page. The File, print no longer works. It brings me to a print set-up box and when you click OK, nothing happens. Your help does not solve the problem either. This function has worked in the past. I sure hope that you will fix it. I was able to get around the problem by block copying and moving my screen copies to Word. Please look into this problem for next year. Thanks
P.S. Ctrl + P to print the screen does not work. What gives!!! The prt sc button does not work either!!!

Does the job
I don't understand why my printed copy needs to have a big 'DUPLICATE" on every page. I have a difficult time when I want to just see a certain section of totals I have entered..perhaps I need to do the "forms" input. I still think the set up for entering info could be better. Having said that, I have used the product a number of times.

two issues:
I am still scratching my head at what "net capital loss" is when completing the loss worksheet since I could not find a definition - is it the actual loss, of 50% of the loss?
I have some non-deducted carry-over pension contributions that TurboTax overlooks requiring manual intervention..

My Purchase
I found the product was easy to use and follow. When I needed help the online help addressed my questions.
The steps to netfile were simple to follow through.
I used the Turbo Tax service to have an expert review my return. I found that guidance to very useful! This serviced helped me understand areas I had questions on and fixed other items.

Still a bit 1990's in UI experience
I've been using tax software since the DOS days, and it appears the experience is still somewhat DOS-like. I _really_ liked the days when there was a native Mac version with a Mac-UI feel to it.
In general, does what I want, at a reasonable cost.

Good, but annoying at end
This is a good program as it's accurate and thorough. The part that I do NOT like is right at the end when getting ready to submit the file to CRA----the program throws the Review Warnings back in your face even though you've walked through the review process a couple of steps earlier. This is a continual issue for this program year-after-year. This year, I saved & printed my return and as I'm "Done Filing" and hitting Continue, the next screen asks if I want to print & save my return (AGAIN!!). Tax season is stressful enough but to have this program make you second-guess AT THE END if you've gotten all your stuff right can make a person's stomach sicken! I think I'll try another program or an online version next season. Bye bye.

The ONLY tax program to use
I have used TurboTax before it was TurboTax; formerly Cantax and have not been disappointed. It is easy to use and the ability to transfer amounts from one year to the next is awesome!
Also, the ability to prepare tax returns for friends and family in different provinces is soooo easy.

odd that tuition credit, if transferred at all, automatically transfers to spouse if one is unmarried; also odd that if tuition credit is checked as being transferred to parent/grandparent on federal return, the provincial return still shows spouse as default, again, even for someone who has no spouse.
The forms are easier to use than step-by-step, which introduces too many obscure little-used situations.

I found Turbo Tax easier to use this year. It was very clear and helpful; however, i was very disappointed when I could not net file. It was a pain to have to print the return and mail it. The chat line I had with tech support was very helpful to get me to that point.

fairly easy to use with Easy Step
Don't like that at the end of a joint spousal return with pension splitting there is a net refund/owing amount showing--- but one of the spouses has to pay and the other gets a refund and the difference is the refund/taxes owing amount....why can't the program just figure out a zero ("0") balance for one spouse and then a refund or taxes owing amount for the other. ( and ODDLY the refund usually goes to the higher earner who would have had to pay if it wasn't for the pension splitting)

Still works well
No problems with this software. Does as it is supposed to. Easy to Netfile.
One small wish - make it easier to find tax return line numbers. The main ones are very easy to find but some of the less used ones are impossible to search for.

Very helpful
This program is very useful. One complaint -- I ought to be able to print out various schedules and forms to make it easier to check my numbers. I don't like that I am penalized for printing out my return in advance, to proofread.
