There were 2 items that I felt were not clearly explained and about which I did send in a response. There was 1 screen I needed to go back to in order to re-print but could not find a way to bring that screen back. On the whole I was satisfied with the software and found it even a little easier to use this year over last year's product.

Very Helpful
The only problem I have with Turbo Tax is the Charitable donations. The first time donator comes after the optimizer, and the tuition fees comes after charitable donation optimizer which requires taxpayer to go back and redo the donation optimizer after entering tuition fees.

Good value
The only thing I wasn't a fan of, was when my tuition credits, didn't change my return and I didn't give a reason why. Luckily I transferred it to my spouse and it changed dramatically. I wish it said why it didn't change and gave feedback on how to go about utilizing those credits. I had to call my friend who happens to be an accountant. I shouldn't have to do this with purchased software.

Perfect tool

With more cra info required re: foreign income, etc., the TurboTax needs more lines and more room to supply info required. Suggest supplemental sheets be available so netfile can be done

The only problem I encounter is with the German pension I need to input. Only a percentage is taxable, the remainder should be entered on line 256. There seems no link between the two amounts. I also have to pay income tax to Germany and again there is no direct connect to that input line. Other than that, great.

I had to re-register my copy of the program each time I opened it. This happened 3 or 4 times. Each time I received and printed the confirmation page.
Not as easy to navigate back and forth to previous screens as versions from other years.

Charitable optimizer is flawed
I had to manually do the optimization. The optimizer did NOT work. I looked at the refund amount, then altered the carry-over amount until the maximum carry-over was achieved.
The slider was too coarse to use, so I manually entered dollar values to determine the maximum carry-over.

Better then going to those guys
I had a less then simple tax return this year and there was not a lot of clarification with some of the terms or the lawyer speak that I found confusing, but overall the program was easy to follow and I got my return done for at least a hundred dollars cheaper then if I had of paid someone else to do it.

Good Tax Program
I have a suggestion for improvement - add an icon containing new rules or changes to commonly used information and deductions. For example, safety deposit box rental costs are no longer deductible - it is in your information, but is not obvious and could easily be missed.

Consistantly Quick and Easy
The software is consistently easy to use, with the easy step process and the ability to switch to the form view at any time taxes are made quick and easy.
It took more time for me to round up my receipts and expenses than to actually process the return on TurboTax

work pension plan confusing
For the most part, I found this easy to use. When it came to work and other pension plans, I found it rather confusing. I had entered the information on the main T4 page but wasn't sure what to do when the extra information page came up. It would be helpful to have a question as to whether you have pension plans other than the one deducted on your paycheque. I'm hopeful that I have filled it out correctly but am not 100% sure. I have to send it in by mail to have direct deposit started so they can figure out if I did it wrong.

Good for the 05% solution
Overall, very good program. If you have some experience, it can be used with your investments instead of paying for the higher level versions of turbotax. However, the supporting documentation is not very strong for some investments. If you are uncertain about how to calculate ACB, definitions of some shares, partnerships, etc, you should probably upgrade to the higher package as it may give more information.

Great software
I preferred prior year's software as I found it was easier to navigate with.
In the past month, the computer we used for the past decade for doing our taxes, well, it died, and our tax e-copies went with it. Sadly, we couldn't transfer anything to this year to make it a little less time consuming to enter stuff - we had to revert to paper copies for info from prior years . Wish there was something online that held the info, maybe encrypted or something. Anyhow, that is our families problem. TurboTax does what we need and hasn't failed us yet.

Makes filing taxes faster and easier
I've depended on this software for many years to make filing tax returns as simple as possible. It does the hard work for me, and saves a lot of time in preparing a return. found it difficult to imput amount from my t4a income replacement . I had to go into the forms to finally figure out .
