Useful, easy, but a bit buggy
I did come across a couple of bugs while using the program:
1- It changed the calculated refund (increased by $100 or $2000) if I had previously loaded another return.
2- It crashed a couple of times when saving individual forms at the end.
Overall, it was easy and useful.

Minor Issues
I'm a Mac user using Parallels for Windows, as Intuit no longer makes a Mac version of Turbo Tax (Quick TAx) Not pleased that I'm stuck using Explorer 8, which I don't use normally. Hard to find a version that still works on XP. Even so, still had links that didn't work and had to copy and paste to Firefox. Why can't we use Firefox or Chrome in the first place?

Not good for old folks
Canada's population is aging. With ageing comes diminished eyesight. For goodness sakes, please stop using medium grey fonts on a off-white background! Your client base's average age is steadily climbing and you are making it very difficult for them to use you program without the burning sensation of eyestrain.
Increase the contrast and increase the font size.

Don't forget to register the product
Overall very user friendly. We had the same issue filing that we did last year in that you need to register the product before it will allow you to netfile. A step in the filing process should include that you have to register the prouct in order to actually netfile. Other than that it was fine.

Good as long as you know the fields
It's a good product for taxes, but it would be nice if there was a ? by each field that gave a few examples and some reference information. There are times with things that I'm having to Google to try to find answers on what a field/question really means.

Down with Internet Explorer
The fact that this product only accesses Internet Explorer is enough reason to find a new software product. Let the program use the defaults set the on the computer. Do not override them to allow a virus prone program to run from the tax prep software.

Thank God for Turbo Tax!
This format was extremely easy to use and took all the guess work out of what the next step was.

Good program
I hve been using Turbo Tax for several years. I had to upgrade my Internet Explorer just to get it to work this year. I understand why, I just wish this was not a requirement as I do not use Internet Explorer. It is easy to use and navigate screens.

Reliable Tax Software
I have used Turbo Tax since its inception and found it to be reliable. It provides the necessary guidance at every step and its "Help Tips" are useful. I would continue to use this software and also recommend it to others.
The software could be improved for its manouverability and be made more user friendly. Eg. when Netfiling, it asks you whether you want to netfile and then says that it cannot be done due to internet issues. It then prompts you to manually upload the file for netfiling purposes and then this step goes through as documented. And this time the internet seems to be fine.

Room to improve
When prompted to print or save either Federal returns of all forms, it makes more sense to add in a choice to select All forms rather than the need to keep clicking at each and every form since most users would like to save all forms to pdf's. Other than this, I have enjoyed another year of smooth tax filing for myself and my family. Thanks!

no easy click info on Standard version
cannot access work sheets to verify entries of multiple T slips.. even more difficult when splitting amounts. no work sheet for age exemption. T5 splitting can not be viewed on both returns at entry.

Had a problem
I had a problem with saving my Turbo Tax File. The first time I saved the file, all the data I had input was saved. After editing and making changes, I saved it again. When I opened the file at a later time, only the edited data that I had input the second time was in the file. The original data had to be re-input.
I have never had a problem with this software. So I am left wondering if it was an "Operator Error" or a software problem. I found a work around and did get Netfiled.

Not for the deceased
I have used TT before and purchased it again this year with the hope of getting through the process and be able to file for my deceased spouse. It is chaotic and poorly worded to fill out the forms and get the return done without spending many hours for a simplistic return with only two T-slips. For the price I could have done better with a tax person, and they could have printed all the forms for filing as TT does not allow e filing for a deceased person.

Ease of Use
For a New Person using a Tax Form on the computer the steps you go thru are easy to use. Make sure you have all of your papers ready as going back maybe a difficult to manuover. Did my Taxes within an hour......GREAT

Room for Improvement
For the most part Turbo Tax is Good and Easy to use. Some improvements are needed and would be beneficial to the user. My suggestions are:
1) Help Line to address issues or even clarifications should be included with this product without an additional price tag. We encountered a line which was an amount you could deduct, unfortunately it wasn't very clear what it was for and we were unable to find any clarifications on it. I hardly want to go on a forum to get information regarding my Income Tax Reporting (I'm from the older generation...we don't like to put everything out there!).
2) Eliminate the unnecessary. There was a line that asked if I had children. My answer...Yes! I believe it wasn't necessary because it didn't expand to say that were dependant on you, or were attending school with an education credit they could share. My kids are grown up, independent, and have left the house. Not necessary to have to show them at all except I will not say I don't have children when there are only the two choices.
3) Medical & Dental Information is lengthy. If program populated the area once you start typing in the information, it would reduce the typing and speed up the process. Also when you go back, e.g. Receipt #9 back to Receipt #6, you review it and want to go ahead, it automatically goes to Receipt #9, go back it goes to Receipt #6. You can no longer review Receipts #7 & 8 until the end of entering and you've chosen done. Then you can edit and delete.
4) Turbo Tax needs to separate the program from it's advertising and information seeking so the program addresses the purpose of reporting Income Tax. The other is secondary.
5) I did the survey in hopes to enhance the program. The survey didn't give me an opportunity to say what I liked or didn't like. Not listening very well from what I see.
I've done Income Tax manually, by phone submission, and using Quick Tax & Turbo Tax. Entering it by computer and transmitting it works great. Only negative side is I'm the one who has to maintain the computer and internet with no compensation.

good product
turbo tax standard is a good product which allows you to easily and cost effectively file your return. Although it give warnings that you need to upgrade it does allow you to file returns with investment income such as rental properties. don't be put off by the warnings that you have to upgrade, you can file with Standard as long as you have all your information to hand. this is a good product for CRA tax filings.

errors
turbo tax has been made simpler over the years and that is great, easy to use simple. I do have a issue with this version. I was kicked out of turbo tax 2 times due to problem with explore. I completed 3/4 of return and it was all lost. major problem easy fix with auto save after each section or if a problem occurs.

Mostly flawless
The software guides you through the steps easily and seamlessly, but also allows you to go back at any point or jump straight into the forms yourself. The only issue I have is it is always confusing to enter disability insurance income.

Some weaknesses
The "Continue button should be at the same place (top left) on every page.
You should show refunds for each separately.
It should be easier to move between the pension splitter and the summary page.
