Getting it done
Got the forms filed ok but couldn't get into NetFile without help from a TurboTax agent who had to lead me through all the steps. NetFile wouldn't allow me access to it. I don't know why but several other people had the same problem. Hopefully another year this will change so people can be spared the frustration it causes.

Long term user

new tax program for me
This is a new one for me. At first I found all of the questions confusing because I'm used to doing my own taxes and I just want to put the numbers in the boxes. Once I started understanding why there were so many questions, I became more confident using the program. It was easy and quick to use. Took me about 3 sessions of 30 minutes each, mostly because I couldn't find some of my paperwork.

I did find that doing the medical and donations part was a little confusing. I did have to go back several times to fix mistakes I had made earlier. The little Help icon did come in handy.

I have been using Turbo Tax for years, and I find it an esay way to file my taxes!! Also if you get together with friends, it is also cheaper then getting it done elsewhere. Turbo Tax has also improved the way to file and it is easier than ever!!

software improvements needed
Do not like the change to Netfiling this year, preferred the ability so save the file and then netfile later I use Turbo tax on an old Windows laptop that is not secure so always leave the wifi off. Later I would use my secure iMac to upload the netfiles and file.
Why doesn't Turbo Tax make a version for Macs, sigh....

Problem with 2013 program
After entering information from T4RSP, amount did not show on the summary, when viewed. All other information showed on the summary. Very annoying. I would like to see everything be shown on the summaries, not just some items. This was not a problem in the 2012 program. Hope you fix it for 2014

needs to better defer medical expenses
Only complaint I have is that it does not let us carry medical expenses forward to next year. Since turbotax is used year after year, having that deferred payment would help us remember to use it the next year when it would come more in handy.

Got the job done after one complete redo.
Once I entered the review section I still hadn't entered some T5 interest information as I never found the option and I ended up starting all over as if I did not just spend an hour entering the information... Bank interest is well hidden. You have to find the problem before the review section. I really dislike this program if you have to go back...it was a pain restarting the return right from the beginning. I had to do three returns and that one was an absolute pain - the other two went smoothly. So four hours and three returns on a supposedly easy to use form. Follow the arrows and jump the hoops and hope you find the hidden detours. Three years later and I still have not entered allowable Safety Box charges. It requires information that you don't have or need or says you cannot claim and keeps giving you errors. Since when is writing a will any of a tax preparers job and why is it wasting my time with that? How about keeping in line with the income tax form? If I want to read a book I will go buy one.

Getting Better Every Year
It would be nice if TurboTax knew that I am not qualified for certain things like GST credit/Working Income Benefit based on knowing my income already. Therefore, not having to ask me if I want to apply. Otherwise, when all slips/receipts become electronic and are importable (thus relieving us of having to manually input the boxes (which is error-prone)), it would be a super awesome program!
