Problems with printing
All was well until I printed my return for my records. It wouldn't print pages 1,2, & 3 on mine and my husbands tax return. Also there is no phone number to contact you with.

Repeat Customer
The optimizer for medical expenses was not correct. By claiming the medical expenses on my wife's return as instructed, our combined return was approximately $6.00 less.

Very user friendly
I choose to use the forms " look up " option as I have some experience, and it is easy to proceed through my slips and ensure that nothing is missed. I have always had complete confidence in the results.
My one complaint is with the tips at the end. One asked me to consider switching medical expenses to the lower income spouse. I did this but it did not come close to offering any benefit, so I thought the program should be able to figure this out in advance.
I will continue to use TurboTax - great product, great value.

My Thoughts
Upon using Turbo Tax I really liked the setup but was wondering especially for Quebec returns that all questions about having direct deposit etc. be asked with introduction so that if you have to apply (goes for Fed. also) for direct deposit then you have the time to do so.
Also wondered if one spouse owes taxes and another getting refund why we cannot have one spouse pay the other? Was that way at one time and sure handy.
Keep up the good work otherwise.

Works for me

Should go back to the basics
I have used this product for about 15 years. Every year the software is changed to support more of a step by step guide rather than the classical form and table entry. For those persons that are used to the form and table entry this is the simplest approach. This year's turboTax was a challenge to install because of its dependancy on IE and I had many challenges updating my computer. Go back to a simple form and table product that does not require IE to execute.

I had a great deal of difficulty fixing an override problem on my return. No matter how many times I pushed the override button, nothing happened. I had to hunt through my forms to find the red print and then manually fix it.

Worst version in many years
The program is not maximising refunds, and it seemed harder to follow lines than in the past.
You need to allow for pasting information, in particular medical receipts. I would like to import from a spreadsheet, not hand enter many receipts one by one with no option to copy and paste information (like name or supplier).

Simple to Use but...
Was simple to use for the most part. Sometimes I wanted to see some information regarding some of the boxes I was ready to fill out such as what some of the other credits are that relate to the children or the RRSP optimizer - never understanding what the system is trying to say. When The review occurred, not sure about some of the errors it stated. Tried to "undo" the supposed overrides I had attempted - even though I don't honestly remember trying to override as I simply entered in the bubbles.

Big improvement from paper submission
Previous years I had been filing by paper copy for both myself and my wife. I decided to get Turbo Tax this year and found filing our taxes so much simpler and being able to combine our tax return to maximise our tax credit was a massive bonus for us - I wish I'd upgraded years earlier!

simple for all
Turbo is easy to install even for a person is not great on the computer. It simplifies filing your income tax. It is great for families because you can do multiply returns. I really like the maximizer part. It makes me feel better apon completing my tax returns.
