another tax software
as far as tax software is concerned this is basically the same, just as confusing UNLESS you have a normal return with nothing different from the basic.

Pretty good
For the most part this was easy to use. A few issues with navigation when going into form view and trying to get back. as a result, didn't get the option to netfile. fortunately, someone had posted a similar issue and the answer outlined the steps to get to the netfile page. Would have been very unhappy if I hadn't found that information.

Needs some tweeking to rise above Good rating.
I had difficulty with maximizing the deductions for the medical expenses. I thought I had entered the medical expenses under my name but they showed up under my husbands name. The first time through I had been prompted that the maximizer for medical expense deductions was still coming, but then I never saw it as I continued. A few days later when I reviewed some of the earlier steps, I found the maximizer when I double clicked. I went back and found that when I single clicked it didn't work, which is what I must have done the first time, so when nothing happened I clicked on continue.
I also failed to see the purpose of the charity donations maximizer since it didn't seem to make any difference in the refund amount for myself and my husband.
Also, my printer prints all the pages just fine except the first page - Tax Returns Enclosure List. I had to reset my printer from "normal" to "high quality" printing to get a clear copy of this page. My suggestion is to maybe add a reminder in your program that you might want to change the settings on your printer to get a good quality copy.
My other concern is, when I wanted to print just the "Tax Returns Enclosure List" I could not choose that option. I had no choice but to print ALL the forms again.
I will probably use the Turbo Tax program again, but I do hope that you improve the items I mentioned above.

A little tweaking needed
I would really like to see an option to complete returns for dependents PRIOR to completing parents to get a better idea of transferrable information for tuition etc. The default setting seems to be parents first. Completing the question "what was dependent's income" or "amount transferrable from dependent" is tough to do when it has not been completed yet. Being able to move between returns, and prompts to do so would help.

Great Value & Efficiency
This is my third time using Turbo Tax. Again, the process went well and quickly. I had a couple of minor issues when I neglected to fill in a box, but the rest went well. I'll likely be back again next year!

Minor improvements needed
I would like to see a little more that is going on. In particular, I would like to see how living in Ontario and Working in Quebec is handled to be more confident that I am not overpaying taxes. Also, I would like to see how the amounts for my dependents (children) are claimed. I think TurboTax should show me these things as I go through and input my information.
Otherwise, I love using TurboTax. What used to be a daylong exercise in careful transcribing of numbers and performing calculations has been reduced to an easy 2 hours for my spouse and I together.

TOO MUCH ADVERTIZING
DIFFICULT TO USE WHEN FILING FOR A FAMILY OF 2. MUCH EASIER TO COMPLER ONE PERSON FIRST AND THEN THE SECOND. TEND TO MIX UP FILES BOUNCING BACK AND FORTH.

I've been using QuickTax, now TurboTax, for many years. I find it dependable and fairly easy to use. I like that it tracks information from one year to the next and automatically handles dependent information, provided dependents use the software as well (and they do). I've a couple of nits though:
- Stop asking me on every return if I want to purchase tax advice. Go ahead, ask me once, but then leave it alone.
- One of my children has zero income, but the Premium package $$$ upgrade was still “recommended”. Not very professional.
But overall, good value for the money.

Long-time user of TurboTax
I have used TurboTax and it's predecessors for many years. I find it simple and straightforward, even when I have a few unusual tax items, Standard handles them with ease. Only complaint is returning to Guide from forms is guesswork.

Satisfied User
Turbo tax products continue to deliver solid solutions for a reasonable price. I use both personal and corporate software every year and it continues to deliver what I require and what is advertised. The one complaint I have is the constant upsale.

A little disappointed
I am a little disappointed that I got the early version from Turbo Tax which I downloaded only to find out that if I had waited a few more weeks I could have received the product at a lower price in a retail store. The claim that it will come at the lowest price is inaccurate.

Navigation Needs Work!
Navigating through the process still needs work. I find it very cumbersome when trying to go back to certain areas for double checking or making changes. I find myself constantly going through the checklists over and over again, when I would prefer an easy way to find just one page for editing the figures.
And for some reason, your software keeps wanting me to revise the allocations of medical expenses on the joint return, which would result in paying higher taxes. Thankfully, I can override it, but this doesn't make it a simple task for novice users.

Simple and Easy
The program is simple and easy to use. The Standard version covers the basics well. The one negative comment I have is the amount of advertising and "up-selling" in the Easy Step process. It feels like between each step they want you to upgrade, or buy a related product or service. Enough already! Talk about exploiting a captive audience.
Just stick to the taxes. Keep the ads for the end and ask them all at once if you must.

It keeps getting easier
I've used it 5 years now and it keeps getting simpler. I don't plan to switch to anything else. I do wish the standard would have some more of the premium options like rental income.

Good tax program
I have used this program for several years and it has worked well. I really like being able to transfer all of last years info to the current year. I will use it again next year.
I do not like the prompts to purchase a will or other items unnecessary for completion of my taxes.

Still mired in the old DOS based software.
You can improve the interface and allow better movement between forms, the ability to close unnecessary forms until needed for printing.

Good but not perfect
I have been using the software for over 15 years now. I have become used to it and know my way around it, that's why I am coming back to it. It's not perfect, because it still doesn't do certain calculations automatically that it should do, but once you know it, it's not a problem.

Switching from easy step to a particular form and back is not particularly easy if trying to see how a specific value was achieved. I need to play with the software more in order to get more familiar with it, but overall it flows nicely and is quite intuitive.

Not as happy as usual
I was not pleased with the amount of ads showing up during the tax session. I perticularly found the will one far from tasteful but that could have been because I had to do an estate tax for a family member this year. I understand that Intuit is a business and as such must sell products but I think there must be a better way than these extra screens popping up during a tax session. Other than that it was as usual very easy to use and I did like the netfile feature this year.
