No Longer supports XP
I have used TurboTax for years 10 + and I found it very useful. However next year they are forcing me to give up on XP. This is the only product I have seen to date that has done this. Perhpas it is time to give up on TurboTax!!!

Reliable
I have used this method of filing our personal taxes for several years & to the best of my knowledge have done so accurately. I consider myself reasonably knowledgeable for basic understanding. I am retired & have done our own taxes since my 1st day of work except for a few years when we had a business. In the beginning I did them manually & learned to understood them far better than possible now so have no alternative but to rely on technology to do the complicated calculations now. We have very basic income & expenses now. Using the easy & recommended steps it is relatively easy to follow through this program in their suggested order. My problems usually come when asked if I want to (qualify) for various programs or credits (but have no way of knowing if I do) & my other problem is searching for back entries that I have made to check or change. I strongly recommend using the 'bookmarks' whenever possible as this helps. The final filing appeared to be very quick this year & uncomplicated - so much I almost didn't realize I was finished. I will continue to use Turbo Tax as I find it convenient & reliable. I have never used another brand so am unable to compare.

it is annoying when program keeps changing between spouses without direction from preparer. Can you stop this. Make it more obvious. Sometimes info is put on wrong spouse and has to be re-entered.

works for me
Easy step lets you follow along and alerts you to possible advantages. Allows you to modify and change while moving along. simple returns can be done in 10 mins more complicated ones in about 30. I do the taxes for myself and my adult kids and their significant others.

good overall, easy to use
If your return is simple and straight forward this is a good program to get taxes done quickly and easily. Have used this product now for over 5 years and am always pleased. Some in program advertising to up sell versions is annoying but quickly by-passed.

Not bad experience...
But still unsure that I got maximum return... I had an RRSP for a workers fund and I saw nothing about this in the interview walkthrough. Had to look into the forms required to enter the benefits that come with workers' fund RRSP.

Good product -- not a tax adviser
I like Turbo-tax. I fill in the forms -- do not use the nanny -- it seems to be slow. However, I don't really understand why I can't use a cut and paste from a worksheet to the forms with my medical and charity. Both are a tab by tab listing of the same information. Likewise I was able to toggle medical expenses right on the worksheet. That worked well to compare with myself and my wife. But it was very late in the process that I only realized that I had to go back to the schedule form in order to toggle the charity and see the effect. Also, I had capital gains from a joint account. After consulting help, I still don't understand how to split the gains without manually dividing them up. there must be an easier way. Anyway, a lot better than my father who laboured over his typewriter to complete his tax forms in the '60s.

Good buy for the cost
Easy to use and saves a lot of figuring stuff out compared to doing taxes by hand. Have used Turbo Tax for a number of years now and am pleased with the results. One area that I had problems with were the "optimizers" for my medical one the dates were 2014, I changed them to reflect the 2015 year but when I hit the optimizer button it reverted back to 2014. Gave up trying to use it after several attempts. If I had needed that to reduce my taxes to a manageable amount I would have been out of luck. This feature has worked well in past years but not this one. Does not mean that the rest of the program is anything but good

Decent Mac version needed
Relatively easy to use. As a Mac user, I run the software in VMWare Fusion, but would prefer a native Mac version. The online version is not cost effective right now compared to the multiple user version.
