Generally clear instructions, but had to search for how to include Medical Expenses. Also, when I finished entering all info, there was no easy way of returning to the beginning so that I could review all entries and confirm their correctness.

Issues
The program it's self was easy to use and walk you though all the required forms.
My issue is that I could not purchase Audit Insurance as I could not show US address or Zip Code to activate my purchase

Easy to Complete
The Turbo Tax Easy Steps makes it very easy and simple to fill out my tax return, even when I have capital gains from sales of investment properties, flow-through LP shares and resource tax credits, dividends, and foreign investment income.

Very good, until Netfile
Overall, very good. But after do Netfile and return to TurboTax, TurboTax says something like, "Now you can Netfile". I thought I just did that! I'm sure it was actually Netfiled because I got a confirmation number, but it's confusing.

Long Time User
I have used Quick / Turbo tax for over 10 years. Each year the software improves and the process gets more seamless. This year's change to integrate Netfile into the Turbo Tax application was a very welcome addition!

Rural Address Fix
Turbo Tax required me to change my rural address from the correct version "Range Road" to "RR" as an abbreviation for rural route. The program would not proceed unless I made the change. This needs to be updated as some area in the prairie provinces have rural addresses that are designated on a range road or township road. Expand the possible formats for rural addresses.

Good - but could be better
Overall TurboTax Standard is easy to use and quite satisfactory. There is the useful option to assign a percentage share with spouse for some things when doing joint returns, but unfortunately that choice is not on Schedule 3, item 3 for shares and mutual funds etc. If that feature was added it would save the arithmetic to calculate half the amounts and typing it twice.

Income Splitting Not User Friendly
1. The software requires the entry of various $ amounts from the spouse's return. Since the software only allows one return open at a time, the user must keep opening & closing returns to find the required $ amounts.
2. The software does not optimize the $ amount to be split. Currently the user must play around with the numbers to find the optimum amount.
3. The interface was generally less user friendly that last year.

Pretty simple
We have had our taxes prepared for us by acountants for the past few years and decided not to pay them to do something that appears we can do ouselves now using this software.
Once I have our returns in hand, I will be satisfied it works as advertised.

CPP is tough to get right
The program is very good for most things, and most people. I have a case where we had an incorrectly prepared T4 that didn't deduct CPP. Of course CPP was required. We also want to pay the CPP as we are getting close to the retirement age. It was tough to force the program to allow us to pay the CPP.

I found this version less helpful without the left hand side graphs showing refunds and amounts owing. It was a lot easier to adjust joint amounts with the graph.

Easy,secure,fast and accurate
I love it because I don't have to pay an arm and a leg just to have my income tax done.Plus I can do it in less than 2hrs as well as I don't have to show anybody my personal informations

Great Product
Nice user interface and well, easy to use. Can do with some improvement in the Help screens, like - I always used to claim Safe Deposit Box rental charges under Carrying Charges. This has been done away with this year, but Turbo Tax help does not say that this is new from this year onwards.

Grab a coffee
This was my first time ever doing my own taxes. I thought, how hard can it be?? My stomach turned and I bit my nails but Turbo was easy to follow...sort of...and I finally finished all 4 people in our family 3 nights later. Lots of reading and you have to be organized! But good overall!

I've used turbo tax for years but it has been easier in previous years to switch back and forth between my husband's return and mine. Frankly, it was a pain having to click thru my screens to get to his.
Otherwise, familiar program is user friendly. I'll continue to use turbo tax.

Good software
New format it good. Last year's version was easier to save and return later (ie you could go to 'file' and 'save'). The summary along the side was better last year too. Product is easy to use.

Easy purchase on line
Excellent system to navigate through the complicated tax system. I like the instant feedback on tax refund or payment due. It would be nice to be told the income levels at which Ontario tax credits would not be applicable to one. Net filing was really easy this year.
